Rise of The Anti God-Chapter 777: Going Underground?
"Is something wrong?" Linda asked with a look of concern when they saw how these four had their expressions suddenly changed at the mention of Ghoul City.
Lily smiled and said, "It's nothing. We were just thinking how horrible it would be if any of us ended up there."
"Nah, don't worry about it. Leader wouldn't send us there, not without some nice support. For now, we would only be going over here," Jake pointed to a location right near the border of the Twilight Continent where the symbol of another station was displayed.
"Browncloud Station? Is that the station we have to help?" Reva asked with knitted brows.
Gunner nodded, "Yes. It is quite a small station, maybe about 1/5th of our size, but the ghouls around that place had somehow sniffed out the location of their station."
"Will we be really alright? I-I…don't know if I might hold you guys back…" Ana suddenly spoke up in a meek voice with a worried look.
"Ana, you have nothing to worry about. You won't hold us back, and I will be there to make sure not even a single strand of hair of yours will get harmed," Berret said with a reassuring smile as he patted his huge chest.
"Tsk, why do we have a crybaby here? Why did our leader even assign her for these kinds of missions?" Lita clicked her tongue with an annoyed look, making Ana droop her head.
"Hey, that's not nice. She is concerned for all of us, and even you will understand how much we need her soon," Berret said with a displeased look.
"Pfft, she is the weakest in our group. There is no way we would be depending on a weakling if things get tough," Becca said as she rolled her eyes.
"Enough!" Gunner sharply said, making Becca and Lita purse their lips and look away with indignation expressions.
"We aren't here to argue. Don't forget. If we don't work as a team, we are as good as dead," Gunner reprimanded the two before looking over at the map, "Our ship will be coming anytime soon, but till then, I want you guys to look over the plan I formulated."
Gunner simply tapped in the space above the map as certain lines and crosses were displayed while he began to explain his plan.
Shortly after, Yuria felt a faint vibration coming from the earth under her feet and furrowed her brows. The vibration began to get stronger by the second till her sisters also began to feel it.
"Finally. Our ride is here," Gunner said with a smirk, making the four beauties glance at each other with confused looks.
Just as Yuria was about to ask something, the vibration under her feet got quite intense before the earth just a few feet away from her suddenly cracked and split itself apart.
And to the astonishment of the four, they saw a large dusty brown pointy thing coming out of the earth.
Yuria was the first among the four to make some sense of what it was. She could see that it had a shape similar to that of a jet, but the difference was there were no wings, and this underground vehicle was quite long, with fifteen seats inside.
"An underground ship?" She asked to which Gunner nodded, "This is the ride I was talking about. Of course, going by air is easier and faster. But as you all already know, it's dangerous since daemons and ghouls might be flying around for all we know. So the only solution is underground, which ghouls will find it quite hard to track or sense. Now come on. Time is of the essence!" Gunner jumped inside the ship, sitting on the pilot seat while Lily, Reva, and Valentina were still surprised by the existence of such a vehicle.
They wondered what it would be like to travel underground, which they had never done, while Yuria also looked forward to it.
Submarines could transport people underwater, but she had never seen a vehicle that could transport people underground directly in her past life. The best that was possible was creating underground tunnels.
But this vehicle seemed like it could create small tunnels for itself based on its shape with a sharp tip and sturdy metal body.
"Put on your seatlockers, everyone. This could be quite a bumpy ride," Jake announced, especially since Lily and her friends were new to all this.
Lily, Reva, and Valentina had looks of confusion as they saw the others pressing a button as a metal belt wrapped around their shoulders and waist, locking them to their seats quite firmly.
Yuria felt that these guys had quite the advanced version of seatbelts and chuckled to herself as she pressed the large blue button on her armrest, and immediately metal belts wrapped over her shoulders and waist.
She couldn't help but feel that no matter which world, humans could end up making similar things. And what fascinated her more was the fact that humans weren't just natives of Earth but probably other planets as well.
"Everyone, please firmly hold on to the grips on your seat. Some feeling of disorientation is normal for the first time," Gunner warned, meaning it for Lily and her team.
Yuria held on tightly to the grips of her seat and saw Gunner pressing some buttons as a holographic display projected from the dashboard, which was also projecting a map.
She could understand some things, especially where Gunner was setting the destination location.
"When we come out, what if we come upon ghouls?" Reva asked just to be sure.
Gunner smirked and said, "No need to worry about that. This ship will tell us if there are any hostiles, be it fiends or ghouls prowling around our destination."
"This ship can sense ghouls?" Lily asked with an astonished look. This was the first time she heard a vehicle could sense living things.
"I know it's a cool function. We actually call these ships the Burrower, and these things come with something known as a radar that can sense energies that are not made up of ethereal energy. Quite a work of genius this thing is," Gunner said with a look of praise as he activated the ship.
And just as the Burrower took off, her eyes widened when her body was suddenly jerked backward, and she closed her eyes instinctively while holding onto the grip tightly.
