Rogue Villain-Chapter 285: Clash Of Behemoths
Mazar laid his entire weight on Ackster through the medium of his hand, pushing him flat against the mysterious bottom of Trana’s world. Trana tried to blast Mazar with her lightning and get him off. But the dark green dragon was larger than her, and she couldn’t injure him, much less force him to move. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Both Mazar’s physical body and the shields he put up were enough to block the brunt of the magic Trana poured down on him from herself and the air all around them.
"Fuck!"
Mazar didn’t even seem to care about her futile attempts and was fully intent on extinguishing the bright spark of life that was Ackster by using Trana’s space and its disintegrative powers in conjunction with his curses. If Ackster didn’t have SSS rank Pyro Resistance and a Storm Resistance skill not far behind, it would have worked.
But as it were, Ackster was just barely clinging to his life with Unstoppable and by feeding on the trickles of Mazar’s blood that made it to his mouth. The Demon Sword also shared the vitality it took from Mazar with him to keep him afloat.
However, Ackster’s body continued to melt, burn, liquify, and fade into dust under Mazar’s curses.
The Sun God Token helped control the heat from the borders of Trana’s space, but that wasn’t the problem.
Mazar’s body trembled as he shouldered a fully charged Breath from Trana. But he didn’t relinquish his grip over Ackster for even a second.
’This isn’t good.’
Ackster stayed calm as he thought about what to do. He had already pulled out all the stops and weapons and was just relying on his body’s natural recovery to delay his seemingly inevitable death. Even surviving this many moments under Mazar’s assault was incredible, considering how much stronger he was than Trana. But he was barely more than a conscious puddle of goop.
Something had to change that would let them flee or overturn the situation.
Mazar seemed to have realized or understood that Ackster was speaking the truth. But Ackster might have taken the insults too far, and Mazar decided it didn’t matter now. He was going to believe in his own strength and kill Ackster before dealing with the Seed of Calamity on his own.
Suddenly, the semi-stable ground of dark clouds and solid lightning under Ackster disappeared.
Trana dispelled her personal world. Neither Ackster nor Mazar were ready for it, but Mazar was the only one capable of reacting anyway. He didn’t. Mazar continued pushing downward until he slammed Ackster into the ground.
However, this time, Mazar couldn’t squash Ackster for long before Trana came down like a cannonball and slammed into Mazar’s neck with her claws and fangs, grabbing hold and tearing him off Ackster like a wrestler.
Taken by surprise, since he wasn’t as resistant to physical force as he was to magic, Mazar ended up following along as Trana slammed him into the ground.
Trana noticed the wound on Mazar’s palm, as well as the two weapons lodged in it. She pulled out the broken trident with a burst of mana. That same burst of mana sent the Demon Sword plunging deeper into the dragon.
Ackster caught the broken trident zipping through the air right in time for Mazar to flip Trana onto her back and bite into her neck, drawing a fountain of blood, scales, and flesh.
Ackster knew that he would lose all the slim chances he had of survival if Trana died. He couldn’t let that happen.
Ackster used the reserves of energy in his body that he had built up from the blood he got from Mazar and activated Limit Breaker beyond anything he had done in the past. His entire body rumbled with a strength that was enough to both injure himself and rupture his organs but keep them regenerating so quickly it was unnoticeable. All of Ackster’s skills were running on overdrive and overheating his body and brain.
But Ackster’s mind was clear as glass as he flew through the air like a bullet, straight toward Mazar’s head.
Ackster held the broken trident in his hand, but Mazar wasn’t worried. Even if the weapon was sharp enough to injure him, Ackster wasn’t strong enough to pierce it through more than the first few layers of skin and flesh.
Mazar was more than willing to let Ackster land a shallow blow in order to kill Trana. Besides, with the Seed of Calamity’s power, he could heal even from injuries inflicted by Heavenly Iron. And Ackster would soon follow in Trana’s footsteps. It was a logical chain of reasoning that Mazar wholeheartedly believed in.
Unlike his decadeslong scheme to fuck over the Land of Dragons that had gone awry a little bit just because he decided to sacrifice it to The Calamity, there was no possibility of this string of events unfolding in any way that wasn’t what Mazar expected.
No matter what Ackster did, it would just be the futile, last-ditch efforts of a lesser being struggling for its life in the face of inevitable death, despair, and doom. Even with a weapon of Heavenly Iron, Ackster couldn’t do anything against a superior dragon such as himself.
Mazar snorted through a bloody mouthful of dragon flesh. Dragons really were the ultimate species. Nothing else tasted like one.
Trana was still struggling. A gaping wound in her neck wasn’t enough to kill her that easily. She could recover after a while. But that was only under the assumption that Mazar didn’t inflict any more grievous wounds.
Trana and Mazar stiffened in shock and surprise.
Mazar had been expecting Ackster to fly into his neck or try to aim for his head. That didn’t happen.
Trana had been too preoccupied with trying to fight off Mazar to notice Ackster. She did, however, notice Ackster when his broken trident was lodged at the base of her skull.
Mazar paused as he looked with blank eyes at Ackster clinging to the broken trident among the two behemoths.
"Tell me!"
Ackster’s shout didn’t help clarify the situation.
