Rose Manor: Tycoon's Relentless Chase-Chapter 362 - 340: Make Her Disappear
After nearly fourteen hours of flying, the plane finally landed. This performance was very important, so the manager personally led the team and had arranged several business cars in advance to pick them up at the airport and take them to the booked hotel.
The band had booked standard rooms, with two people sharing one room.
Shen Jianian and Wen Ran stayed together, and after putting down their things, they took turns to use the bathroom to freshen up.
It was just after 9 a.m. local time. While waiting for Wen Ran to finish in the bathroom, Shen Jianian sent Fu Jichen a message to let him know she was safe and also snapped a photo of the view outside the hotel window to show him.
They chatted a little on WeChat, and then Wen Ran came out of the bathroom, allowing Shen Jianian to go in.
Wen Ran wiped her face with a face towel, glanced at the neatly organized suitcase Shen Jianian had opened on the floor, and saw various items arranged tidily. Nearby, there was her cello, said to be worth tens of millions, bought at an auction and previously used by world-class pianist Yan Qiusheng. Speaking of which, Shen Jianian is a disciple of Yan Qiusheng—really fortunate.
The phone chimed several times, pulling Wen Ran’s thoughts back. She picked up the phone from the bed.
Messages were being sent in the band’s group chat, and the manager was calling everyone to the downstairs restaurant for a meal and then back to rest.
Wen Ran looked towards the bathroom and called out, "Jianian, Old Xie called us to the 13th-floor buffet restaurant to eat."
Shen Jianian had just finished in the bathroom, as she was on her period, and was a bit slow. Worried about making others wait too long, she said, "You go ahead and eat, I’ll come a bit later."
Wen Ran replied "Oh", didn’t wait for her, and left first, just in time to meet two girls coming out of the neighboring room, so she went with them.
Both girls were from the woodwind section—one played the flute, the other the oboe, and like Wen Ran, they had been in this symphony orchestra for some years.
The two glanced at the room behind Wen Ran and, seeing she came out alone, one of the girls playing the flute asked, "Where’s Shen Jianian who’s staying with you, isn’t she coming to eat?"
Wen Ran closed the door and replied with a nonchalant tone, "Still tidying up in the bathroom."
The oboe player touched her cheek and said with a mix of envy and jealousy, "No wonder her skin is so good. She lives much more elegantly than us. Unlike me, I just wash my face with cold water and come out as soon as I hear it’s time to eat."
The three of them chatted as they walked towards the elevator, pressed the down button, and the elevator arrived on their floor in two seconds.
The elevator doors opened to both sides, and inside stood a woman wearing white-framed sunglasses, dressed very fashionably.
The three entered the elevator and continued their previous conversation.
Wen Ran picked up on the emotions in the oboe player’s words and chimed in, "She’s the CEO’s wife, how can we ordinary people compare?"
As soon as she said this, the woman in sunglasses in the elevator showed a hint of something unusual. She raised a hand to adjust her sunglasses, her eyes turning to the three talking.
"Yeah, really," the oboe player said sarcastically, "I saw online that after she got disfigured, she had reconstructive surgery. I’ve seen her old photos, she looks so different now. I wonder which doctor she went to, the technique is so advanced, you can’t see any traces of reconstruction on her face."
"Why are you curious about that? Don’t tell me you’re thinking of having plastic surgery too?"
"Haha, I’m just a little curious. I don’t have the money for plastic surgery."
"If you’re curious, you can ask her yourself. She might tell you if she’s in a good mood."
"Get out of here, do you think I’m that lacking in emotional intelligence?"
The elevator stopped on the 13th floor, and the three walked out, changing the topic.
The woman in sunglasses also got off the elevator and followed their path towards the buffet restaurant.
If Shen Jianian were here, she might recognize that the woman in sunglasses was Yin Shuyao, who shouldn’t have been here.

Wen Ran had a sumptuous buffet with the band members, and shortly before finishing, Shen Jianian showed up quite late. She didn’t join them at their table, instead, she grabbed food with her tray and sat alone by the window, looking at her phone seemingly chatting with someone.
A faint smile occasionally appeared on Shen Jianian’s innocent-looking face. Wen Ran guessed that she must be messaging her husband.
Wen Ran withdrew her gaze, put down her fork, picked up a napkin to wipe her mouth, and said, "I’m going to the bathroom, is anyone else coming?"
The other two shook their heads and said they were not going.
Wen Ran went to the bathroom alone, as the dining time was unusual, neither morning nor afternoon, so there weren’t many people in the bathroom on this floor. She came out of the stall and stood at the sink washing her hands.
The door of another stall opened behind her, and a young woman in a white CHANEL dress came out, applying lipstick in front of the large mirror above the sink.
Wen Ran’s gaze lingered on the woman through the mirror for a few more seconds. At first, she thought the dress looked familiar, and it wasn’t until the woman finished applying her lipstick and put the cap back on, tucking it into her bag, that Wen Ran noticed a leather glasses case hanging from the chain of her bag. She suddenly remembered: this was the woman wearing sunglasses in the elevator.
Yin Shuyao rubbed away the excess lipstick from the corner of her lips with her fingertip, pulled out two tissues to wipe her hands, and glanced at Wen Ran through the mirror, naturally recognizing her as one of the girls who had badmouthed Shen Jianian in the elevator.
As guessed, they were probably in the same orchestra as Shen Jianian.
"Shen Jianian is really someone to be jealous of, right?"
As Wen Ran turned to leave, the woman suddenly spoke up. She spoke in Chinese, indicating she had heard their conversation in the elevator about Shen Jianian. Especially since she accurately mentioned Shen Jianian’s name, Wen Ran’s face turned pale instantly, her lips trembling, unsure of what to say.
Yin Shuyao saw her panic-stricken expression in the mirror and chuckled, turning around, raising the corner of her lips to ask her, "Am I wrong?"
The shade of retro red she had just applied was as rich as blood, and her smile carried a hint of wickedness, chilling to the core.
"Don’t be nervous." Yin Shuyao’s smile grew deeper, "I hate her too, just like you, wish she would disappear. After all, why would she leave her position as the president’s wife to snatch another’s job?"
The wariness in Wen Ran’s eyes slowly diminished with her words, and she turned her head, "You know Shen Jianian?"
"More than just knowing, we have deep history together." The coldness in Yin Shuyao’s eyes flashed briefly, speaking quite bluntly, "This performance of yours must be important, right? Find a way to stop her from going on stage, and wouldn’t you stand out alone? If she fails at such a crucial moment, your manager will probably blacklist her, right? After all, no one wants someone who chokes during crunch time, even if she’s the president’s wife of Jun Mountain."
"Stand out alone" kept floating through Wen Ran’s mind, causing her to waver a bit.
Their performance was an orchestral piece, and at its climax, there would be a solo, with Shen Jianian playing the cello. If she had issues and couldn’t perform, based on seniority, she would replace Shen Jianian and not another male member.
The more Wen Ran thought, the more tumultuous her emotions became, with even her fingertips trembling slightly.
Seeing the timing was ripe, Yin Shuyao retrieved a small medicine bottle from her bag and placed it in her hand.
Wen Ran, in a daze, looked down and gradually focused her blurred vision on the object in her hand. It was a small transparent glass bottle containing a few white pills. She was startled, her voice almost not her own, "What is this..."
"Don’t worry, just ordinary stomach medicine. It will cause stomach discomfort, and she won’t be able to perform." Yin Shuyao explained gently, as if she weren’t enticing someone into wrongdoing, "I just want to give her a little lesson, and you’ll get what you want. Why not?"
Wen Ran closed her fingers, gripping the small bottle tightly.
Knowing the fish had taken the bait, Yin Shuyao’s lips curled slightly. She took out sunglasses from the glasses case hanging on her chain bag, put them on, and walked away elegantly in high heels.
Originally, she planned to act herself. They were abroad, with no bodyguards by Shen Jianian’s side; it would be discreet and undetectable afterward. Now, even fate helped her, accidentally bumping into a woman equally jealous of Shen Jianian who could serve as her scapegoat.
Even if exposed, Shen Jianian would have fallen by then, and this woman wouldn’t dare to say much.
Shen Jianian, go to hell...
Wen Ran put the medicine bottle into her pocket, full of thoughts as she returned to the restaurant. The other two companions had finished eating, sitting and drinking tea, chatting. Seeing Wen Ran returning, they casually asked, "Why did you take so long?"
Wen Ran shook her head, said nothing, sat down, and gulped down the juice in her cup, her fingers instinctively touching the item in her pocket, confirming to herself that everything just now wasn’t a dream.
After finishing their meal, the three went upstairs together, each returning to their rooms to rest.
Wen Ran found a place to hide the medicine bottle, lay on her bed, closed her eyes, but didn’t sleep. After about half an hour, there was a knock at the door.
She climbed out of bed and opened the door; it was Shen Jianian returning after dinner. Shen Jianian looked up at her with an apologetic smile, "Did I disturb your sleep?"
Wen Ran pressed her lips together and shook her head, stepping aside, and after she entered, closed the door.
