Rise of the Primordial Dragon beast tamer-Chapter 53: The Trial of Will and Dominion.
Chapter 53 - The Trial of Will and Dominion.
Azvoid's blood thundered in his veins, the oppressive weight of the Sentinel's presence pressing down on him like an iron vice. The barren wasteland around him pulsed with a living darkness, twisted spires stretching endlessly toward the fractured sky.
The Sentinel of Wyrmblood's voice rolled like a storm, filling the world with its ominous resonance.
"The Trial of Will and Dominion is not for the weak. You must overcome the shadows of your own imperfections and seize control over the power you seek to refine."
Azvoid gritted his teeth, his defiant gaze never wavering from the towering figure. "You really know how to overhype things, huh? Fine. Throw whatever challenge you've got at me. I'm not backing down."
The Sentinel regarded him with an unreadable expression, the flickering silver and black flames wreathing its body intensifying.
"Arrogance without foundation is folly. Prove your conviction."
The world trembled. The ground split open, and from the chasms crawled grotesque creatures sculpted from shadows and agony. They resembled writhing beasts with spiked tendrils and twisted, jagged maws, their hunger evident in the way they lunged at him.
"Imperfections again?" Azvoid scoffed, already weaving his power. His eyes glowed with sharp focus, the influence of Phantom Reflex making their frenzied attacks appear sluggish.
He flicked his hand, the air itself distorting as blades of ice and space vectors tore through the horde. The creatures shattered like fragile glass, but more crawled from the fissures, their numbers endless.
"Just another swarm. What's so special about—"
Suddenly, one of the creatures swerved, avoiding his strike with unnatural precision before latching onto his arm with a bone-crushing grip. Pain flared as it attempted to drain something from him—not blood, but essence. His strength faltered, the icy chill of weakness spreading through his veins.
Azvoid snarled, crushing the creature with a blast of pure force. But more lunged, their movements adapting, growing more agile, more precise. His attacks were no longer enough to drive them back.
"They're learning..." Azvoid's eyes narrowed. "Alright. You want to make this interesting? Fine by me."
He focused, his senses sharpening beyond their limits. Phantom Reflex allowed him to weave through the incoming strikes, each motion flowing like water. But the true key was his Space Vector Master talent.
The space around him folded and twisted under his command. Creatures lunged at him only to find themselves torn apart by the distorted reality he controlled.
Yet despite his onslaught, they kept coming. Adapting. Evolving.

"Enough playing around." Azvoid's eyes gleamed with ruthless determination. He raised his hands, warping the air itself into a spinning torrent of annihilation. "Vector Collapse!"
A blinding burst of space vectors shredded through the horde, leaving nothing but fading wisps of darkness in its wake. The ground trembled under the force of the attack, but Azvoid remained standing, panting from the exertion.
"Is that all you've got?" he growled, a wild grin splitting his face.
The Sentinel's voice echoed like the tolling of a death knell.
"You have proven your strength. Now prove your dominion."
Azvoid's smirk faltered. "Dominion? The hell does that mean?"
The fractured sky above trembled, cracks widening until something vast and monstrous descended. A creature of pure darkness, its form draped in chains of molten gold, eyes burning with an intelligence far beyond the ravenous beasts Azvoid had just torn through.
"That... That's different." Azvoid's pulse quickened, the sheer presence of the creature overwhelming. It towered above him, a nightmare made flesh.
The Sentinel's voice carried a note of finality.
"Your bloodline is one of power and chaos. But chaos uncontrolled is destruction. To conquer it, you must demonstrate your will over forces that would otherwise consume you."
Azvoid's hands clenched. The oppressive weight of the creature's presence bore down on him, his limbs trembling as he fought to stay upright.
"So, this is the test, huh?" he muttered, his voice a harsh rasp. "To prove I can dominate what should dominate me."
The creature lunged. Its jaws, jagged and merciless, tore toward him like a black hurricane. Azvoid's body blurred, twisting through the onslaught with Phantom Reflex guiding his every motion. But his attacks barely scratched the creature's hide.
"Damn... It's like hitting steel wrapped in darkness."
The beast roared, the sound a maelstrom of hatred and hunger. Azvoid's mind raced, trying to figure out how to defeat something this overwhelming.
"Noctis, any brilliant ideas?" he yelled, but only the suffocating silence of the trial world answered.
Azvoid's eyes narrowed. "Guess I'm on my own, then."
He unleashed Vector Collapse once more, but the creature tore through the distorted space with brutal indifference. The power was nowhere near enough.
Azvoid's thoughts churned. The Sentinel mentioned proving his will and dominion. His eyes flickered with realization.
"It's not about power alone... It's about command."
He drew a deep breath, forcing his trembling limbs to steady. His aura surged, the power of his bloodline roaring to life as he reached deep into his Wielder of Chaos talent.
Azvoid's voice rose, fierce and unyielding. "You want to test my dominion? Then kneel!"
He unleashed his power, not just to destroy, but to control. The space around the beast twisted and contracted, trapping it within a vortex of crushing force. The creature thrashed and roared, but the more it struggled, the tighter the vortex became.
His hands clenched tighter. His control was absolute. The creature's roars dwindled to whimpers, its massive form slowly bowing under the weight of Azvoid's will.
"Submit," Azvoid hissed, his words laced with authority.
The beast's gaze locked with his, and for a moment, the world held its breath.
Then it lowered its head.
The darkness dissipated, leaving Azvoid standing alone in the void. The Sentinel's voice returned, this time laced with something akin to approval.
"You have conquered the Trial of Will and Dominion. Your bloodline now holds the authority of true chaos."
Azvoid exhaled slowly, his entire body trembling from the ordeal. But his eyes sparkled with triumph.
"Looks like I passed your little test," he murmured.
The Sentinel's laughter was like the rumble of distant thunder.
"Your journey has only just begun."
