Rogue Villain-Chapter 381: Who
The Hero looked at Eris for another moment before a corner of his lip rose in disgust. But before he could snap Eris’ neck and toss her to the side like a piece of trash, something flashed past and severed his wrist like it was clay.
Eris and The Hero’s hand dropped to the ground. Eris hurriedly scrambled back, frightened by the cold eyes of The Hero. He had always had a cold and unfriendly air about him. But The Hero fought for the greater good. He had just been through too much to care about the lives of insects who got in his way.
But now, it was like The Hero looked at everything like it was disgusting filth that he would rather burn than even look at, including the party members he had gone through hell with.
Eris massaged her neck as she looked at the shirtless, blue-haired man standing between her and The Hero. The Hero had tried to kill her—No, that wasn’t The Hero. She refused to believe it.
*Get out of here!*
Ackster shouted at The Hero’s party to move with telepathy. They were stunned by the change of events, including the fact that Ackster seemed to have been the one to decapitate The Hero, based on his instantaneous arrival.
Ackster’s mental shout rocked their minds, and Dala and the others stopped looking at The Hero and Eris in shock. However, they didn’t retreat. They picked up their tired bodies and got ready for combat.
They didn’t know what was going on, but they were members of The Hero’s party. Regardless of what was going on now, they had saved the world at least once. They weren’t going to step back when their leader, The Hero, had just tried to kill one of them. There was also the stranger who had tried to kill The Hero but failed.
Whoever it was, they were going to fight one of them. Or maybe both.
Ackster held back a sigh as The Hero’s hand melted and turned into white light that returned to his wrist and took the shape of a hand before regaining its appearance as a human hand.
*You’re in the way. I won’t save you.*
Ackster’s words seemed to confirm what The Hero’s party began feeling when they looked at the white-haired Hero. They weren’t just tired.
The Hero had started exuding a pressure that surpassed anything they had felt from him before, even when he was so enraged he lost control. He had also instantly recovered his severed hand with a strange power they hadn’t seen him use before. It was faster than any time Eris had healed any of them.
But The Hero’s party wouldn’t be The Hero’s party if they stepped down in the face of strong enemies.
This time, Ackster sighed before unsealing part of his physical strength as he dashed forward and, with moves as smooth as water, cut down. His sword rose like a wave before crashing down like one right on top of The Hero’s head.
However, The Hero raised his own sword and blocked Ackster’s attack.
Ackster’s senses were still extremely limited. But he could tell without even looking that The Hero’s move lacked finesse or technique.
It was fast and powerful. But The Hero was an expert swordsman enough to earn the Sword God’s attention. Such an amateurish defense where he just held up his sword to stop Ackster’s attack wasn’t something The Hero would even think to do.
The Hero would parry and push aside Ackster’s sword, destabilizing him before counter-attacking. If Ackster were strong enough for that not to work, The Hero would just sidestep and wait for an opening.
However, the white-haired Hero did no such tricks. It pushed back against Ackster’s pitch-black sword with brute force. And it worked.
The Hero’s body brimmed with foreign power—the power of Millmeria itself fueled The Hero and gave him strength his party couldn’t believe.
Just by standing in place, The Hero cracked the ground around him.
Ackster feigned pushing down before pulling back his sword, lowering it, and thrusting forward. As long as he could nick The Hero, his Demon Sword would drain The Hero of his power. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
If Shanshi were right and the Demon Sword was at least a duke, it would work even against the power of the world.
However, The Hero turned to the side and let Ackster’s sword pass him by. Before Ackster could turn his sword and slash horizontally, The Hero brought down his sword on Ackster’s arm.
Ackster let The Hero cut off his arm as he lunged forward and knocked The Hero’s jaw off with a rippling strike. He tried to imagine The Hero as a being of water. But it didn’t work. The world power was too dense and ignored the mental image Ackster tried to bathe The Hero in.
The Hero stumbled back as Ackster’s arm flew back up to him and reattached itself.
The Hero rubbed his chin as the jaw came back in a trickle of white light.
"Hoh? There’s no hesitation in your attacks despite attacking The Hero, the beloved Hero who saved your world. What? Do you have a grudge? Were you hoping to settle the score when The Calamity died and The Hero was at his weakest?"
Ackster glanced upward at the sky. The world power was just pouring in. He wanted to end it as quickly as possible, but it wasn’t time quite yet. This much wouldn’t be enough.
Ackster looked at The Hero again.
"What are you talking about? You’re talking like you aren’t The Hero. Who or what are you?"
Ackster already knew, but he needed to stall. And fighting would only give The Hero a chance to adapt to the power filling his body.
The Hero held his arms to his side and looked at his body, showing it off at the same time.
"Me? What do you mean? Of course, I’m The Hero. Who else would I be?"
The Hero giggled with a twisted smile as he teased Ackster.
"Who are you?!"
Eris shouted while pointing at The Hero with her staff. As members of The Hero’s party, Eris and the others knew better than anyone what The Hero was like. He would never talk like that. If someone attacked him with the same ruthless intention to kill as Ackster, The Hero wouldn’t talk until they were dead.
Eris and the others pointed at The Hero with their weapons and magic. Regardless of anything else, it was clear the white-haired Hero was the enemy. They could deal with the blue-haired handsome devil later. Though, Dala looked at Ackster’s silhouette with a furrowed brow.
