Return of the Mythic Bloodline-Chapter 344: Clash with Eternal Sage
Although I had removed my mask, there was no slit mark visible on my forehead, as I had asked Ume to cast an illusion spell to keep it hidden in case the mask was damaged.
"Show me what the master of the greatest warriors of the Western Continent is truly capable of," I said as I took a fighting stance.
The moment those words left my mouth, the air around Master Robert grew thick. His gaze sharpened as blue lightning danced violently along his blade.
"Brat, do you think you can bear the weight behind your words?" Master Robert muttered in a deep, husky voice.
From his words alone, a suppressive pressure descended upon me. The ground beneath my feet cracked apart from the sheer force, and it took every ounce of my strength to remain standing.
In the very next instant, he vanished from his position, leaving behind only a blurry afterimage.
My Divine Sense screamed for me to dodge, but before I could even move, his sword had already reached my abdomen.
Gritting my teeth, I swung my blade to block the attack.
The moment the blades clashed, I was sent crashing into one of the royal chambers surrounding the garden.
"At the end of the day, I still cannot bridge the gap of two major realms between us," I muttered as I rose to my feet, brushing debris off my body.
"It is commendable that you managed to block my attack at your realm," Master Robert said as he approached me with slow yet heavy steps. "But that is all. You cannot defeat me. Drop your sword and submit."
"Submit, huh?" I murmured softly. "If I cannot even defeat someone far past his prime, how can I hope to fight against the entire empire?"
"Vivi, activate Eyes of the Fallen and Blessing of Jambavan."
"Initializing Host's request…"
"Eyes of the Fallen activated!"
"Analyzing Host's opponent…"
"Opponent is in a higher realm than the Host!"
"Activating Blessing of Jambavan…"
A violent crimson bear spirit burst forth from my forehead and merged into my entire body.
Tearing apart the ribbon that bound my hair, my black strands spread freely, turning into a deep crimson hue.
"Blessing of Jambavan activated!"
"Alert! Excessive Soulforce consumption detected due to simultaneous activation of Eyes of the Fallen and Blessing of Jambavan. Deactivation of one skill is advised."
Unknowingly, a wide smirk curled across my face as my entire body began burning, as if I were being boiled from within.
"What is it that you find so amusing?" Master Robert asked, irritation flickering across his face.
"Hehehehahahahahahaha!" My thunderous laughter echoed across the mountain peak as I repeatedly facepalmed myself like a madman.
After laughing continuously for an entire minute, I gestured toward him beckoningly and muttered, my smirk widening, "Bring it on!"
Master Robert's eyes narrowed, a clear sign of annoyance at my sudden shift in demeanor.
Just like before, he rushed at me at insane speed, leaving behind a blurred afterimage.
This time, however, I could clearly see him approaching.
A thin thread of golden light appeared before my eyes, revealing the exact path I needed to follow to break through his attack.
In a swift yet precise motion, I swung my blade, mirroring the pattern shown before me. My sword struck the center of Master Robert's long blade, forcing it toward the ground.
At the same time, another wave of golden light appeared, pointing straight at his face.
I clenched my free hand as clusters of crimson lightning danced around my fist and launched it forward.
"Lightning Bolt Version:
Galactic Punch!"
Midway through the attack, the golden guiding thread abruptly vanished.
However, I did not stop.
I drove my punch forward with full force. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
A thunderous explosion rang out, the dark night turning crimson as webs of lightning spread in all directions from the impact.
Moments later, droplets of blood splattered onto the ground. However, the blood did not belong to Master Robert.
It was mine.
My fist had been torn apart after colliding with a blue lightning barrier Master Robert had formed at the last moment.
"I do not know what forbidden technique you used to amplify your strength," Master Robert said as he forcibly freed his sword with a sudden jolt. "But you cannot overcome the difference in attribute class through mere tricks. You will never defeat me with the Calamity-class lightning you possess!"
Despite the injury to my hand, the smile never left my face. After his declaration, the smirk only widened.
"In that case," I declared while retreating a few steps, "I will simply match the class of lightning you are using."
Master Robert's eyes narrowed at my seemingly absurd statement.
"What did you just say—"
His words died midway as the crimson lightning surrounding my body began to change, shifting into a deep oceanic blue.
"H-how is this possible?" Master Robert muttered, his eyes, usually half-closed, widening in shock at the impossible sight before him.
"Hahahaha! Do not lose your focus, Master Robert!" I shouted, excitement flooding my expression. "The real fun is only beginning!"
"Blink."
In an instant, my body vanished, leaving behind a streak of lightning as I appeared before him, my blade descending toward his head.
He reacted immediately, raising his sword to block. However, I activated Blink once more, reappearing behind him, my sword still swinging downward.
Thanks to the heightened senses granted by his cultivation realm, he sensed me at the last moment and barely managed to block the strike.
"H-how many things are you hiding, Lucifer Morningstar?" he demanded. "Is that even your real name?"
"Hehehehehe. Guess," I replied as I continued my relentless assault.
I used Blink repeatedly, launching a barrage of erratic sword strikes from every direction.
Our clash became so fast that we appeared as nothing more than two streaks of lightning colliding across every corner of the mountain peak.
Finally, irritated by my unpredictable attacks and incessant laughter, he repelled me with a powerful shockwave.
"I will not underestimate you any longer," Master Robert said coldly. "I will fight you seriously now. Try not to die."
