Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)-Chapter 207: Experimenting with Flames
Third Person's POV
"...and will try everything to eradicate this tumor before it blooms."
Ethan chuckled softly.
"You worry too much, Virelle."
He brushed his fingers against her cheek with his soothing yet firm touch.
"Do you really think I would be reckless enough to flaunt my abilities in the open? Especially after the warning you just gave me?"
She hesitated and her lips parted as if to argue.
"But—"
Ethan cut her off while his voice dropped into something darker and something more chilling.
"As for anyone who does witness it…"
A sinister gleam flickered in his eyes and sent a shiver down Virelle's spine.
"They won't live long enough to share that knowledge with another soul."
Velcy, who had been listening silently all this time suddenly looked up at him with an evident fascination in her ice-blue eyes.
She wasn't disturbed but she seemed almost mesmerized by the ominous and murderous glow in his eyes.
Virelle, however, was not so easily swayed. Seeing the naked admiration in Velcy's gaze, she decided not to argue further.
Instead, she leaned in close and captured Ethan's lips in a sudden possessive kiss.
The kiss was deep, and demanding and sent an unmistakable message to Velcy.

Velcy tensed immediately and was totally caught off guard. Her ice-blue eyes widened as she watched from mere inches away.
The soft and wet chuu~ sounds of the kiss made her shift uncomfortably, but then, a thought crept into her mind.
Looking at them, an unfamiliar desire stirred within her.
I want to touch his lips too.
Virelle smirked inwardly and believed that she had exactly achieved what she intended. But the reality was totally different.
Flustered by her own thoughts, which she only vaguely understood, Velcy abruptly bounced off Ethan's lap and onto the bed as she retreated with an upset pout.
She shot him a betrayed look, but before Ethan could acknowledge it, Virelle's grip on his face tightened and kept him locked in place as she deepened the kiss.
Ethan sighed inwardly and resisted the urge to shake his head in exasperation.
Why are these women so childish? I can understand Velcy, but Virelle too? Ahh, forget it. I should enjoy my kiss for now.
As these thoughts raced through his mind, he steadied Virelle's face and gradually matched her movements and rhythm.
Outside, the Blood Moon bathed the dark forest in its eerie crimson glow and cast long shadows over a silent carriage that moved like the wind in the silent Dark Forest.
The gnarled Nightroot Terrors of the Dark Forest were the sentient horrors that lurked along the roadside and usually hunted the passersby who used this treacherous but only route to travel.
But now they remained unnaturally still and completely disguised themselves as ordinary trees.
As the dark carriage passed by their positions, an immense fear gripped them even though the old Blood Slave at the reins did not spare them a single glance.
Ethan was lost in the kiss but was unaware that, in an unremarkable corner of his spatial ring, a small oval egg—pitch black with faint white speckles shuddered for a fleeting moment before falling still once more.
---
Ethan sat cross-legged on the grass with his eyes closed and his mind diving deep into the depths of his very cells.
He was searching and peeling back the layers of his Devil bloodline as he sought to understand its dormant potential.
The Astral Serenity Lotus inside his soul space pulsed with a soft violet glow and amplified his soul sense as it allowed him to probe deeper. Yet, one mystery still eluded him.
Since the day his bloodline awakened, he had been unable to find any information about the Sacred White Fire that had manifested within him. He knew that it was a fire unlike any other.
It did not simply burn but it also judged.
This sacred white fire incinerated beings who had committed uncountable atrocities and were tainted with resentment, pain, and refinement of living souls.
He had discovered this through experiments as he had pitted it against his dark magic. It had reacted normally and he had concluded that against ordinary elements, the fire behaved normally like it should.
At the same time, he was not stupid enough like some fanatics who were used to believing that all darkness was purely evil and his experiment proved his opinions to be true.
But against powers born of suffering and malevolence, it reacted violently and consumed them entirely.
To test his theory further, he had asked Virelle to attack him with her blood threads as his goal was to test them against the Blood Element.
It was an unorthodox element that mostly awakened within vampires though some rare cases were prevalent.
The moment her red threads came into contact with his flames, they shriveled and burned to cinders even though she resisted with all her efforts to control them.
Ethan concluded that the Blood Element was not inherently evil, but the fire had a normal actual advantage over it, just like the fire element had a natural advantage over wood and plant magic.
Yet, despite its miraculous properties, Ethan had no control over it.
It healed both his internal and external wounds and it responded to his instincts and followed his intent when he manipulated them skillfully but the deeper principles behind its magic remained a mystery to him.
Now, as he opened his eyes, he turned to the twenty or so dark goblins he had tied to a nearby tree.
Thin bloody threads bound them and cut deep into their bodies due to the tightness with which it was bound. After a while, their previous arrogance and greed had been replaced with pure unfiltered terror.
This group had ambushed them during a moment of leisure. But, instead of slaughtering them outright, Ethan had another use for them.
He approached and could sense the palpable resentment radiating from their bodies. At that moment, the violet Astral Serenity Lotus in his soul pulsed and released a violet expanse of light.
