Rise Of The Villain : In a World Ruled By Anomalies-Chapter 45 : The imperius family lineage
Inside the massive Imperius family estate, silence ruled the long stone corridors.
A single figure walked down a dimly lit hallway.
His footsteps echoed softly against the marble floor as he moved forward with steady purpose. The faint light from the wall lamps cast long shadows behind him, stretching across the polished stone like silent witnesses to his passage.
Adrian Evan Imperius.
His expression was calm, but his eyes carried a sharp focus as he walked toward a destination he knew well.
The deeper he went into the estate, the quieter everything became. Even the distant sounds of the outside world seemed to vanish behind the thick stone walls of the ancient mansion.
Servants were not allowed here.
Guards did not patrol this wing.
Only one person possessed authority over this part of the estate.
Even Adrian Evan Imperius, head of the family, could not deny that authority.
After several minutes of walking, Adrian finally reached a massive set of reinforced doors. The metal surface of the gates reflected the dim light of the corridor, giving them an almost ominous appearance.
This was the Imperius private training hall.
Reserved for only one person.
Adrian raised his hand and placed his palm against the cold metal surface.
The doors reacted immediately.
A faint humming sound echoed through the hallway.
The gates slowly opened on their own, as if recognizing his presence.
Adrian stepped inside without hesitation.
The enormous chamber stretched out before him.
The training hall was vast, large enough to house battle drills between dozens of elite hunters. Tall pillars supported the ceiling high above, and the stone floor bore faint marks from countless past battles.
Yet at this moment, the room was completely silent.
Adrian’s eyes immediately settled on a single figure sitting at the center of the hall.
The man sat cross-legged in meditation.
Even without moving, his presence dominated the entire chamber.
It felt as if the air itself vibrated around him.
An invisible aura pulsed outward from his body, carrying a pressure that could suffocate ordinary people. The atmosphere in the room felt heavier with every passing second.
It was a presence that transcended the mundane.
Absolute power.
The man’s broad shoulders and muscular frame radiated raw strength, commanding both attention and respect.
His posture was perfectly relaxed, yet it carried the confidence of someone who had crushed countless opponents beneath his feet.
A chiseled jawline gave him a rugged appearance, and piercing steel-grey eyes remained closed as he meditated.
A long scar crossed his left eye.
A mark from a battle long ago.
A badge of honor earned through blood.
This man was Agnus Evan Imperius.
One of the ten SSS-rank powerhouses in the entire world.
With quiet determination, Adrian walked forward.
His steps echoed across the massive chamber.
When he finally stood before the meditating figure, he bowed respectfully.
"Father."
Agnus did not open his eyes.
But his voice responded immediately.
Cold.
Calm.
And heavy with warning.
"I hope you have a good reason for disturbing my training, Adrian."
Adrian straightened his posture.
"Father, I have exiled Arthur from the family."
He paused briefly before continuing.
"And I ensured that he left without any external support... just as you instructed."
For a moment, silence filled the hall.
Then—
Agnus slowly opened his eyes.
The intensity in his gaze alone could freeze the blood of most people.
He looked directly at Adrian.
"Is that the reason you disturbed my training?"
His voice turned colder.
"For some puny failure who only brought disgrace to this family?"
His gaze sharpened.
"Don’t tell me you feel bad for him."
Adrian’s eyes hardened instantly.
"Feeling bad for him?"
He let out a short scoff.
"The thought never even crossed my mind."
His voice carried absolute conviction.
"There is no place for failures in this family."
A faint smile appeared on Agnus’s face.
"Good."
Then his expression shifted slightly.
"But?"
Adrian nodded.
"What concerns me is something else."
He took a step forward.
"Even if he is a failure... he still carries Imperius blood in his veins."
Agnus listened silently.
Adrian continued.
"What if he manages to survive as a commoner?"
"What if he passes down that bloodline to his children?"
His voice lowered slightly.
"As you know, the Imperius Starblood lineage is one of the most powerful bloodlines in existence."
"Our bloodline grows stronger with every generation."
Agnus’s eyes narrowed.
"What is your point?"
His voice carried quiet authority.
"Come to it quickly."
Adrian’s gaze remained steady as he looked at his father.
"I’m saying that even if he is a failure... his children might not be."
He spoke calmly, choosing his words carefully.
"What if they inherit powerful abilities through our bloodline?"
He paused for a moment before continuing.
"The Imperius bloodline is not ordinary. Our Starblood lineage grows stronger with every generation."
His voice grew colder.
"We cannot allow that kind of power to be used by someone outside our control."
Agnus listened quietly.
After a moment, he nodded slightly.
"You do have a point."
His tone remained calm, but firm.
"But because of that alone, we cannot allow him back into the family."
His steel-grey eyes narrowed slightly.
"If we did, the world would laugh at us."
"They would see it as weakness."
Adrian nodded slowly.
"That is why I placed him under surveillance."
Agnus’s gaze sharpened slightly.
"Our servants have been keeping track of everything he does."
Adrian continued.
"And you wouldn’t believe what has recently come to light."
Agnus leaned slightly forward.
Curiosity flickered in his eyes.
"What is he doing?"
Then he chuckled faintly.
"Are you sure he didn’t simply die inside some dungeon somewhere?"
He laughed at his own joke.
But Adrian’s expression did not change.
"Our sources confirmed that he knocked out an E-ranker with a single punch."
"He rendered the man unconscious."
Agnus’s laughter stopped instantly.
His eyes sharpened.
"Are you certain?"
Adrian nodded.
"I confirmed it personally."
"There’s more."
Agnus remained silent, waiting.
"He was invited to become the disciple of Yuna Akatsuki."
This time Agnus’s expression changed completely.
"The martial arts girl?"
His eyes narrowed thoughtfully.
"I’ve heard she has built quite a reputation for herself."
He leaned back slightly.
"The last time I saw her, she was extremely talented."
A faint smile crossed his lips.
"So... what did Arthur do?"
Adrian answered plainly.
"He declined."
Agnus exhaled deeply.
"Is he a fool?"
"Declining such an opportunity..."
He shook his head slightly.
"But what intrigues me more..."
"What exactly did she see in him?"
His voice lowered slightly.
"We tested that boy thoroughly."
"He showed no capability in anything."
He paused.
"Except for his sharp mind."
Adrian nodded.
"There is more."
Agnus’s gaze turned colder.
"More?"
"Yes."
Adrian continued.
"He recently saved the daughter of the Crown family in the Republic of Arcania."
"And during that incident..."
"He defeated a D-ranker who was at the peak of his rank."
For the first time—
Agnus looked genuinely surprised.
"Are you sure it was Arthur?"
Adrian replied immediately.
"Yes."
"I personally reviewed the video feed."
His eyes sharpened.
"I watched the fight."
"It was sloppy."
"Immature."
"But it was also growth."
He paused.
"Growth unlike anything we have ever seen from him."
Agnus fell silent.
His mind raced through possibilities.
Then he spoke quietly.
"Did he awaken his bloodline?"
Adrian frowned slightly.
Agnus shook his head before Adrian could respond. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"No."
"I’m certain that isn’t the case."
"He did not display any of the traits associated with the Imperius Starblood lineage."
A long silence filled the hall.
Finally, Agnus spoke again.
"Keep him under observation."
His voice carried quiet authority.
"After what happened, he must hate us."
His eyes darkened.
"If he becomes an asset..."
"And makes a name for himself..."
"Invite him back."
Adrian nodded slowly.
"And if he does not?"
For a moment—
A faint killing intent leaked from Agnus.
The pressure in the room dropped instantly.
The very air in the chamber seemed to tremble under the weight of his presence.
"Then you already know the answer."
His voice turned colder.
"Make sure he disappears."
"Painlessly."
"We cannot risk the possibility of him returning for revenge."
Agnus’s gaze hardened.
"After all..."
"Even if he is a lesser one..."
"He is still an Imperius."
Adrian bowed deeply.
"As you command, Father."
Agnus closed his eyes again.
"Now leave."
"Do not disturb my training again for a while."
Adrian nodded.
Without another word, he turned and walked toward the exit.
His footsteps echoed softly across the massive chamber.
The enormous doors opened automatically as he approached.
Then—
They slammed shut behind him.
Adrian stopped walking.
The hallway was empty.
Or so it seemed.
The silence in the corridor returned, thick and watchful.
He spoke calmly.
"You can come out now, Sylvy."
His eyes shifted slightly.
"Father and I sensed your presence a long time ago."
The air shimmered.
A figure slowly materialized from the shadows.
A beautiful woman appeared before him.
Golden hair flowed down her shoulders like liquid sunlight.
Her crimson eyes gleamed faintly.
Her figure was captivating and elegant.
She smiled softly as she looked at Adrian.
Then her expression changed into something completely different.
