Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 655: In love with a transcendent male god
Luo Muchen shifted his gaze to his lover his eyes filled with affection. For a moment, Bager felt like an intruder in a world where he didn’t belong more especially when he saw the pair of matching pendants.
He remembered the day he saw that pendant he was madly curious. He asked if it was a teardrop but Luo Muchen shook his head no.
That night he went online to find the same pendant only to find out that it was half of the Yin and Yang symbol. When he came back in the morning he playfully asked where the other half was and Luo Muchen had just smiled and walked away. Now he understood why. He should have pieced it together when he was attacked online by Qie Xieling out of nowhere. It was because Luo Muchen was his man but it wasn’t official yet.
The cologne that he had chosen with such care now seemed like a feeble attempt at capturing something that was never his to claim.
Bager mustered a smile, though it felt like a mask on his face. "I wasn’t expecting company," he managed to say, his voice steady despite the turmoil within. He opened his laptop about to copy everything.
"We’re a package deal," Qie Xieling quipped, the corner of his mouth lifting in a smirk that didn’t quite reach his eyes that remained plastered on the phone screen.
Luo Muchen’s gaze softened his lips quirking into a smile that Bager had seen before. It was the same smile Luo Muchen had on the time that he asked where the other half of the pendant was.
Luo Muchen turned back to Bager and said, "No need to make a transfer. You can keep it."
Bager’s eyes widened. He didn’t think that Luo Muchen would leave so soon. He didn’t want to be abused by their dog food but he had a feeling that this was the last time he would see Luo Muchen.
"Can I give it back to you later before I go?" he asked as Luo Muchen got up.
"No need. Take it back and pass my apologies to the supervisor," he said his hand holding Qie Xieling’s hand. "Baby, let’s go," he said as he pulled him up. Qie Xieling stumbled into his arms as he wasn’t prepared to be pulled up like that.
Luo Muchen wrapped his arms around Qie Xieling with a smitten expression on his face. He couldn’t wait to have this man in closed doors with no one watching. He was going to love on him so hard that he would be begging for mercy.
Bager watched the two of them walk hand in hand like he didn’t even exist. His jealousy gnawed at him as he sat there. He was going to leave this place with an even bigger heartache. Perhaps it was time to seek a love that was meant for him, a man who would look at him the way Luo Muchen looked at Qie Xieling. He leaned back in his seat looking defeated. His phone suddenly buzzed and the person who had just left right now sent him a direct message and it wasn’t pleasant.
CutieLin: Don’t fuck with my man ever again otherwise I won’t be so civil.
A chill crept up Bager’s spine. He had this faint feeling that he was being watched. It was as though if he overstayed his welcome Qie Xieling would personally escort him on the plane.
As though confirming his conjecture a waiter walked over holding out a silver tray. On it was a single glass, a drink he hadn’t ordered, its contents a deep, mysterious amber. From the looks of it, it was probably whiskey. Attached to the glass was a note, folded neatly, with his name written in a bold, assertive script.
With hesitant fingers, Bager picked up the note and unfolded it. The message was curt, a command more than a suggestion, "Leave the country soon. Your time here is up. - Lin Lin."
The words struck him like a physical blow, his hands trembling as he reread the message. Qie Xieling’s warning was clear, and the underlying threat was not to be taken lightly. Bager’s mind raced with questions and fear.
His jealousy from earlier was now overshadowed by a more pressing concern for his safety. In Qie Xieling’s defence, he wasn’t going to harm him at all. He was just going to carry him to the airport if he had to. Bager’s tourist visa was about to expire anyway.
Bager looked up, half expecting to see Qie Xieling’s smirking face, but the waiter had already moved on. He was alone with nothing but the chilling note in his possession and the eyes that seemed to be lurking watching him.
With a deep breath, he pocketed the note and left the glass untouched. He had no idea what Qie Xieling put in there and he didn’t want to risk it.

Luo Muchen managed to convince Qie Xieling to have lunch with him but Qie Xieling wasn’t talking as much as usual. He had his head lowered decimating that steak without saying a word.
Luo Muchen was at a loss and didn’t know what to do. He was so desperate that he even wanted to call his future dad-in-law and ask for help.
Qie Xieling wasn’t playing. He was still pissed at the way Bager looked at Luo Muchen. He sat there with a cut of steak before him, its aroma mingling with the subtle notes of the red wine he had ordered earlier. The rich burgundy liquid swirled in his glass catching the light.
Across from him, Luo Muchen was the picture of grace. His every movement was a picture of unconscious elegance that drew eyes like moths to a flame. He could swear he saw the young woman who passed by just now staring at his boyfriend with her lewd eyes.
’Fuck!’ he swore internally. His man was too popular. This was the consequence of falling in love with a transcendent male god. It was this very allure that had captured Bager’s attention earlier. He had on an affectionate gaze that lingered too long, too tenderly on Luo Muchen’s body and that irked him.
Qie Xieling’s jaw tightened at the memory, the steak’s savoury taste turning sour with the recollection of Bager’s longing look. It was a look that had no place in his reality, not when it was directed at Luo Muchen. Yes, his baby was handsome and it made sense that he would be admired but that didn’t soothe the irritation simmering within him.
