Road to be the Best Chess Player in the World!-Chapter 545: The Girls’ Current Stats
"Good evening, Aunty!"
As the sound of the girls rang outside of the door, Sheva's mother rushed immediately, still having a big ladle in her hand. Her eyes shone brightly when she saw the three, still in their school uniform, popping in front of the door.
"Oh! You girls are here! Come in, come in!" She greeted them enthusiastically. "That brat is waiting for you on the back. Wait for a moment, okay? Aunty is currently frying the curry puff and the chocolate banana in the kitchen. It will be ready soon!"
Laysa and Claudia just grinned widely, no embarrassment could be seen on their eyes. Meanwhile, Anna groaned, covering her face to hide away her shame here. Honestly, if she could, she would want to act like she didn't know those two, what with how shameless they were as guests.
"Anyway, let's go." She said quickly, too embarrassed to control those two here. "Aunty, we are going to the backyard. Excuse us…" She nodded politely.
As they walked to the backyard, they could see Sheva was there already, trying to set things up first so that they didn't have to do that later. Anna's gaze softened immediately when she saw that.
In the last two months they were training together, the girl could see the amount of effort that Sheva poured here for them, and this touched a soft spot in her heart.
'He didn't have to do everything, yet still going all out to support us all.' She thought with her heart warmed. 'What should we do to repay this favor?'
Of course, Sheva himself couldn't hear that question. He just turned slightly at his house, finding the girls were there and waving at them immediately. "Hey, girls! How are you doing?" He smiled, asking politely.
"Terrible." Claudia sighed, throwing her bag on the sofa like a little brat she was. "I don't understand why we have to study math! I mean, who the hell has so much free time that he throws a dice a thousand times?! What is he, an unemployed friend at a Tuesday midnight?"
Sheva couldn't help but snort when he heard that. IT was the classic case of the probability class, but the premise indeed was ridiculous. Oh, well… Math class always produced some of the most ridiculous cases, so who was he to say something about that?
"Anyway, what about your preparation for the day after tomorrow? Would it affect your study?" Sheva asked, tone full of concern.
Even though they registered the tournament by themselves, Sheva still felt responsible, since he was the one who pushed them from the back. If somehow, this affected their study in a bad way, he would have to explain things to their parents, which was definitely the worst scenario here.
"Oh, it will definitely affect our study, but don't worry about that." Laysa shrugged it off nonchalantly. "We have already prepared for our exam for a long time; one week of chess will not remove that from our brains."
"Yeah, and we have waited for this tournament for a long time." Anna nodded softly. "This is a chance to get the ticket to participate in the World Cup with you, and I will regret it if I don't try just because of my studies." Her face flushed when she said it.
She herself had the absolute confidence that in the men's section, Sheva would snatch that ticket for himself. There was no way in hell the boy in front of her would fail, especially since the opponents themselves weren't that strong at the first place.
Sheva nodded gently, pondering something for a moment. Then, he couldn't help but want to check their stats right now.
'System, please, do the work here.' He muttered.

Sheva smirked a little as he read the stats, finding himself satisfied with their improvement. Even though none of them three were IM, two of them had crossed the line already. Hell, Anna and Laysa should be borderline GM, with them only needed a slight push to leap further.
Unfortunately, that type of leap was not something that could be achieved in training session. No, they both had to accumulate more experience playing in higher-level chess. That was the only way they could touch the GM realm.
As for Claudia, well, her level was close to IM already. However, her problem was the same as Duta. She wasn't the type of player who was willing to take initiative, and her risk management was poor, in a sense that she would never take one even if the return worth the whole game.
'For that, she would need to be in a desperate situation where a win would bring glory for her.' Sheva couldn't help but think. 'Only in this way would she be stimulated to get that further leap.'
Well, that was a problem for the future.
Still, even with all the improvement they achieved, Sheva still couldn't help but feel worry. After all, the competition in the women's section was way more difficult than in the men's section.
There, the best-rated player was Batkhuyag Munguntuul, a veteran Mongolian IM who had vast experience in high-level chess in the world. She came from the same generation as Irene, who was the second-best player here. Then, there was Medina, a mature player who was eyeing the ticket to get out of Irene's shadow.
Those three were definitely the favorites in the women's section, and there were also the Vietnamese WGMs who could create an upset if the top-players were careless. Then, coupled with Anna, Laysa, and Claudia mingling into the crowd, the competition was stacked, and could probably be considered as an almost-elite tournament in the world for the women's section.
'Now, how should they try to establish an advantage against their formidable opponents in that tournament?'
