Rogue Villain-Chapter 266: Shaky
Ackster could also feel it. He looked in the same direction as Kargas as another dragon approached. This one didn’t even try to hide its intentions as its bloodlust surged and scared every living being in the area stiff.
The Dragon Slayer was the natural enemy of dragons. But like any other being, he needed to grow strong before he could threaten anyone, even if they were a dragon—especially if they were a dragon. Dragons didn’t need a natural enemy like a Dragon Slayer for no reason.
Moreover, just because the Dragon Slayer was the natural enemy of dragons, it didn’t mean he couldn’t be killed by dragons. And now that an immature Dragon Slayer had delivered himself to the Land of Dragons, the dragons would be foolish if they didn’t even try to get rid of him before he grew up.
"Viztar."
The green dragon finally came within view. Kargas’ father identified it before turning to Kargas.
"My child...I have things I wish to tell you, so please survive. I must take my leave now. I fear I will only cause you more trouble if you stay."
"I guess that’s your specialty. I won’t see you off."
Kargas was dismissive toward his father since he was focused on Viztar. But he felt relieved since he didn’t have to fight two dragons.
"Haha! Killgara, you’re here already? How fun! But the Dragon Slayer is mine!"
Viztar shouted when he was still far away, but as he spoke, he was already about to arrive. His booming voice echoed over the land, and it was impossible not to hear him.
"I’m leaving."
Killgara, Kargas’ father, shot Viztar a glance before transforming back into his humongous red dragon form after jumping into the air.
"So you’re just going to leave your child for death? Ha! I know he’s a Dragon Slayer, but you sure are one heartless bastard!"
Viztar laughed as he touched down outside the village. He looked in the direction Killgara took off, only to suddenly bob to the side with his head to avoid a laser beam that pierced through the ground behind him, creating a crater and a mushroom cloud a moment later. The shockwave blew away the village buildings. But the Council Hall remained mostly intact.
"Haha! If you don’t want me to kill him, come here and stop me!"
Killgara shook his head and snorted before vanishing into the horizon. He was only holding on through sheer willpower since Kargas was his son. If he let himself go and begin fighting with Viztar, there was no telling who he would end up attacking.
"Ptui. Coward."
Viztar spat to the side, but inwardly, he felt a sense of relief. Killgara and the Dragon Slayer, at the same time, would be suicidal, even for him.
Viztar’s figure shrank and transformed as he polymorphed into a human while walking toward Kargas. He had wild and thick green hair down below his ears and bulging muscles. He looked exactly as he had sounded, with a ruffian-like laugh and a booming voice. He also had the same vertical pupils as Killgara, just with green irises instead of red.
Viztar looked at Ackster, who was already clenching his fists and looking at Viztar with burning excitement. Although Viztar looked like someone who relied on brute force and laughed his way through a fight, Ackster could tell that every single one of his movements was refined and without waste.
He walked with the grace of a lion with sharp eyes that didn’t miss a single detail. He was an apex predator who had no intentions of letting anyone think anything else. But he was also more than that. Viztar didn’t just rely on his innate talent or abilities as a dragon. Ackster could tell that he walked, looked, and acted in a way that detailed his experience. He was a veteran fighter.
"So, you’re the Dragon Slayer, huh? You certainly look as crazy as I’ve heard you were."
Ackster and Kargas almost fell over.
’He might just be a musclehead.’
"Huh?"
Ackster, Kargas, and the others couldn’t help but be stunned into silence at the dragon’s wrongful assumption.
Ackster cleared his throat.
"Ahem. I’m honored, but I’m not the Dragon Slayer—"
"Are you saying I’m wrong?"
Viztar glared at Ackster.
Ackster glared back. By now, he had too much experience dealing with powerful and crazy people.
"Shut the fuck up and let me finish, iguana."
"Huh?"
Viztar looked at Ackster with shock. That was not within his expectations.
"This guy is the Dragon Slayer, you blind fuck."
Ackster pointed at Kargas next to him.
"Him?"
Viztar followed Ackster’s gesture with his eyes.
"But then, why do you look more eager to fight me than he does?"
Ackster shrugged. He might have let his desires show on his face a little too clearly.
"I guess it’s because I am more eager than him. He’s just here because I brought him along, after all."
Viztar held up a hand to stop Ackster from talking. He wasn’t rude, so Ackster kept quiet while he continued sizing up the polymorphed dragon while the latter tried to wrap his head around the situation.
It took a little while, but Viztar eventually seemed to reach a conclusion.
"I don’t get it. Do I just need to kill you both?"
Ackster felt a chill run down his spine at Viztar’s innocent-sounding question. It was a mix of fear and excitement.
Viztar’s casual question was proof of his strength and the confidence it gave him.
Ackster glanced at Kargas, who returned the look with a slight nod. He then faced Viztar again.
"You can try."
"...ha—Haha! Yes! Are you sure you’re not the Dragon Slayer? You’re so much fun!"
"I guess I can start calling myself one after this fight."
Ackster grinned. Although Viztar made it seem like he and Ackster were just joking around, Ackster could tell that his life was already in the danger zone. Viztar, despite his jovial attitude, had no intention of letting either of them go. If they didn’t win against Viztar, they would die.
Ackster looked at his shaking hands.
’Are these shakes good or bad, I wonder?’
