Chapter 125 -124 Awakening Time (1st update! Please subscribe! Please vote for monthly tickets!)

What are you thinking about?

During this time, Lyla had counted the number of people in this group, a total of twenty-seven.

Twenty-seven people think they can take on the Flash Wolves that even the Day Empire’s army of hundreds might not be able to handle? You must be joking!

Aliens, just go back to outer space already! It’s dangerous here!

In Lyla’s eyes, the members of the Dancing Nuclear Guild really were a bunch of aliens, as no normal person would dress in suits, wear sunglasses, or don some inconvenient mascot outfits and vision-obstructing doll masks on such a dangerous island.

...

The only two members in the entire guild who looked somewhat normal were Fluffy Bunny and Mo Shigui.

What made Lyla feel the most desperate was… she was listening to this bunch of people spouting nonsense, literally using her life to chat with them.

Under the effect of Burning Blood, Lyla had already burned through about three years of her lifespan in just around a minute.

If she continued listening to this crowd, she feared she might die while still in the state of Burning Blood.

“You guys better run!” Lyla yelled at the top of her lungs, running out of patience with these baffling people.

“Is that so?”

Upon hearing Lyla’s shout, Mo Shigui let out a long sigh, and just when Lyla thought Mo Shigui had finally come to his senses and decided to flee…

His hand reached into his epic shield “Honor Rampart,” and with the sound of a blade slashing through steel and a flash of arc light, a pale golden longsword was pulled out from the shield by Mo Shigui.

“All members, prepare to engage the enemy! Rain Song! Take position at four o’clock. Your team handles target number one. Dog Bark! Position at twelve o’clock, your team is responsible for target number two! Fluffy Bunny and White Birch, buff the entire team.”

Mo Shigui quickly issued commands to his team through voice chat, charging toward the third Flash Wolf himself, shield ablaze with intense light during the charge.

In an instant, he slammed into the largest Flash Wolf, throwing its body off balance, and then shouted to the group of players behind him who had yet to make a move…

“Cola Fanatics! The fourth one is yours! Don’t bring shame to your guild leader!”

“The Dancing Nuclear is looking down on us, eh? How are we gonna play this, Coffee Boss?”

“Charge the hell in! Pig Head, watch the palm!”

Coffee, who had been revived by the Resurrection Technique, directly unleashed a Falling Flower Palm on the fourth Flash Wolf.

What’s happening? What’s going on?

Lyla felt her eyes couldn’t keep up; she kept turning her head left and right, and in less than ten seconds… those who had been standing still in their strange fluffy toy outfits were suddenly dancing.

It was indeed dancing, and steps Lyla had never seen before, but the moment Mo Shigui shouted “engage the enemy,” this group who could potentially contend for the title of Otherworld Dance Kings instantly pulled out various bizarre weapons, each one larger than the last.

What amazed Lyla the most was the speed and accuracy of their execution of orders. The twenty-seven people instantly divided into four squads to face the four Flash Wolves.

These squads were not haphazardly formed; each one had a shield-bearer to take on the damage, a magic class for damage output, and a variety of other strange professions.

Lyla felt that her own guard … probably couldn’t accomplish that level of command execution speed.

But the current issue wasn’t the team’s execution power. The question was whether this small group of only twenty-seven people could withstand the assault of four Mutated Flash Wolves.

And the reality told Lyla, they actually could withstand it! And they were doing it while laughing and joking?

「Flash Wolf, Level: 49, Elite Mutant Creature, Species: Beast Fang Crystalline, Description: This creature, which has devoured a large number of Crystals, has evolved. Its crystallized carapace can store vast amounts of electricity.」

To Mo Shigui, a level 49 elite creature was something he could handle solo, but it seemed that creatures on Biland Island had twice the health of those from the Holy Spirit’s original plane and a bit higher in attack as well.

In balancing, the creatures on Biland Island have a more realistic destructive feedback…

Mo Shigui slashed his longsword, shattering the crystal spikes covering the Flash Wolf, and as his blade plunged into the creature’s flesh. At that moment, Mo Shigui truly felt the resistance of blade against flesh, providing a sense of impact slightly more realistic than that of the Holy Spirit.

“Black Pot, awaken!” Mo Shigui called out to his teammate Black Pot Cooking Meat, the damage dealer in his squad.

“Got it, got it! Make way!”

Black Pot Cooking Meat’s class was Wandering Gunman, the character among the four gunman advanced classes with the fastest attack speed.

The core of the Wandering Gunman is… coolness, and beyond that, there isn’t much else; the profession’s main focus is on gunfighting and Fancy Gun Skills.

If all the classes in Otherworld were to be ranked by their backstory, the combat power in the Wandering Gunman’s story would definitely be at the bottom. Yet, in the game, the Wandering Gunman is a class that requires equipment to support its high output and is therefore tailored for wealthy players.

Black Pot Meat Stew was one such wealthy player.

“SHOW·TIME!”

Black Pot Meat Stew activated his awakening skill as a Wandering Gunman, going on a mad slaughter.

The +13 epic revolver in his hand, plated with silver, pointed at the Mutated Flash Wolves in front of Mo Shigui. The bullets rained out of the revolver like a violent storm.

In that moment, Black Pot Meat Stew’s pistol seemed to transform into some kind of… rapid-fire machine gun, with a multitude of casings ejecting from the cylinder too fast for the naked eye to follow.

The sparks coming from the silver-plated revolver’s muzzle showed no signs of stopping, and the targeted Mutated Flash Wolf fared even worse.

Its body, covered in Crystals, was instantly hit by hundreds of bullets. However, the shots caused no physical injury, and even the Mutated Flash Wolf’s movements froze on the spot.

As if time had stopped for the Mutated Flash Wolf at that moment, the only thing moving was the revolver in Black Pot Meat Stew’s hand, with damage numbers like -912, -812, -1034 popping up above its head.

What… what the hell is this?

Lyla felt that ever since these people showed up, she had been just watching the show, because it was simply too thrilling.

Lyla felt that she had seen more wonders today than in her entire life, and what she found inconceivable now was the revolver in Black Pot Meat Stew’s hand.

This world had already entered the industrial revolution, with things like magic-powered trains and railways, so naturally, there were firearms.

But the strong in this world could resist bullets with their bodies, and many could slice them with a sword, so magical firearms were only considered weapons for guards.

Such monster-class Mutated Flash Wolves couldn’t be penetrated by their magical firearms.

But the biggest issue in Lyla’s mind was… shouldn’t semi-automatic pistols only fire one shot at a time? Don’t revolvers have just six bullets? Where did this guy get so many bullets from? Did the ammo slot contain a dimensional space?

As these thoughts flooded Lyla’s mind, Black Pot Meat Stew had already leapt into the air. After releasing one last Chaotic Rain of Bullets, he landed steadily on the ground.

Black Pot Meat Stew faced Lyla and, amidst the tense battle, performed a perfect hat-tipping gesture.

As Black Pot Meat Stew took off his hat for his curtain call, the Crystals on the immobilized Mutated Flash Wolf shattered, and a torrent of blood sprayed from its body.

Black Pot Meat Stew, busy showing off, had forgotten a critical detail—that the Mutated Flash Wolf wasn’t dead yet.

The severely wounded Mutated Flash Wolf roared in anger and, accompanied by a thunderous sound, lunged at Black Pot Meat Stew, biting off his head… And Lyla watched on as the legendary Wandering Gunman’s head was bitten off.

The hat in Black Pot Meat Stew’s hand fell to the ground.

Just like that, he was dead!?

“Damn! Black Pot forgot to cancel the skill’s recovery animation!”

“Fluffy Bunny, keep adding BUFFs, and stay on top of the damage output; it won’t last much longer!”

Mo Shigui, as if it were business as usual, continued to attack the Mutated Flash Wolf with his shield.

One annoying thing about the Wandering Gunman’s awakening is… there’s a bow-out recovery animation that players can set to a snap of the fingers or a hat-tipping gesture, for example.

Black Pot Meat Stew, in an effort to impress Lyla, had risked his life!

“The Resurrection Technique is still on cooldown; Guild Leader, should I use my awakening to finish off this Mutated Flash Wolf?” Fluffy Bunny said.

“No need, another couple of damage cycles and it will be dead,” Mo Shigui replied.

The awakening skills in Otherworld are powerful, but their cooldown times are so long they’re disheartening, and the cost is high too. A Wandering Gunman’s awakening requires a three-hour cooldown, and some even more powerful awakenings need a full day, like Fluffy Bunny’s, which has a twenty-four-hour cooldown.

Now, during the pioneering stage, awakenings are like nuclear weapons, to be conserved if possible.

As Mo Shigui was thinking this, two more howls of Mutated Flash Wolves came from afar.

“Soldiers! Charge.” Seeing that someone had already sacrificed themselves, Lyla felt she couldn’t just watch the fight while under the effect of Burning Blood, for at the very least, she had to kill a Mutated Flash Wolf, or else it would be too shameful for the ten years she burned off her life.
