Chapter 273: What The Flipp?!

A sleek, blue dragon with a more aerodynamic body than Viztar spoke as it landed next to the burning green dragon with a thump. It hardened the ground below it with magic so it wouldn’t sink into the lava.

"You think I care about the Dragon Slayer?! I’ve got a fucking cockroach on me, Trana!"

While speaking, Viztar turned his head back to try and snap at Ackster, but he couldn’t reach. He also tried to whip around with his tail and smack Ackster, but Ackster’s presence was weak since the flames obscured him and almost killed him. So, Viztar couldn’t pinpoint it, and he was pretty sure Ackster was inside his wing by now.

Trana narrowed her eyes as she peered through the flames.

"Huh? Is Maxtras testing the waters again? Didn’t we tell him he can do what he wants as long as he doesn’t touch any of us just a couple of centuries ago?"

"This fucker apparently doesn’t belong to Maxtras."

Viztar continued increasing the might of his fire, hoping it would finally be too much for Ackster.

"How’d you figure?"

"He told me."

"And you believed him?"

"...Shouldn’t I have?"

Trana shrugged.

"Who knows? But I don’t think Maxtras would waste a minion this good on something this futile. He’s alone, right?"

"Yeah."

"Then, it’s probably not Maxtras. You just got unlucky."

"Fuck! Can you get rid of it?!"

Trana laughed.

"Ha, no way. Seeing you squirm like this is way too much fun!"

Trana turned around, unable to suppress her fits of laughter as Viztar even went so far as to roll around on the ground to try and flatten Ackster.

"Besides, I have something else to do. Didn’t you also come here to kill the Dragon Slayer? Since you’re preoccupied, I guess the honor’s mine."

Trana’s gaze found Kargas, and she started walking toward the Dragon Slayer with calm steps as she measured her target with her eyes. All the dragons could tell he was far from reaching maturity and a level of strength that could threaten them. But a Dragon Slayer was a Dragon Slayer. It was the one existence that was born and lived to hunt dragons. Not being cautious was like not fearing the end of the world.

However, Trana quickly confirmed that the Dragon Slayer wasn’t much of a threat despite his innate abilities and skills. He had a broken arm and was pretty banged up. He also seemed to have lost most of his fighting will. He seemed to be angry, but it didn’t look like he was itching to fight either of them.

Trana chuckled slightly, but her chuckle froze in her throat as she caught sight of the broken handle in Kargas’ hand. At first glance, she had simply thought he had broken his weapon and refused to give up on it.

But, upon taking a closer look, she noticed its peculiarity.

"Heavenly Iron?"

Trana had a hard time believing it. Heavenly Iron was a material that the gods of the Celestial Realm tried to monopolize. She knew there were a few nuggets in the mortal world as well, but she hadn’t expected a hatchling Dragon Slayer to have a piece.

"Hey, Dragon Slayer, kiddo."

Trana polymorphed into a beautiful woman in a silky blue dress as she walked closer to Kargas, stopping a safe distance away—safe for Kargas.

"If you hand over that thing," Trana pointed at the broken handle. "And if you promise not to hunt dragons in the future, I can let you go right now. I will even stop Viztar if he tries to attack you."

Kargas looked at the broken handle. He hadn’t had time to use it yet since he wasn’t strong enough to tackle Viztar’s fire. But he could instinctively tell that it was an extraordinary weapon, even if broken.

"I can’t do that."

"Fine. If the dragons go wild and hunt humans and stuff first, they’re free game."

"That’s not what I meant. This broken handle doesn’t belong to me, so I can’t give it to you."

Kargas was more than a little worried that Trana would use force. But since she had asked for it and even offered a fair exchange, he was also hopeful that she would drop the matter if he said he couldn’t give it away.

"...Hmm. Who does it belong to, then?"

Trana already had her suspicions, and she looked toward the submerged Viztar, who was trying to drown Ackster in molten rock.

"That’s right. It belongs to my savior, the guy trying to—I’m pretty sure he’s trying to eat Viztar."

Trana looked at the broken handle with a greedy gaze as she licked her lips. But she sighed.

"Fine."

Trana transformed back into a dragon and glided right above the ground over to Viztar.

"Hey, stop moving for a bit. I need to talk to the cockroach."

Trana clamped down on Viztar’s back with a paw and extinguished the flames around the base of his wings by blowing on them. She furrowed her scaly brow as she saw the skeleton pieces of which barely more than the skull was intact. Still, she scooped him up.

"What the fuck?"

However, she could sense a strong life force pouring out of the skeleton, and the skeleton’s jaws were moving quickly to chew on and extract the energy and vitality of Viztar’s flesh and skin.

"Viztar, what kind of fucking monster did you pick up?"

"Do you think I know?!"

"Stop shouting. You’re scaring the lost children."

"Does it look like I—!"

Trana pushed down on Viztar’s back with an audible crack to get him to stop yelling like a little kid. She got down from Viztar’s back with Ackster in her paw. She was about to throw some healing magic on him to see if he could be saved when she saw his skeleton already started to regrow. Soft tissue also started covering the pieces of the regenerated skeleton.

"Seriously, what the fuck? Is this really a human?"
