Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 188: LUO SAVE ME!!!
Behind the throne was an awe-inspiring sight awaited those who dared to approach the throne. Adorned with opulence and grace, a tapestry of unparalleled beauty stretched across the expanse behind the majestic seat of power.
Depicted on it was a scene that whispered of a profound tale, one of longing and devotion. At the centre of this tapestry, woven with the precision of a masterful artist, lay a magnificent platinum dragon. Its sleek scales shimmered under an ethereal light, casting a radiance that seemed to breathe life into the fabric itself.
The dragon, with eyes ablaze like molten silver, exuded an air of serenity and peace that enchanted all who gazed upon it. The expression upon the dragon’s noble countenance spoke volumes of a treasured love lost to the ravages of time.
It bore the weight of a thousand sorrows, yet retained a certain tranquillity that transcended mere emotion. With wings gracefully folded by its side, the dragon appeared to be resting, as if awaiting the day when its beloved would return, completing the missing piece of its heart.
Every intricately woven thread in this tapestry seemed to capture the essence of the lost king’s soul. Each brushstroke of vibrant colours portrayed a longing so profound that it could move even the coldest of hearts. The dedication to this ethereal creature, this symbol of devotion, served as a testament to the king’s eternal yearning for his lost love, forever enshrined in the very fabric of his kingdom.
As the light of the sun graced this tapestry with its golden touch, it bathed the dragon in a warm glow drawing one to touch it. It seemed the King of the forgotten realm had fallen head over heels for Bahamut. Knowing this explained why there was so much hatred between King Luo and Yana.
One was favoured by their father because of who his mother was and the other was ignored also because of her mother. The disparagement in treatment was so obvious and very hard to ignore.
"Where do you think the King went? It seems he left in a hurry," said Boran and Yunning glanced at the King’s goblet covered in a thick layer of dust. It seemed the person just up and left without a second thought.
"The almighty dragon disappeared after giving birth to the future heir and she wasn’t seen since. Rumour has it that she was injured and was looking for a place to rest her body. His majesty however couldn’t live without her so he left in search of her," she explained while Qie Xieling’s grabby little paws reached out to touch the tapestry.
"No don’t!" she yelled having spotted a trap lying in wait for them.
Qie Xieling immediately retracted his fingers and heaved a sigh when he saw the contraption right behind the tapestry.
"That was close," he said only for a pair of blue eyes to peek from behind the tapestry.
"Just don’t touch anything!" yelled Yunning and Qie Xieling raised his hands in surrender but when he turned his face back and saw those malicious eyes his muscle stiffened his blood running cold.
Jolie sensed something was wrong so she glanced in his direction only to see the same pair of eerie eyes as Qie Xieling.
She raised her hands preparing to conduct an offensive attack before saying to him, "On the count of three you duck."
Qie Xieling was so nervous that his soul almost flew away ditching him. "Why on three? Jolie, I might be dead by then," he whispered in between breaths trying to make as little noise as possible.
"Are you going to argue with me about this right now damn it? I say three you duck," she said in a loud whisper and Qie Xieling nodded as his throat bobbed.
"One... two," she counted only for a group of sharp darts to come flying towards Qie Xieling. Jolie could see right through Yunning. It was obvious she did it on purpose.
In a panic, she yelled, "Lin Lin duck!" and Qie Xieling did as told an arrow narrowly missing his ear. As he fell to the ground he pulled along the tapestry with him setting off a myriad of traps.
Chaos ensued and Jolie was soon occupied with the relentless attacks coming from the traps set by this mad king. This meant Qie Xieling was on his own for now.
He crouched down with his head covered trying to slow his breathing and pretend to be invisible but the creature wasn’t fooled. It lowered its body making an eerie clicking sound as it moved closer and closer to him. After a long while the creature stopped moving and Qie Xieling raised his head only to find a cute-looking wisp of light.
"Aww it’s cute," he said but as he admired its cuteness the system flashed a warning light before displaying the name of this creature.
’Attention host, that is a will ’o’ wisp. A tiny undead filled with chaotic evil. It can move through other creatures and objects inflicting damage internally. Oh, and it can also make itself invisible.’ 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Qie Xieling, "..."
As though confirming the system’s words the creature the cute ball of light let out an electric shock with its ghastly cries.
"Fuck fuck not cute... not cute," he yelled as he ran for his life. Jolie saw him running straight into a trap so she sent forth a defensive spell giving him a chance to run.
Qie Xieling ran through the deserted corridors screaming his lungs out. He tried to use the defense charm Jolie gave to him but this aggressive little beast was immune to his spell. He had no choice but to continue running.
"LUO SAVE ME!!" he yelled and King Luo who was putting on his robe turned his head sharply having heard his cries.
Qie Xieling turned a corner and his arm was grabbed before he was pulled into a half embrace. When the will ’o’ wisp turned the corner it suddenly halted as it met those frosty eyes.
It seemed to sense his superiority thus it backtracked running away like a dog after hearing the loud explosion of fireworks. It loved tormenting this little prey but knew when to concede.
"It’s gone," said King Luo and Qie Xieling who was burying his face in King Luo’s chest refused to move. That’s because King Luo’s lapel was wide open and Qie Xieling’s lips were brushing up against it.
