RISE OF EROS-Chapter 762 - 761
The appearance of a new girl surprised everyone again, especially because she seemed much more powerful than Aqua. It was evident from the way she treated the sea spirit girl.
"My name is Terra, an earth spirit. I believe you must already know of my existence and that of my sisters. I'm sorry if Aqua gave you a bad impression. I just hope you forgive her," she said.
Her humble attitude made everyone feel she was a reasonable person, and they put aside their grievances and annoyances toward Aqua. Only Aqua felt she had been bullied, but she didn't say anything; she just stood there pouting like a little girl.
"May I know the reason for your presence until now?" Andrew asked. It was true that he felt Terra was more reasonable than Aqua, but being with her, he couldn't let his guard down.
These spirits had a strange relationship and way of thinking; Andrew still couldn't figure out if they were friends or enemies. Terra, noticing this, smiled and replied, "We thought we'd let Aqua handle things, but she's still young."
Everyone rolled their eyes upon hearing Terra say Aqua was young, as it was evident she had existed for thousands of years. Terra, being perceptive again, cleared up any doubts, "Just as long-lived races mature late, we spirits are the same."
After a short pause, she clarified, "It's true that Aqua is nearly 5,000 years old, but to spirits, that age is merely a teenager. Understand, we are existences similar to gods". Although the last part seemed like she was belittling them, she really wasn't; she was simply expressing that gods and spirits were similar beings in terms of maturity.
Fluffy, who understood this well, decided to clarify things so they wouldn't go astray. "What she says is not without foundation. Gods and spirits mature more slowly". "What about divine beasts?" Andrew suddenly asked.

Crhono, like Fluffy, is a divine beast, and although his age is similar to Aqua's, he seems to be a wise and mature old man, which is why he asked. According to this, divine beasts were different from spirits and gods. Fluffy smiled and replied, "That's correct. We divine beasts are a little different."
After a short pause, Fluffy continued, "If you're divine beasts like me who were born in the realm of the gods, we're somewhat similar to them in terms of the time we mature, but for ascended divine beasts like Crhono, it's different."
"You mean that by living so long in the mortal world, they mature faster, is that correct?" Andrew asked again, catching on to what Fluffy had said, and she nodded, "That's correct". "Well, we can learn from that later. Now what I want to know is your position," Andrew said, focusing his gaze again on Terra and Aqua.
The two spirits sighed, and Terra spoke. "We know the situation the continent is in, and believe me, we want to help, but we can't," Terra said uncomfortably. Andrew and the others furrowed their brows at her.
They couldn't understand, and Terra continued, "We're not here because we wanted to, but because we had to stay." Adopting a serious expression, Terra added, "You don't know the whole story."
With that introduction, Terra began to tell them the reason Aqua had said they would remain neutral. It really wasn't that they didn't want to help, it was that they couldn't.
It turns out that when the fallen god was killed during the war a thousand years ago, his body wasn't destroyed, not because the gods and spirits couldn't do it, but because the fallen god was too cunning.
When cornered, he used a strange technique to protect his life. The fallen god separated part of his existence and hid it, so when he lost the battle, he didn't really die. Unfortunately, the gods didn't notice this.
They believed that the fallen god simply possessed an indestructible body and despite being killed, they could not completely destroy him. Even Crhono and Sereda's progress in destroying fragments was only because it was a small part of the fallen god's body.
If they tried the same thing with the remnants, they would only fail. That's why their investigations were unproductive, as they were looking for the wrong solution. It turns out that the essence of the fallen god was in this city, only it was sealed.
The fallen god had hidden here and would wait for all the gods to leave before escaping, but these five spirits accidentally discovered his plan, and that's why they stayed.
In fact, they wanted to return to the realm of the gods, but they couldn't leave this threat behind when they discovered it, so in order to seal this essence, they stayed, and for all these years they have been protecting the seal.
They couldn't leave this place because the moment they left, the essence of the fallen god would escape, and at that moment, there would be nothing to prevent it from returning to its body, and then it would revive.
Even merging all the remnants of the fallen god wouldn't revive him; it would only bring his body back to life, but it wouldn't have the same power it had before. Although it would be devastating to this world, it would still be less catastrophic than letting the essence escape.
So, it wasn't that the spirits didn't want to help; it was that they couldn't move, or the seal would break and disaster would fall. Upon hearing this, everyone paled, as they hadn't expected to learn such a secret.
"What can we do to help? Is there no way to destroy it?" Biacko asked, understanding the extent of the danger they were in. Terra looked at him bitterly and replied, "Unless a powerful god or spirit descends, it would be difficult with our power."
"In short, are you saying that no matter what we do, there's no way to defeat it unless disaster strikes?" Andrew asked. From Terra's words, he could understand a few things.
First of all, they couldn't destroy the essence of the fallen god on their own. That's why they needed a powerful divine being, but those existences wouldn't descend to this world unless the fallen god was revived.
By the time that happened, everything would be over, so it was redundant to think about that. The second thing was that the fallen god's body couldn't be destroyed either, so in the end, they had no options.
"Well, that's not entirely correct. There's you," Terra said, and before anyone could ask, he continued, "The problem is, you're not a combat god candidate or one with a special domain that would allow us to seal it more tightly."
"So I'm useless?" Andrew asked bitterly. He wasn't upset with Terra's words, just bitter, because he truly felt useless, but to his surprise, Terra didn't believe that.
"If you were just an Eros god candidate, yes, you would be useless, but you've absorbed the divinity of a water god. As we know, there are remnants of deceased gods in this world. If you absorb their divinities, it might be different."
"Wait," Fluffy immediately jumped in. She wasn't willing to, because while Andrew managed to absorb the god's divinity in the Land of Rivers, there was no guarantee he could do the same to the others.
In fact, no one had ever attempted that before, and falling into corruption would be very easy due to all that accumulated divinity from different domains, so Fluffy wasn't willing and expressed her fears.
"What you say is true, however, if it's not done, the fallen god will definitely revive. That doesn't depend on anyone or circumstances; it's an irrefutable fact," Terra said seriously.
"In short, what you're saying is better than risking me falling into corruption and destroying everything on my own in order to gain what's necessary to avoid absolute calamity, right?" Andrew asked, understanding.
"That's correct. While the likelihood of you falling into corruption is high, and in doing so, becoming a calamity on the same level as the fallen god, it's the only option we have if we don't want to see the fallen god revive," Terra stated.
"Risk a possible calamity or surrender to absolute calamity," Biacko said bitterly, and Terra could only agree bitterly, as the situation was truly as he described.
"We have no choice," Andrew said determinedly. Everyone looked at him and knew it was something that had to be done, and that he had already accepted it. "As we know, there are six gods still in this world," Terra said.
Pausing, he added, "You've already absorbed the one in the power of the liquid spirits, so that leaves five more. One was with the dragons, but I think Crhono has already absorbed it."
Biacko attended. Few people knew about it, but Biacko, as one of the dragon kings, knew about Crhono's relationship with the god who protected the dragons, so he confirmed what Terra had said.
Terra sighed upon hearing this and continued, "So, that leaves only the god in possession of the Cannes vampires, the god in possession of the northern elves, the god in possession of the prairie beastmen, and the god in possession of the angels."
