Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Wishing You a Happy Marriage into the Sterling Family and a Lifetime of Happiness with Ian Sterling

Elias Spencer never played this game with them; it was no fun. But seeing Summer Nolan playing, he picked up a dice cup from under the table.

All the employees were surprised. Attorney Spencer usually didn’t like to play this, but it seemed he was in a good mood today.

Just as Elias Spencer placed the dice cup on the table, Summer Nolan glanced at the time on her wrist and said, "It’s already past ten, I should be going. You guys enjoy."

"It’s still early, Attorney Nolan, won’t you play a bit more?" a colleague asked.

"You guys go ahead. I’ll settle the bill; anything over, just put it on my tab." She said, picking up her phone and handbag before leaving the private room.

Elias Spencer watched her indifferent back... Was she jealous and angry again?

He wanted to get up and chase after her, but with so many employees watching, one called out to him, "Attorney Spencer, come on!"

He could only play a few rounds with them.

When Summer Nolan got home, Mrs. Nolan was sitting on the sofa with a face mask, and excitedly asked,

"Did you see the scandal about Sean Sterling today? It’s hilarious. Who would have thought he’s actually GAY, and caught in the act by the media, it’s so embarrassing!"

"I planned it, wouldn’t I know?" She said as she sat on the sofa.

"You planned it?" Mrs. Nolan’s eyes widened with surprise. Her daughter was truly amazing; this was more satisfying than taking down that old man directly.

Concerned, she asked, "Will that old guy find out it was you?"

"Probably not, but just in case, you shouldn’t go out too often for a while. Be more careful. I’m planning to hire two bodyguards, one for you.

Do you want a male or female bodyguard?" Summer Nolan asked her mom.

"Of course a male, preferably handsome and cool. I don’t want an ugly one."

Mrs. Nolan accepted without hesitation and added a small request. Having a handsome bodyguard accompany her shopping, going to the gym, or playing cards with her friends would be so cool.

Summer Nolan looked at her mom and a row of black lines appeared on her forehead, "You can’t flirt with the young guys. I don’t want a young stepdad."

"If I wanted to, you would’ve had a stepdad a long time ago."

She said with a pout, and suddenly the doorbell rang. Summer Nolan got up to go to the door, peeked through the peephole, and as expected, it was Elias Spencer! She didn’t plan to open the door.

"Who is it? Why aren’t you opening the door?"

"It’s that Spencer guy. Don’t open the door for him." Summer Nolan said to her mother. The man outside the door faintly heard Summer’s words and frowned.

"What’s going on between you two?" Mrs. Nolan curiously asked.

Afraid her mom would side with that man, Summer deliberately said, "He’s flirting with his assistant and then comes to find me. Should I bother with him?"

"How could Attorney Spencer be such a person, then you shouldn’t bother with him. Luckily, we have a backup plan." Mrs. Nolan felt a bit disappointed in Attorney Spencer.

How could he be ambiguous with an assistant?

"Don’t let him in, and don’t bother with him. I’m going to take a bath." Summer Nolan said to her mom and went back to her room.

Outside the door, Elias Spencer took out his phone to call her, but after a long wait, there was no answer—great, now he couldn’t coax her.

He rang the doorbell again, but no one came to open it.

Did Aunt Nolan misunderstand him too, ignoring him?

Suddenly, he thought of his mother, walked a few paces away, and called her, saying, "Mom, could you call Summer and ask her out for a few drinks?"

Mrs. Spencer was sitting on the sofa, sipping freshly brewed coffee and watching TV with her husband. Hearing her son’s words, she raised an eyebrow and asked,

"Why, couldn’t you ask her out yourself?"

"She’s mad at me." Elias Spencer said in a low voice.

"What did you do to make her angry?" Mrs. Spencer curiously asked. The mature, steady, and cool-looking middle-aged man beside her couldn’t help but glance at her.

Jason Spencer had heard about Summer Nolan from his wife. She seemed to have a distinct character, and he had searched her online. She was quite famous in the legal world, pretty good-looking too, just from an ordinary family background.

"I just went to the hospital to see a colleague." He didn’t do anything with his assistant, just went to see her, so why was Summer mad?

"That colleague must be female, right? Why go see a female colleague out of nowhere, since when were you so kind-hearted?"

Mrs. Spencer was very perceptive; her son must have an unusual relationship with that female colleague, otherwise, why would he go see her?

So, it was normal for Summer not to talk to him.

"Are you going to help or not?" Elias Spencer asked, one hand in his pocket, lighting a cigarette.

"No, you need to reflect on yourself." Mrs. Spencer hung up on her son. Even if she managed to call Summer out tonight, she wouldn’t forgive him so quickly anyway.

Jason Spencer glanced at her, surprised, and asked, "You approve of this Summer Nolan?"

"What choice do I have? Your precious son has set his sights on her. If he keeps joking around on blind dates, with time, Summer Nolan will only grow colder towards him.

By then, not only won’t he win her back, but we also won’t have any grandkids." Mrs. Spencer sighed.

Is there any way to get them back together?

"Is it that Summer Nolan doesn’t fancy our son?" Jason Spencer asked, surprised.

"She has the looks and the physique, can make her own money, and isn’t short of men around her. Why must she like your son?

Iris Lynn is also pursuing her, and the elite circles are just that big. If she really marries that man, won’t he constantly show off in front of us in the future?"

Mrs. Spencer felt sorry for her son, fearing he might lose his wife to someone else and be deeply hurt.

"Call Summer over tomorrow, I’d like to meet her." Jason Spencer wanted to meet her after hearing his wife’s high praise.

"Weren’t we going to offer the firm’s legal affairs agency to her? Have her come tomorrow to sign the contract." Mrs. Spencer said, and dialed Summer’s number.

After a long ring, there was no answer.

Asleep?

She sent her a message instead.

The next morning.

Summer Nolan arrived at the law firm early, hastening to get the contract ready. She only saw Mrs. Spencer’s message after her bath last night.

Elias Spencer entered her office, explained coldly, "I just went to the hospital to see Iris Lynn, nothing else."

Summer Nolan looked at him, her expression calm, her tone calm and composed,

"It’s Attorney Spencer’s freedom, no need to explain to me. We’re not a couple. Besides, this is a workplace, let’s not discuss personal matters."

"How many times have you secretly met Ian Sterling?" Elias Spencer asked in a cold tone.

"...I don’t need your forgiveness." She looked at him and said.

"I was just overthinking, then. I wish you an early marriage into the Sterling Family, and a long and happy marriage with Ian Sterling." He gave a faint smile, turned, and left her office.
