Ruling the Historical Romance Novel as the Female Supporting Character-Chapter 244: She’s Not Very Useful When She Talks
Su Yijia couldn’t figure it out, so she just opened the window. Fortunately, the train was almost at the station, so the speed had slowed down. However, the strong fragrance in the air couldn’t seem to dissipate. She had to first take the document bag from Xia Weiguo’s hand and then push Qin Kaize into the next compartment.
"666, what did they use?" Su Yijia asked.
[It’s a tranquilizer, no harm done, but it’s very effective.]
"Can you neutralize it?" Su Yijia was initially worried it might be poison, but upon hearing it was a tranquilizer, she immediately felt relieved. However, it seemed quite realistic, just like in the TV shows, to have a drug spread through the air.
[It will deduct from your daily points, and there’s no specific antidote. How should we explain this?] 666 reminded her.
Su Yijia thought for a moment but ultimately gave up. She really couldn’t explain how she could come up with an antidote in just a few minutes. If someone wanted her to hand over the antidote for future use, it wouldn’t hold up. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
She opened the connecting door between the compartments, startling the two people guarding on the other side.
"Comrade Su, what happened?"
"The three people in our compartment suddenly attacked us when they saw we were getting off the train. Now, except for me, everyone else is unconscious. I took down those three people. Also, we have a comrade who’s injured. We need to get off the train quickly," Su Yijia explained as she handed Qin Kaize over to them.
She carried the document bag and went back to bring the others out. The two guards quickly followed her, but she stopped them.
"There’s still a drug in there. I’ll carry the people out first, and you wait here," she said.
With one injured, over a dozen unconscious, and one to support while carrying luggage, if any more people fainted, they would really have to wait at the station for someone to pick them up. Who knew if there were still people hiding in the train?
The two listened to her and quickly pushed Qin Kaize into the other compartment. Su Yijia went back and forth eight times to carry everyone out. Of course, she didn’t forget about the three people who attacked them.
Fortunately, the train stopped at the station for a relatively long time, and they managed to get everyone off in the last two minutes. The previously noisy train suddenly became restless as they departed.
Su Yijia looked back but didn’t see anyone suspicious. However, she couldn’t carefully distinguish now. The train was about to depart, and whether she could get on and off safely was a problem, especially with those desperate people likely to cause trouble.
She withdrew her gaze, stopped overthinking, and hurriedly left with Qin Kaize. They borrowed a phone at the station and sat in the staff lounge. Only two comrades took the injured person to the hospital. The others waited for over two hours until the vehicle they borrowed finally arrived. However, there was no other way; the team was mostly stationed in the mountains.
It wasn’t as convenient to leave as it was in Xinghua Village. Even if there were roads, they were quite far away. After checking their documents and files, they didn’t dare to linger and left directly in three military jeeps and trucks. They only took turns resting on the way and didn’t stay overnight in any city. Qin Kaize and the others woke up six hours later. The first thing he did when he opened his eyes was to lose all color in his face. It wasn’t until he felt the familiar figure leaning against him that his heartbeat returned to normal.
"Jiajia, are you okay? What happened after I fainted?" Qin Kaize reached out and hugged Su Yijia tightly, his voice trembling with fear.
"Their drug didn’t work on me. So, at the moment when you all were unconscious, they were also knocked out by my drug," Su Yijia said as she hugged his waist, patting his back to comfort him.
"What about your injury?" Qin Kaize’s fingers touched her side in the darkness of the compartment. Since Su Yijia hadn’t had a chance to change her clothes yet, he could directly feel the location of the wound. There was no wound there now, let alone scabs.
"Feeling better now?" Su Yijia chuckled lightly, burying her head in his neck and rubbing against it. With the familiar scent, her arms around him tightened slightly.
After several minutes, Qin Kaize relaxed a little.
"Yeah, now that we’ve changed trains, although the journey will take longer, there are many possible routes, and they have no way to track us," he said, secretly kissing Su Yijia’s cheek in the darkness.
"We have to thank Jiajia. Without your reminder, not only would we have been affected, but even the ordinary people on the train would have been injured," he added.
"But why did that Miao Qingtian tell me all those things?" Su Yijia felt a headache coming on whenever she thought about this question. She had been thinking about it the whole way, but couldn’t figure it out.
"We’ll know once we’re awake and can ask her," Qin Kaize said, not concerned about those three people. From the moment the mission failed, they were already expendable.
Thinking about it, Su Yijia followed Qin Kaize’s lead and didn’t dwell on the matter any longer.
The three people woke up a few times on the way but were knocked out again by Su Yijia using a tranquilizer. It wasn’t until they reached the headquarters of the Fu Province in their unit that they finally came to their senses.
Su Yijia took a shower, too tired to even eat, and went back to the room prepared for her. Before she could climb into bed, there was a knock on the door.
"Comrade Su."
Unable to contain her impatience, Su Yijia calmed down. She opened the door and saw two comrades standing apologetically at the door.
"The person named Miao Qingtian said she needs to talk to you."
"Okay," Su Yijia replied wearily. Although she was curious about what that woman meant, after four days of bumping around on the train, all she wanted to do now was lie down and sleep.
Following the two comrades through various twists and turns, they finally arrived at the interrogation room. Miao Qingtian lowered her head, shrouded in darkness under the bright lights.
"Do you have something to tell me?" Su Yijia sat across from her, separated by a metal grille.
"Shouldn’t you be grateful to me? If it weren’t for my reminder, you wouldn’t have escaped, and even the people in the entire train carriage wouldn’t have escaped," Miao Qingtian said, lifting her head and calmly meeting Su Yijia’s gaze.
Someone who didn’t know might think this was a prearranged condition.
"You only said there would be a disaster within twenty-four hours. This has already been fulfilled," Su Yijia replied confidently, clearly not acknowledging that Miao Qingtian’s reminder was what allowed them to be prepared in advance. Refusing to deal with bad people should be a basic principle, right? Besides, she had never promised to spare this woman’s life. What’s more, the matter they committed was not something she could influence.
But Miao Qingtian apparently didn’t expect Su Yijia to say such words. Her eyes widened in disbelief, but she quickly calmed down.
"All right, even if you don’t want to spare me, Qiu Boyan originally wanted me to use deadly poison. It was me who replaced it with a tranquilizer behind his back so you could all survive. I was completely forced. Isn’t this enough to make you help me?" Miao Qingtian stared at Su Yijia, her gaze unwavering.
