Rogue Villain-Chapter 247: Futuristic Goat
Ackster stopped trying to stand up after the Sword God’s declaration. Since the powerful maniac had said so—so it would be. Ackster wasn’t leaving. But as things were looking, Ackster had a feeling the Sword God was leaning toward killing Ackster and securing the sword or securing the sword and leaving Ackster for dead.
For some reason, the Sword God hadn’t done so at once, which Ackster was grateful for. But he had to find a way out that didn’t involve him turning into a corpse or a resident of the Sword God’s scabbard.
"Can I ask what you are—were going to do with his sword, or why you wanted it?"
"It’s dangerous. I wanted to secure it."
Ackster hadn’t expected the Sword God to have such altruistic purposes.
"Really?"
"Yes. It is powerful. I want it for my collection."
’Ah, that’s more like it.’
"Wouldn’t it have ended up in your collection if you grabbed it instead of forcing me to do so?"
The Sword God shrugged.
"What if it decided to control me?"
’But it’s fine if it controls me?’
"Is it that powerful? Is this sword so good that it could possibly control the Sword God?"
"Hand it over, and let me try."
The Sword God gestured for Ackster to hand over the sword.
"Didn’t we just conclude that I didn’t know how to do that? And if I could, I would have already done so."
"Is that so? Now that you mention it, it sounds familiar. Who are you, again?"
"That’s not important. What is important is that we need to do something about this sword inside me, right?"
"Yes. Stop keeping it for yourself. That’s selfish."
"I would love to share it, but I don’t know how."
"That’s a problem."
’No shit.’
"Do you have any ideas of how I can get this out of me? Or at least prevent it from going berserk or something?"
"Yeah. Just get rid of it, and you won’t need to fear anything. It would be even better if you gave it to me."
Ackster felt like he was about to crack his teeth and pull his hair out. He thought he had made progress in conversing with the Sword God, but it was temporary and dead hope.
"Sword God, you want this sword that’s inside me, right?"
"Didn’t I just say that? When are you going to give it to me?"
"Wouldn’t it be unfair if I just gave you this sword that I earned for myself? Wouldn’t that be selfish?"
"Not at all. I’m the Sword God. All swords belong to me."
’I see...’
"Then take this out of me. Since you’re the Sword God, you can do it without killing me, right?"
"..."
"..."
Ackster felt something breeze past his neck. No, to say he felt it when it happened would be an overstatement. His Overhuman Senses and Iron Body barely picked up on a minute difference in the overall existence of his neck and the air immediately around it.
A couple of moments later, when Ackster tried to look down to see if he could feel anything, at the same time, he reached up with his hand to touch his neck. However, his view suddenly changed. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Ackster’s head slid forward before falling into his hand, which reacted on instinct and grabbed his head. Through his fingers, Ackster saw his body upside down. No, it was his head that was upside down while his body—his headless body—remained upright.
Ackster’s thoughts ground to an almost complete halt at the sight and the fact that he had been decapitated. However, he wasn’t dead.
Whether it was his skills or his body’s own instincts, Ackster’s hand put his head back in place and held it there while Stubborn Well-Being and Iron Body regrew the tissue. Thanks to the impeccable cut that passed right between his vertebrae and severed all the tissue and nerve endings without damaging them, Ackster recovered in moments.
’Freaky.’
Due to the shock, Ackster didn’t know how to process what had just happened.
’That didn’t work.’
"You, who are you?"
The Sword God looked at Ackster with eyes slightly wider than before. It was too faint of a change in expression to call the Sword God surprised, but he clearly hadn’t expected Ackster to put his head back on like it was a loose shoe.
’Okay, so that didn’t work.’
Ackster decided to take another gamble. He had already lost his head once. What more did he have to lose?
"Your goat’s caretaker from the future. But that doesn’t matter. I have an idea."
"Let’s hear it then, Charles."
’Who the fuck is Charles?’
"I think our best bet is me learning to control the sword, either so I can get rid of it or control it and prevent it from spreading chaos in the world."
"If that’s our best bet, I don’t want to hear our worst."
"Let me finish."
"..."
Ackster touched his neck again when the Sword God stayed silent, but he didn’t get decapitated this time.
"But since you wanted to add the sword to your collection, that won’t be enough, right? Just me learning how to control it, especially if I still can’t get it out, won’t add it to your collection."
"..."
"So, my suggestion is to add the sword to your collection by extending your collection to me."
Ackster felt a sharp pressure point at the center of his forehead.
"Let me finish first."
The pressure didn’t disappear, but it didn’t advance either.
"There are two ways to do that. The most obvious way, which you won’t like, is giving me access to your collection. I don’t want that either, don’t worry."
The pressure lessened slightly as if the Sword God was asking what the other method was.
But Ackster still felt as if he was standing in front of a mountain of nukes, ready to explode in his face. Even if they were one step further away, he wasn’t any safer.
"The other method is to teach me and make me your disciple. Everything that your disciple owns, you own, right?"
