To find out, the only thing Aaron could do was wait. When Lewis came back and told Aaron everything, he already knew.

After everyone had gathered, the committee started the drawing of the number. Lewis’ draw number was 12 while Karen’s was 5, still the same as before.

The draw for the first match brought together participants from the Night Sword against participants from the Blood Fang. Then it continued with the next match until the 5th match which matched Karen against a participant from the Rain Palace.

In another match, the last match to be exact. Lewis got an enemy from the Mighty Shark group. Lewis reflexively turned his head to the side, seeing a smiling Rosso waving at him.

"Be careful, Lewis. Always be aware of the possibilities that can happen," Aaron explained, Lewis listening carefully.

The referee started the matches in the second round of the pre-qualifiers. Karen and Lewis watched the matches from the stands, they could feel that the strength of the second round participants was much greater than the first round.

"Their strength has increased," Karen said.

"That’s possible, considering there was a break from yesterday after the first round was over. It’s possible that they practiced hard for this second round," Aaron explained.

"Maybe. We never know how they prepared."

The first match was won by a participant from the Blood Fang group. The second and subsequent matches were held in turn. Aaron could time their matches, the average match time was 20 minutes.

"We’ll move on to the 5th match, which pits Karen of Shadow Ruler against Lily of Rain Palace," explained the referee, announcing the names of the participants in the 5th match using the microphone.

Karen rose from her seat, asking Aaron and the others for support. Aaron smiled, allowing Karen to go out and compete to the best of her ability.

The woman with the flame sword talent appeared from the right, while Lily appeared from the left. Both were wearing different outfits: Karen wore a casual black T-shirt while Lily wore a cloud-print uniform with a gray color background.

"The rules are still the same as before. Whoever gives up, loses. Do you understand?" the referee asked, and Karen and Lily nodded in agreement.

The referee went back outside the arena, Karen jumped away, and so did Lily. Once both participants were ready to fight, the bell was rung and the match began.

Lily, surprisingly, took out an ash-colored slip and let it float in front of her. The woman sent a speck of her magic power into the slip and activated the magic embedded in the object.

Instantly, the situation inside the arena turned foggy with rain drizzling down the arena floor. Lily disappeared into the mist and moved quickly like a black shadow.

Although some people could not follow her moves, but it was different with Aaron. Through his eyes, he was able to locate her.

Her movements were fast, but she might not be able to beat Karen. Now, it all depended on the woman, whether she could defeat Lily or not? Experience new tales on novelbuddy

"The situation has become unfavorable. Will Karen be able to handle it?" asked Sara, curious.

"I don’t know. If she flinches, she’ll have a hard time," Aaron replied, glancing at Karen, "However, Karen is not a woman who gives up easily. She can definitely solve this problem."

’This fog and drizzling rain isn’t completely harmless. Just need to find that slip and destroy it, then all those effects will disappear,’ Aaron explained.

’Does she know about this?

Karen was still frozen in place, deflecting several magic attacks from Lily with her flaming sword. She could still hold out for a few hits, but if Karen didn’t act soon, Lily would find her weakness and take advantage of it.

In the end, that weakness would lead to her defeat. Of course Karen didn’t want that to happen.

In Karen’s eyes, she saw several black shadows moving in and out of the mist, moving fast even though she could still keep up with Lily’s movement speed.

Karen began to flow fire magic into her sword, then slashed horizontally forward in the hope that the scythe cut would hit Lily’s body. However, her attack was in vain. Lily was unaffected, the attack only hit the fog that parted.

Surprisingly, Lily was right behind Karen’s body. Sara shouted to Karen, Karen responded by pointing her sword in defense.

BLAST!

Lily’s magic blast hit Karen’s sword blade. Karen who was unprepared was forced to take significant damage, causing her to be pushed quite far forward.

Lily smiled through the fog. She had found Karen’s blind spot, she was going to exploit it while Karen had yet to find her weak spot.

Karen fell to her knees, vomiting a little blood as she clutched her sore chest. She rested on her flaming sword, trying to focus her vision to find Lily’s whereabouts.

Aaron stood up from the stands, stepping closer to the arena wall to the surprise of the others. The man’s attention was focused on the magic slip floating in the air, right in the center of the arena.

"Karen!" called Aaron.

The woman turned her head in response to Aaron’s call, "What?"

"Destroy that magic slip, then you can fight Lily easily."

"The slip is in the sky, right in the center of the arena," Aaron explained.

Several people from the Rain Palace group were surprised, not expecting an outsider to know the whereabouts of the slip. Lily also stopped her movements, turning her head and staring intently at Aaron.

’How did he know?’ asked Lily, shocked.

Karen saw the responses of the Rain Palace members. They looked surprised after Aaron said so, proving that what Aaron said was indeed true. Karen stood up straight and began to focus her target, not on Lily but on finding the magic slip.

The woman gripped her flaming sword tightly, then swung randomly to send successive scythe attacks upwards in the center of the arena. Several of her strikes managed to hit the slip, the object splitting and shattering.

The illusion of mist and drizzling rain faded away. Lily jumped away to the other side of the arena, away from Karen. Slowly, Karen could see Lily’s whereabouts clearly. She could no longer hide behind the mist.

Some of the Rain Palace members advised that Lily should start considering defense and look for moments to counterattack. They knew very well how Karen’s fighting style was.

Aaron smiled. The man no longer felt anxious about Karen’s situation. With a fight without the barrier illusion, Karen was invincible.

Karen raised her flaming sword, creating the impression of burning embers from the blade. She pointed the tip of the blade at Lily.

"No mist can protect you anymore."

"Now, it’s my turn to defeat you!"
