Rogue Villain-Chapter 361: Manners Maketh The Man
Ackster’s grin widened as he felt the pressure from Shanshi rise and envelop his body, trying to suffocate him. It seemed like Ackster’s blow had knocked all the rust away and helped Shanshi settle back into his original strength.
*You impertinent fool, I will show you...—*
*Show me what? How to take a beating? No thanks.*
Ackster shrugged off the pressure and jumped to knee the hovering Shanshi in the face.
Surprisingly, Shanshi stopped Ackster by grabbing his knee with one hand. Shanshi maintained that grip and held Ackster up with ease. Ackster raised his eyebrows slightly. Shanshi was a little stronger than his first impression had made him seem.
Ackster lashed out with the other kick toward the side of Shanshi’s head. But Shanshi raised his arm and blocked before grabbing it. Ackster released a lightning-quick fist. But a splotch of blot the same size as Ackster’s fist blocked it perfectly. No point of Ackster’s fist wasn’t covered by blood. But no blood extended beyond Ackster’s fist.
It was a perfect use of resources that didn’t let a single drop go to waste. Something like that required incredible skill.
’Oh, damn.’
Before Ackster could punch again, Shanshi pulled Ackster’s leg in opposite directions. With Shanshi’s arm span, the only thing that stopped him from tearing Ackster in half was Ackster’s Limit Broken strength.
However, the first vampire, after eating his fill of some of the best blood he had ever seen, wasn’t a being where just trying would be enough. Before Ackster could react, Shanshi had already ripped his body in half from the groin.
*Fucking bastard. You go on about manners and then do this?*
Fortunately, Ackster reacted in time and lowered the defenses on one of his legs. So, rather than being truly split in half, it was more like Shanshi tore off a leg.
Unfortunately, Shanshi still held onto Ackster’s ankle and knee. But the knee didn’t go any further than the hip.
*A mutt such as you do not deserve polite treatment.*
Shanshi’s distaste and dislike of Ackster seeped into his voice like ink.
Ackster conjured his Demon Sword and cut off his foot, flipping back and regenerating it mid-air before landing while his other leg recovered.
’Shit.’
While looking at Ackster like he was a bug, Shanshi raised Ackster’s leg and drained it of blood before tossing it to the ground.
Ackster didn’t even need to try to know that he couldn’t compare to Shanshi when it came to controlling his blood. Trying something like he had against the clay golem would only backfire.
*Ahh~Unlike your disgusting behavior, your blood is truly exquisite.*
Shanshi let out a mocking sigh after swallowing Ackster’s blood.
’Is this how others feel?’
Ackster was finally on the other side of someone eating their opponent in the middle of a fight to regain or gain strength. This string of gatekeepers had really given Ackster an opportunity to reflect on how it was to fight someone like himself in various ways. He couldn’t say he liked it. But it had shown him how to improve in a few ways.
However, Ackster wasn’t sure how he would win against Shanshi. His usual method of just beating the shit out of it and relying on his recovery wouldn’t work against a vampire that had better regeneration and damage resistance, as well as Ackster’s blood to keep himself in his peak state.
While thinking about how to defeat Shanshi and show him who the boss was, Ackster engaged in a fierce brawl. He mixed attacks with his body and the Demon Sword while Shanshi used his blood gauntlets, spears of blood, or raw physical strength to hit and abuse Ackster.
Ackster hated to admit it, but Shanshi was better than him. The vampire landed more and more effective blows. His way of using blood was also pure art. His masterful control was something even Ackster couldn’t learn that quickly.
However, seeing the fluidity of Shanshi’s motions did inspire Ackster to improve. If he could control his sources as well as Shanshi controlled someone else’s blood, the power of his body reinforcement and martial arts would skyrocket. And if he was lucky, learning how to control his sources that well would also help him with his Ichor.
But Shanshi’s control over blood wasn’t the only thing Ackster admired.
Shanshi also moved his body with inhuman precision and control. There were no wasted movements, and it looked to Ackster like whenever Shanshi moved, he chose the most efficient and perfect way to move. Sometimes, it looked like it was a waste or like he made an unnecessary move.
But the next moment, he was ready to intercept or counterattack Ackster’s strikes.
Shanshi wasn’t just expressing a mastery of his own body. He was also reading and responding to Ackster’s movements like he was reading a book. Shanshi was an expert in combat.
In terms of pure skill, he surpassed anyone Ackster had ever fought or encountered, with one exception. He wasn’t as strong or skilled as the Sword God. But that wasn’t a comfort. After all, it was already bad enough that the only comparison that could hold up against Shanshi was the Sword God.
Ackster sighed.
He couldn’t even return the favor to Shanshi. Whenever he tried to bite or rip off a piece of Shanshi, it transformed into blood and returned to Shanshi’s body. If things continued like this, the first vampire would eventually outlast and win against Ackster.
Ackster glanced around the room. The only things that stood out were the body parts Shanshi had ripped off of Ackster before draining from blood, like juice packs, and Shanshi’s coffin.
’That’s it! The blood’s the problem!’
Shanshi wasn’t eating or making use of everything Ackster lost. He was just drinking Ackster’s blood to recover.
The problem was that Ackster couldn’t stop Shanshi from drinking his blood. He had tried to do something similar to what he did when he defeated the clay golem. But it didn’t work. Shanshi’s control over all blood dominated Ackster’s control over his own blood.
Ackster glared at Shanshi as he tried to figure out a way to stop the vampire from exhausting him.
