Mira narrowed her eyes and said, "I hate to say this, but you were right…He seems to be on to you. You better be careful, for your aunt's sake. If anything slips up before him…it's over. I didn't expect Master to know that we were here already."

"You don't have to be so concerned about me. I know my way around people like him," Damien said with a half-smile, his mouth close to her ear.

Mira felt her ear tickle when his breath brushed against it, making her feel weird, "Don't flatter yourself. I am telling this for the sake of my Master."

"Sure. I didn't say otherwise," Damien softly chuckled.

Not long after, a young man with a constipated look entered the hall, his gait sluggish.

"Young Lord Lehron of the Nightshade Clan enters the hall!" The usher's announcement only made Lehron grit his teeth since he knew what he had to do by coming here.

Just a few minutes ago, he was gloating and dreaming, thinking about how Mira will have to kneel before him and beg for his forgiveness.

But who would have thought that he would be ordered to kowtow before all these people like some pushover when he didn't even do anything wrong in the first place.

Even though none of those 50 representatives were directly looking at him, he could feel their indirect gazes on him, making his face burn.

He not only got slapped in public but now her Master was going to make him undergo something worse. At this point, he wished he could just beg his father to simply let this matter go since his face was more important than some slave fight.

However, when he looked towards his father for some help, his father wasn't even looking at him. Instead, War Elder Ruhar was helplessly shaking his head.

Mehron still had the same composed look as he said when Lehron stood in the center, "My son is here, Chief Godwin. Lehron, apologize to the Chief first and then kowtow before our Great One so that he will acknowledge how dearly you hold our values and respect our teachings."

Lehron didn't know why but he felt a little better when his father made it seem like he was going to kowtow for a noble thing.

But standing before the Chief, he felt as if he was standing on a bed of needles. This pressure…was this proof of how mighty she was?

He bowed 45 degrees toward the Chief and apologized in a feeble, polite tone, "I-I apologize…for my disrespectful behavior…Chief Godwin."

Akira squinted her eyes and simply gave a soft nod, which Lehron took as a signal to now kowtow towards the giant statue.

Mira and Damien were standing inside the chamber behind the giant statue of the Purple Thunder Knight.

"Master is doing this for us. She is making him kowtow before us without his knowledge. This is one of the reasons why Master is the greatest of all time. She is impressive in whatever she does," Mira mumbled with a look of awe and respect while feeling satisfied to see this little scum on his knees right in front of her.

Damien could see how greatly Mira respected his aunt. He also felt satisfied to see Lehron kowtowing in front of him, "The more things I learn about her, the more I also think she is amazing. I am lucky to have her as my aunt," Damien knew that his aunt was not doing this to simply rub it on Mehron's face but also for their sake since they were the ones who were truly wronged. He couldn't help but feel more fond of her.

"O Great One, this humble child of yours requests your forgiveness for not remembering your teachings when I needed them the most. I will henceforth be mindful of my actions and will try my best to not disappoint you or our people again," Lehron blurted out the words his father had told him to memorize while kowtowing before the statue. He was clenching his fists as he just coughed these words out, wanting to end this fast before the humiliation got to him.

But he could feel the gazes of pity and ridicule on him as he kowtowed like a fool. He couldn't remember the last time anybody even did something like this in the hall.

After what seemed like an eternity to him, he got up with a taut expression and gave a bow before the Chief, "May this young lord leave, Chief Godwin?"

"You may leave," Akira said now that she had at least made sure that he wouldn't dare to do anything like this again. This humiliation will always be a sore spot in his mind.

Lehron left as Mehron spoke up with a light smile, "I hope my son's apology was satisfactory to you. So how about we discuss what's about to come next?"

"Lehron's slave will fight my slave after two weeks."

"Hmm…And we can assume the rules would be as always, right?"

"Yes. It would be," Akira said with a subtle squint of her eyes.

Mehron nodded and then said, "Now that we have settled that matter, we actually have one important matter left to discuss."

"Which is?" Akira's gaze narrowed as she noticed Moldark leaning forward as well.

Mehron showed some hesitation on his face before saying, "We have tried our best to not remind you, but the people are worried, and it is our duty to remind you. Your Lordship's 4th sacred initiation was already over 100 years ago. But…Your Lordship has yet to bear an heir to take upon the burden of our future. We can understand if you had your own reasons for not marrying so far, but as per our laws, Your Lordship has to bless our people with an heir before the next Fallen Eclipse. The next Fallen Eclipse is barely 5 years away, and after that, the next one would be 500 years later, which would be too late. So we wanted to know what Your Lordship has planned regarding this. Of course, someone of your station, power, and beauty would naturally need the best among the best. So, if Your Lordship has a hard time choosing the right one, we can let the people decide on a worthy man from our four ancient clans."

"The fuck is he talking about?" Damien narrowed his eyes, as he didn't like where this was going.
