Chapter 267: Chapter 262: Boarding the Ship

Ji Hong instinctively rejected the mention of the port, unsure if it was because of the unpleasant incidents on the ship.

She always felt she was at odds with ships.

Ji Hong slightly frowned, looking out the window.

The journey from the small fishing village to the town wasn’t far, just a dozen minutes by car.

The town was distinctly more bustling than the small fishing village, no longer with low single-story houses but a few five or six-story small buildings, uniformly situated by the roadside.

The road was noticeably wider than in the village, allowing three cars to pass side by side, with neatly planned streetlights along the sides.

However, there were few small cars on the road; most were large trucks transporting sea fish and shrimp.

Ji Hong was seeing these sights for the first time, and her gaze was inevitably drawn outside.

This is really different from the chaotic times.

It seemed she truly arrived at a strange place.

Ji Hong thought.

Until the car she was riding in stopped.

"Time to get off."

The second superpower user reminded her.

There were no outsiders here, and none of the four superpower users wore masks, instead sporting sunglasses.

Seeing this, Ji Hong also asked the head superpower user for a pair of sunglasses to wear.

They parked a distance away from the port, needing to walk over.

Ji Hong remained alert to the surroundings.

But the people here were all in a hurry, either transporting goods or pulling them.

The fishy smell was pervasive.

This was truly suffering for the superpower users with refined senses.

So the four of them silently took out masks and wore them over their mouths.

Ji Hong pressed her lips together.

She wielded superpowers of Water Element, Wind Element, and Healing System, where the sea breeze and seawater became part of her senses, providing her with information.

Suddenly, a faint sound reached her from a distance, causing her ears to twitch.

"Excuse me, do you have a wounded girl here? She’s my distant cousin..."

"She has short hair, wears silver earrings, and isn’t very fond of smiling..."

"She fell into the sea, rescued by someone..."

"Please recall, has anyone recently saved a girl from the sea..."

...

Ji Hong momentarily slowed her pace, glancing in the direction of the voice.

"What’s wrong?"

The head superpower user thought she was about to flee, and warily stayed by her side.

Ji Hong couldn’t clearly see the person’s face, she withdrew her gaze, snorted coldly, "Nothing."

The five of them continued walking forward.

The town’s port was much larger than the fishing village’s, with three docks built.

They headed to the middle dock, where a medium-sized freighter was unloading goods.

The dock workers constantly coming and going were busy transporting marine goods.

Walking amongst these people, they appeared quite out of place.

Yet the dock workers only curiously glanced at them before resuming their unloading and transporting tasks.

The head superpower user approached the ship, asking, "Which one is Master Huang Liu?"

The bald man supervising on the deck sized them up with a hint of disdain, pointing inside the cabin, "Master Liu is resting inside."

"Thank you..."

The head superpower user led the other four carefully avoiding the workers hauling goods, heading toward the cabin.

As they ventured deeper, more people like the bald man appeared.

Unlike the honest workers outside, their eyes scanned them as if scrutinizing some cargo.

Ji Hong greatly disliked those kind of looks, wishing she could blind them.

She quietly clenched her fists, lowering her presence, hiding amongst the group.

Inside the ship’s cabin, smoke swirled, and the heavy scent of tobacco hit them as they entered.

Ji Hong slightly frowned, seeing clearly through the haze.

A dozen shirtless men surrounded four or five others playing cards.

"Three Ks, two Aces, one three, here goes... fork over the cash, fork over the cash..."

One man tattooed with a fierce tiger on his arm puffed on a cigarette, slammed down his cards, then leaned back, laughing heartily.

The men playing cards with him looked somewhat dejected, tossing their cards down and reaching for money.

"Sixie is very lucky with cards today."

"Indeed, when isn’t Brother Six lucky with cards?"

"Come on, Brother Six, take a fresh cigarette..."

The men around flatteringly praised the card-winning man.

The man called Master Liu, Brother Six, laughed heartily, pulled out a few bills from his winnings to give to one man among them.

"Here, buy some soda for the guys."

"You got it."

"Say, who are you people?" The man had just turned with money when he saw the five blocking the door.

Everyone turned their gaze at the sound.

Their sudden scrutiny was even more intense than those outside the ship. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

The head superpower user instantly felt a heightened sense of caution.

This bunch had seen blood...

"Apologies, we didn’t mean to interrupt. Boss Ning sent us to find Master Huang Liu."

Once those words were spoken, the people in the cabin looked even sharper.

In Master Huang Liu’s eyes was visible a hint of murderous intent, though it swiftly vanished.

Immediately following, Master Huang Liu’s face lit with a wild grin, standing to wave them over.

"Ah, it’s Boss Ning’s folks, hurry over. Always hear Third Brother talk about her, she’s really this," Huang Liu gave the head superpower user a thumbs-up.

The second superpower user, standing behind the head, eyes flickered subtly.

The relations didn’t seem too great...

"Rest assured, I’ll definitely get you to your destination," Huang Laoliu reached out, patting the head superpower user’s shoulder, and handed him the cigarette tucked behind his ear.

The head superpower user politely declined, but Huang Laoliu had already hooked his arm around his shoulder, acting brotherly, "Not giving Brother Six face?"

"No..."

The second superpower user quickly stepped forward, firmly grasped Huang Laoliu’s hand, eagerly said, "I’ve long heard about Brother Six from Boss Ning, always wanted to pay respect, finally met. Try this from me..."

The second superpower user took advantage of handing over the cigarette to free the head user.

The two exchanged cigarettes, smoking while chatting.

Beside them, Ji Hong glanced around the cabin settings, feeling she had boarded a pirate ship.

Elsewhere.

Chang Ru, who had been persistently searching for someone, was suddenly covered with a cloth from behind.

Lost consciousness in an instant.

When she awoke again, she found herself tied hand and foot, sitting inside a shaking, dim cabin.

"Mmm mmm... mmm mmm..."

Her mouth was stuffed with rag, making sounds strenuously.

Is anyone there?

Help me...

While her mind spun scenarios of post-kidnapping, she heard the sound of a door opening, the dim cabin finally illuminating.

Two burly, shirtless men entered.

Their expressions fierce, as they saw her awake, they approached, hoisting her like a sack of sand, carrying her out of the cabin.

Only then did Chang Ru realize she was on a cargo ship.

All around was an endless sea.

Chang Ru regretted bitterly at this moment.

If she had known she’d be kidnapped, she wouldn’t have shaken off the Sun Family to act solo.

Darn it—

Where are they taking her?

As she lamented her miserable future, the man carrying her dumped her onto the deck.

So painful...

No sooner had she caught her breath, a familiar voice sounded nearby.

"Fancy meeting you again, Miss Chang..."
