Rising up from a Nobleman to Intergalactic Warlord!!-Chapter 197
Chapter 197 - 197
---3rd Person POV, Solemnace, Lower Levels---
Overloading the Doomsday Ark's power system to humiliate Trazyn, the vessel erupted into a fireball and plummeted toward the ground. Jumping off the wreckage before impact, Trazyn crashed through several unfinished displays, sending people and relics everywhere. Dragging his damaged body behind cover so it could repair itself, he shouted at his men to kill the invaders immediately. Doing as their master commanded, the small horde of Necrons began opening fire upon my people.
Engaging their Holtzman shields, Victor's men defiantly began marching forward while returning fire. Easily shrugging off the Necron's attacks, their firepower tore right through robots, leaving only globs of molten slag behind. Clearing a path forward for Ahsoka, the Helldivers shouted at her to take the bastard's head. Accepting the task, she rushed out from behind them and began sprinting toward the Necron Overlord. Watching the Padawan make short work of his men, Trazyn accepted that he had only one option left now.
"I did not want to use this, Victor, but you have forced my hand. If I cannot have my museum, no one can!", Trazyn shouted, pulling a Tesseract Prison out from under his cloak.
Pressing a recessed button on the cube, he tossed it over his shoulder and accepted his fate. Hitting the floor with a loud bang, a blinding red light filled the space, followed by maniacal laughter. As the prisoner burst out of its prison, everyone was sent flying away from the epicenter. Rapidly reforming its ghostly form for the first time in countless millennia, the scythe-wielding C'tan reveled in his restored freedom.
(Aza'gorod)
Whipping his scythe around at blistering speeds, the remaining Necrons were obliterated in seconds. Feeling the hair on the back of her neck stand on end, Ahsoka staggered to her feet and began rallying the defenders. Refusing to back down in the face of almost certain death, she told them to throw everything they had at the reaper.
---Victor POV---
Hearing Aza'gorod's voice in the adjacent space, both the Aeldari gods and C'tan became visibly shaken. Recalling the many atrocities he committed during the War in Heaven, they were eager to get as far away from him as possible. Recommending that we evacuate immediately and give up on Solemnace, I vehemently rejected their suggestions, saying I would deal with him.
"We have come too far to give up now; our objective is nearly within our grasp. Come hell or high water, this planet is falling under my control.", I said, grabbing ahold of Stormbreaker. "Mag'ladroth, please continue working on taking this place offline. Everyone else, stay here and do not leave until I give the all-clear."
Blocking my path with outstretched arms, Isha and Lileath pleaded with me to reconsider my decision. Fearing that I would become corrupted like Khaine or die by Aza'gorod's hands, I simply chuckled and told them to have a bit more faith in me. Kissing them on the forehead to soothe their worries, I gingerly pushed past them and strode out of the room.
"Everyone, fall back to the server room immediately. This C'tan is mine.", I commanded, walking out into a bloodbath. 'Damn it! He has only been freed a few minutes, and half of my men are already dead. Aza'gorod is going to regret making an enemy out of me.'
Complying with my orders, the troops began falling back as the Nightbringer turned his icy gaze toward me. Not seeing Ahsoka among those retreating, I scanned the space for her and found the Padawan lying in a pool of blood next to a group of dead Helldivers. Giving me a weak smile, she mouthed something before passing out. Teleporting her aboard my flagship for emergency medical treatment, the prideful fool began taunting me.
(Aza'gorod)
Teleporting out of his field of view, I reappeared above him and brought Stormbreaker down in a fit of vengeful rage. Slamming the hammer side down on his head, the C'tan crashed into the floor, causing the entire planet to shake violently. Spinning rapidly as I descended upon him, this time I hit him like a golf ball and sent him screaming through thousands of exhibits. Teleporting to where he finally came to rest, I placed my boot on his chest and prepared to cut his head off.
"I was willing to let you walk away with your life, but now you have pissed me off. For harming my lover and slaughtering my men, your life is now forfeit!", I growled. "OBLAAN!"
(AN: Oblaan means death in the dragon tongue.)
Snapped out of his daze by the searing pain of my Thu'um, Aza'gorod released a powerful blast of energy that knocked me off balance. Rolling out from underneath me, he proceeded to hit me with a burst of gravity that sent me flying across the room. Engaging my thrusters to stop myself, the C'tan staggered to his feet while clutching his chest. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
(Aza'gorod)
"Ah, so it would appear your kind are just as vulnerable to magic as you are to warp energy. Quite interesting.", I stated, making a mental note of that. "KRII LUN AUS!!"
Hitting him with Marked for Death, Aza'gorod fell to his knees as his strength began to wane. Refusing to give up that easily, his eyes began to glow a familiar orange hue before releasing a blast of energy at me. Narrowly avoiding the sudden attack, the beam struck a nearby Tyranid exhibit and began siphoning their life force. Watching the bugs shrivel up into dried husks, Aza'gorod's strength marginally recovered, allowing him to rise again.
(Aza'gorod)
"You must truly be in a bind if you are sucking the life force out of bugs. Oh, how the mighty have fallen!", I mocked him.
Gritting his teeth, Aza'gorod began searching for a way out of this. Assuming I had yet to get genuinely serious with him, he knew escape was the only viable option now. Raising his hand toward me, the C'tan called down a pillar of blackened fire from the heavens before making a mad dash for outer orbit. Resisting his attack with the icy gale of a Niflheim storm, I gave chase, refusing to let him get away.
(Aza'gorod)
Spawning hundreds of miniature stars, he began raining them down on me like hailstones. Bobbing and weaving around his assault, Aza'gorod increased his output as our fleet came into view. Knowing he would vanish the moment he got clear, I ordered Horizon to blast the bastard with the BFG. Complying with my order, the Machine Spirit willed the ship to turn round and begin the charging sequence. Noticing what the Endless Horizons was doing, he abandoned his assault and focused all his energy on fleeing.
"You are not getting away from me!", I shouted, grabbing hold of him with Force.
Violently thrashing around within my grasp, he began to desperately beg for his life as the weapon finished charging. Firing the weapon immediately, the vivid green beam of energy swallowed him whole in an instant. Releasing a head-splitting death throe as his form was obliterated in seconds, I nearly blacked out from the intense pain. Powering down the weapon once his screams faded away, all that remained was a small glimmering dust cloud where he had once been.
"Phew... The fragment of Aza'gorod has been vanquished; it is no longer a threat.", I reported to my team on the ground.
"That was quick. Was the fragment that weak?", Isha questioned.
"No, evidently the C'tan are very vulnerable to magic. Just a few simple spells nearly killed him.", I answered with a sigh. "Alright, I am heading back down to you guys. Be there in just a- "
Before I could finish speaking, I got an emergency call from Guilliman. Accepting it right away, all I could hear for the first few minutes was gunfire, lots of shouting, and revving chainswords.
"Victor, we need immediate assistance over here. Unknown objects crashed into the museum from orbit and caused some serious damage. Several of the Tyranid exhibits have been taken offline, and we are being overrun.", Guilliman stated, firing his wrist-mounted pistols into their ranks.
Looking down at Solemnace, small craters from Aza'gorod's miniature stars dotted the planet's surface. Cursing Aza'gorod under my breath, I told Guilliman that I was on my way with reinforcements. Ordering the deployment of several Automaton contingents to our allies' location, Stormbreaker began to crackle with lightning.
"I get it; you are upset that you only got to smack the C'tan around a bit.", I apologized, hoisting it into the air. "Hopefully you can make do with hordes of space bugs."
Calling upon the Odin-Force and power of Thor, Stormbreaker imbued their power into me with a burst of enthusiasm. Sensing a stronger connection to the powers this time around, I could vaguely sense the presence of Asgard and the other pantheons. Detecting my presence as well, the people on the other side immediately attempted to contact me.
"Balder, Fandral, and Loki, I think the time barrier has begun to weaken. Try contacting your people and let them know what is going on.", I replied, blocking out all their voices. "I have to help take care of a Tyranid swarm."
"Yeah... We know...", Loki whimpered. "Damn those fools! They are all probably in the mead hall; why couldn't they just designate one of them to speak?!"
"We will explain things to them... Just worry about the bugs!", Balder groaned, gritting his teeth in pain.
Apologizing to the three of them, I rapidly descended upon the planet to aid my allies.
