"The time is upon us!"

In a massive hall, similar to an auditorium meant to house a million people, the sound of someone charismatic boomed.

The man who stood at the center of the stage, surrounded by an overflowing multitude of people, was none other than Paul—or perhaps Pariah, as he was called by most.

He was the Grandmaster, the Hero, the true leader of the humans who had banded together to take care of the threat that had befallen them.

It wasn't going to be long before the second wave started, so the people were in an especially excited, agitated, and fearful state. It was Paul's job, as the leader, to address his subjects.

The hall he currently occupied was just one of the many places he had to visit. Once he was done stirring up these people, he would go to the other places and do the same there.

'My presence is required to give everyone courage. I'll speak to the masses, granting them the ability to fight against the Demons, no matter the cost.'

With enough words, he could create the perfect subordinates who would do anything for him.

From the corner of his eyes, Paul could see Lilith. She was smiling at him, gently nodding. He knew she was having doubts about him, but that didn't really matter.

'She'll always be by my side… same as these people!'

Together, they would eliminate the threat of the Demons, and help him create a new world.

A world without evil.

A world without weakness.

A world without Jeremy.

[Hours Later]

Paul sat behind his office desk, awaiting the final meeting he would be having before the wave began.

Based on the System's Timer, they barely had three more hours before it began.

He had already given his commands to their footsoldiers, as well as to the other roles performed by the people in their Alliance. Everything was in place—well, almost everything.

"You all may come in." He spoke, not even waiting before he heard a knock on his door.

Thanks to his immensely high level, he could already sense them.

A few seconds after he spoke, the door opened, and a group of people trooped in. They were four in number.

Nye, leader of the Alpha Team

Lisa, leader of the Beta Team

Tia, leader of the Gamma Team.

And finally…

Luke, leader of the Omega Team.

These four were his most elite in the entire Alliance. They possessed Levels over two hundred, and they had Secondary Jobs.

They all had areas of specialization as well, though if he had to count on combat, then Tia was the weakest.

Still, they were his most powerful members. Which meant he had to address them specially.

"Greetings, Grandmaster." They all bowed before him in reverence.

The feeling of being respected by even those older than him never got old. Paul had grown to relish the sight the more he experienced it.

"Welcome. As you know, I have been going to the major halls in our respective zones to address the people there. I also trust you've spoken to your team members.

"Yes sir." They all responded.

"Good. We'll be having a crisis on our hands, and it's satisfactory that everyone is in place."

Weapons. Food. Water. Supplies, etc. All the resources they needed were already present. They had already prepared for this crisis long before now.

"All we have to do is move according to the plan, and we'll be fine."

The Gods were on his side. They assured him of his success. In return for being their dog, he would eliminate Jeremy Lewis.

It was a fair bargain, one which even he couldn't wait to savor.

"Well then, back to your stations. I simply wanted to see you all one final time before we begin the second wave."

Paul could see how their faces formed various emotions tantamount to awe and reverence. As expected, they were all wrapped around his finger.

"You are dismissed."

They all bowed and left, muttering words of praise as they exited his office.

"Haa…" He sighed, placing a hand on his head as he closed his eyes to think for a second.

"Are you ready, Paul?" A voice interrupted his thoughts.

It was, as expected, Lily.

"Yes. Everything is ready. A good amount of people are going to die in thei wave, but if I play my cards right, all the blame should fall on Jeremy."

"I… see…."

"And then, once we are done with this round, we'll finally be strong enough to confront him. And this time, I don't intend to lose."

"Okay. I'll help you as much as I can." She nodded gently, smiling like a doll.

"Thank you, Lily." He also broke into a smile.

"This time around, we're the ones who will win."

"... And after he said that, we left. That is all I have to report."

As I watched the man named Luke, leader of the Omega Division, divulge all the new secrets of the Human Alliance, I leaked out a smile.

"Good job."

Luke was currently on his knees, but he made sure to prostrate before me once again. Even though we were in a quiet and dark room, I could pretty much see everything.

"Should I continue to observe and report as usual?" He asked, causing me to stroke my chin a little.

We had been doing this for some time now, but considering the second wave was upon us, I thought it was time to end everything.

"There's no need." With the snap of my fingers, I caused Luke to vanish. Wherever he went to was left to anyone's imagination. "I think I'll take it from here."

Rising to my feet, I slowly began to alter my appearance. The man named Luke had jet-black hair, with red eyes, and a serious demeanor—nothing that was too difficult to replicate.

"How long are you going to stay quiet, Sariel?" I smiled, glancing at the sparkle of light that was rapidly changing into a fairy-like woman.

Even after I addressed her, she remained mute, folding her hands as she glared at me.

"Don't tell me you're still mad at me."

"You said you'd take action, yet for the past one week, you've not really done much. Isn't it better to clear the second wave and move on with the mission?"

I understood where she was coming from. Frankly, the plan could continue without me needing to go on this charade.

However…

"There's still something I need to do. For that, I'm willing to go down this route."

"Whatever…" She murmured, most likely still not convinced.

Well, it didn't matter to me. By the time I was done, she was going to understand.

"There's no need to rush things. All will happen in due time…"
