Remarriage Failed Again Today-Chapter 37: I Just Want to Help You
’This woman seems to have become difficult to deal with.’
Vivian Yates shook Leona Grant’s arm and said in a delicate voice, "Leona... I’m sorry for causing you trouble again."
"It’s nothing. Let’s go," Leona Grant said nonchalantly.
Before starting the engine, he glanced back at the villa with a meaningful look. Finally, with a slight curl of his lips, he sped off.
...
Annabelle Linton sat in the living room for a moment before standing up again.
’Today was the day Leona Grant’s parents were returning. Even though she and Leona were about to get divorced, there was no real need to suck up to his parents.
But if she didn’t go today and something went wrong, preventing the divorce, she’d never forgive herself.’
Annabelle Linton picked up the gift she had prepared for Leona Grant’s parents and headed out.
After looking around outside, she suddenly had the urge to laugh.
’Leona Grant was truly ruthless. He’d sent all the household drivers away and even locked the garage. What on earth was he trying to accomplish by doing this?
Force her to either ride in his car and watch him dote on Vivian Yates, or fend for herself?’
’Damn it!’
’What an asshole!’
With no car, her only option was to hail a cab. But this was a wealthy neighborhood where every household had its own cars; taxis rarely came this far in. Annabelle Linton had no choice but to walk along the road and hope to find one.
She could have called a driver from the Linton Family over, but after a moment’s thought, she abandoned the idea.
Knowing Yvonne Miller’s tendency to make a mountain out of a molehill, she knew even the smallest issue would be blown out of proportion. She didn’t want to worry Ryan.
Annabelle Linton frowned. ’Looks like I’ll just have to get lucky.’
She walked for a long time, but not a single taxi appeared. Her feet began to ache in her high heels, and even with her usually good temper, she couldn’t help but feel angry.
Annabelle Linton closed her eyes and took a deep breath, her hands clenching into fists. Unable to contain her frustration, she violently kicked a nearby flowerbed railing and cursed, "Fucking morons! Every single one of them is insane!"
"HONK—"
A car horn blared from behind. Annabelle Linton froze for a moment before turning around, bewildered.
A blue Lamborghini had pulled up in front of her. The window slowly rolled down, revealing a handsome young face.
The man had his hair parted down the middle and was wearing a white shirt. His light-brown hair glinted in the sunlight, and his narrow eyes watched her with a roguish glint. A devilishly charming smile played on his lips. "Need a hand, beautiful?"
Annabelle Linton snapped out of her daze, gave him a cold glance, and turned to walk away.
"Hey, beautiful, no need to be so cold. Let’s be friends."
Annabelle Linton ignored him and kept walking.
After walking for a bit, she noticed the car was slowly following her. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
When she walked, it moved. When she stopped, it stopped.
Annabelle Linton stopped in her tracks and asked expressionlessly, "What exactly do you want?"
Her tone wasn’t hostile, but it was certainly impolite.
Chase Lynch, however, didn’t seem annoyed. With one hand on the steering wheel and the other resting lazily on the open window, he said in a cocky tone, "I have this weakness—I just can’t stand to see a pretty girl in distress. I’ve been following you for half an hour, and no one’s come to get you. Plus, you seemed really upset back there. Did you have a fight with your boyfriend?"
Annabelle Linton suddenly found the situation hilarious. ’He actually followed me for half an hour!’
’Is he that bored?’
"You can’t stand seeing a girl in distress, is that right?" Annabelle Linton glanced off to her side and said coolly, "Since you’re so eager to help, don’t you think *she* needs it more?"
Chase Lynch followed her gaze and saw an older woman sweeping the street. His expression immediately soured.
When he turned back, he saw Annabelle Linton had already walked a good distance away. He leisurely caught up and said, "Come on, don’t be like that. I genuinely just want to help. Give me a chance, will you?"
