"To be praised by a master schemer like you, I’m truly flattered," Sima Fang laughed lightly. "Still, I’m amazed by your calmness. You can surely see that you have lost. Everyone has learned your secret and your sins. Even if you are powerful, we have King Dim Loog here. You have no way out. Is your composure born out of pride? If so, then I must say I’m disappointed."

"Do you prefer I show despair and fight desperately to escape?" Amon asked.

"That will be nice," Sima Fang replied. "That is what all villains do in their final act."

Amon observed the crowd another time while speaking. This time, he could see that most were no longer in his favor.

"I am not your average villain," Amon said. He turned to Xin Wuming.

"Brother?" Xin Wuming was puzzled by the stare.

"Scorched earth," Amon uttered.

Xin Wuming became even more confused after hearing the words, but recognition soon dawned on him. He remembered when Amon told him about these two words.

Amon shot into the sky after saying those words.

"Do not think you can flee...!!" Wu Di exclaimed. He was about to fly up, but the stinging pain in his chest caused him to wince.

"Don’t worry," Sima Fang put a hand on his shoulder. "He won’t escape."

Amon’s speed was fast. Yet, he still couldn’t outrun Lord Stage cultivators. He stopped when he found his path forward was blocked. Dim Loog and Xei Nuli were before him.

Dim Loog brandished his white bow. "I have heard from Sima Fang. She believed that after you attack Gyleth Marx, you will come for Farghous next. Your ambition truly knows no bounds. I will make sure someone like you won’t live past today. You won’t escape my arrow."

"Amon, I will not let you flee!"Xei Nuli exclaimed.

"I will give you the Longevity Pills if you help me flee this place," Amon told Xei Nuli.

Xei Nuli paused momentarily upon the offer. She exchanged glances with Dim Loog before saying, "That Sima Fang lady said you will try that on me. She also said that I can just take the pills from your space rings after we apprehend you."

"Amoonnn...!!!"

Amon turned to the loud voice. He saw Jiang Tong. Accompanying him were Lao Zen, Yong Baili, and many other Martial Realm Echos Soldiers.

"You bastard!" Jiang Tong scolded. "You repay His Majesty’s kindness with treachery. You deserve to die a thousand deaths! You won’t escape this place!"

The Echos Soldiers spread out. They covered every inch of the sky, cutting his escape paths.

"There is no way you can escape," Lao Zen said. "Surrender, and we will give you a fair trial."

"Fair trial? Any fair trial of him must end with him being beheaded!" Jiang Tong exclaimed.

While those people spoke, Amon was looking down. He saw Xin Wuming leaving the place with soldiers from the First Demon Army. These soldiers might no longer consider Amon their leader after learning his demonic secret, but they still looked up to Xin Wuming. Since Xin Wuming only ordered them to leave instead of helping Amon, they didn’t refuse the order.

Amon was glad that Xin Wuming heeded his words instead of being stubborn about coming to his aid. If Xin Wuming did that, he would have no choice but to leave him behind.

"Amon, are you willing to surrender? There is zero chance for you to escape," Lao Zen asked.

Amon grinned. "You people keep telling me that I have no way to escape. Do you think that saying it many times will make it a reality?"

"Bastard! It is pointless talking to him. Let’s finish him and be done with this!" Jiang Tong activated his silver form and charged toward Amon.

Hordes of battle puppets materialized before him. These battle puppets spread everywhere. They covered Amon from everyone’s view.

"Do not think these puppets can save you!" Dim Loog exclaimed. His white bow shot rapid arrows made of light. All the battle puppets struck by his arrows burst apart like balloons.

Xei Nuli advanced. The battle puppets directly before her were crushed with one hit from her palms. As for the other that surrounded her, they were bound by numerous wooden snakes that materialized around her.

Dim Loog’s arrows of light reached Amon first after tearing through many battle puppets. However, these arrows failed to touch Amon. The Beta Puppet floated before him and blocked the arrows using its energy shields.

Three different spots around Dim Loog and Xei Nuli darkened. A large dark tentacle shot out from these darkened spots.

This was Amon’s Elder God Tentacles. His mastery of this arcane art increased again after his cultivation increased. It was now at the expert level. The tentacle conjured from the darkened air was back to only one. However, he could conjure from three different spots and had a longer range than before. The tentacles were also larger and longer.

Aside from that, his infernal cultivation had also leveled up to the Intermediate Diabolic Stage. Now that he no longer needed to conceal his infernal cultivation, he could freely use this infernal energy to power his darkness-element art.

The infernal energy was not the only thing powering the Elder God Tentacles. Amon used the mixed aether from his mixed energy space. This gave the tentacles the power to threaten Lord Stage cultivators.

Dim Loog and Xei Nuli sensed the danger from these tentacles. They dared not be reckless.

Dim Loog diverted his aim and fired his arrows at the two tentacles coming for him, while Xei Nuli used her wooden snake to coil around the dark tentacle before it coiled around her.

While that was occurring, the Beta Puppet combined its energy shields. A barrier enveloped itself and Amon.

Both the Elder God Tentacles and the battle puppets couldn’t halt the two Lord Stage cultivators and the myriad of Martial Realm soldiers surrounding Amon. Despite their strong eroding power, the dark tentacles were soon destroyed after receiving multiple hits from Dim Loog and Xei Nuli. A large portion of the battle puppets were also obliterated. The remaining battle puppets couldn’t stop the Martial Realm soldiers from approaching Amon.

"Amoonn...! Surrender your life!" Jiang Tong was the first to reach the barrier encapsulating Amon and the Beta Puppet. He brought his giant silver axe down on the barrier.

The barrier held.

Jiang Tong lifted his axe again. As he did, his body turned golden, and so did his axe. With the power of the Gold Form, Jiang Tong brought his axe down another time. This time, the cleave caused the barrier to crack.

"Stop hiding! There is nowhere to go!" Dim Loog exclaimed. He shot an arrow of light that struck the barrier.

At the same time, Xei Nuli also arrived and landed a palm on the barrier.

The energy barrier couldn’t withstand the three powerful attacks. It burst into pieces. Everyone was surprised by what they saw.

The barrier created by the Beta Puppet not only protected everyone inside but also acted as a concealment screen. No one could see what was inside the barrier. What surprised everyone after the barrier was destroyed was that they only saw the Beta Puppet. Amon was gone.

"Did he use an invisible talisman?" Jiang Tong quickly thought. His giant axe transformed into two long whips. It lashed the air around the barrier. Even if invisible, Amon couldn’t avoid the whips without blocking them.

Yet, he didn’t feel his whips hit anything.

"No...," Dim Loog uttered. "Even if he is using an invisible talisman, he cannot escape our Lord Stage’s sense... I can’t sense his presence."

Dim Loog turned to Xei Nuli, whose expression indicated that it was the same for her.

Amon had disappeared. All he left behind was the Beta Puppet and the few surviving battle puppets.

A hundred miles from Golden Stone City, the air shivered, and Amon materialized. He looked around the place. Luckily, it was a desolate wilderness. He didn’t see or sense any people in the vicinity.

He was transported here by using the Teleport Stone, the low-tier ancient tool he gained together with the Divine Immortal Growth Pill. The stone broke apart after usage.

After looking around further, he identified the area where he was. The stone teleported him randomly. Even he couldn’t know where he would end up.

The reason he caused havoc before using the stone was to cover his escape. Though the stone activated instantly, it left a faint trace for a short moment. If someone locked onto his aura, they could follow this trace and estimate the general direction he was teleported to.

With his battle puppets fighting everyone, the energy around the place was chaotic. No one would have the time or concentration to focus only on him. Even Dim Loog and Xei Nuli momentarily diverted their attentions to deal with the Elder God Tentacles. Plus, everyone was sure that Amon could not escape.

Of course, with the range of one hundred miles, even if the enemies learned the general direction he was teleported to, they would still take some time to arrive. Nevertheless, Amon was unwilling to take the chance. Sacrificing the Beta Puppets and a few battle puppets was worth it to ensure his escape. He still had plenty of battle puppets inside his black space ring.

"Mm..." Amon looked to the West before heading there.
