Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love-Chapter 363 - 361: Si Wen, Save Me
Before long, the tantalizing aroma of grilled meat permeated the air. Xue Yang was somewhat surprised; Lin Xi really knew how to grill.
"How is it? It smells amazing, doesn’t it?"
Xue Yang affirmed, "It smells amazing!"
"Just wait a bit longer; it’s almost ready."
"Okay."
Lin Xi brushed the grilled meat with a special barbecue sauce, flipped it, and after some skillful flipping, the meat became a very appetizing golden-brown. She picked up the grilled meat, placed it in a bowl, then used her chopsticks to pick up a piece, dip it in the sauce, and hold it out to Xue Yang. "Here, try it."
Xue Yang smiled slightly and bit into the meat from her chopsticks. It was perfectly tender and the flavor was delicious—even better than his own grilling.
Lin Xi watched him expectantly, her heart fluttering with a bit of nervousness.
"Not bad at all. It’s delicious."
Hearing Xue Yang’s words, Lin Xi sighed in relief. "I told you I could grill." The time she had spent learning to cook with Auntie Shen had clearly not been for nothing.
With that, Lin Xi picked up a few more pieces of meat and placed them on the grill.
Xue Yang started to help, but Lin Xi quickly stopped him. "Tonight, you don’t move. Let me handle it."
"..."
Why did that sound so awkward? 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Lin Xi seemed not to notice and continued to grill with intense focus. She was clearly enjoying the experience of feeding Xue Yang.
Throughout the entire meal, all Xue Yang had to do was eat. Lin Xi would grill everything for him and place it in his bowl. She herself barely ate anything. It wasn’t that she wasn’t hungry; rather, watching Xue Yang earnestly enjoy the meat she’d grilled filled her with a profound sense of satisfaction.
"Alright, don’t just focus on me. You should eat, too."
Lin Xi popped a piece into her mouth. "I am eating."
It was almost eleven o’clock by the time they left the supermarket. The number of pedestrians on the road had dwindled, casting a serene quiet over the streets.
Xue Yang carried the Dongfang Jade bag in his right hand and held Lin Xi’s hand with his left as they walked along the sidewalk. Having reunited after so long, every moment was precious to them. With every step Xue Yang took, Lin Xi would playfully match her own to his, completely lost in their little game.
Seeing his little Xiao Naimao having so much fun, Xue Yang couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. The occasional passerby couldn’t help but turn back and flash an indulgent smile. Happiness, it turned out, was truly contagious.
They arrived home just after twelve o’clock, and Xue Yang set the bag down. The two of them sat on the sofa, still finding it hard to separate. After sitting for a moment, Lin Xi urged Xue Yang to go shower first.
As soon as Xue Yang entered the bathroom, Lin Xi hurriedly pulled out her phone and sent Si Wen a message.
"Si Wen, are you asleep?"
Si Wen replied quickly, "What’s up? Aren’t you with Xue Yang? How do you have time to text me?"
"It’s because I’m with Xue Yang that I have to text you."
"?"
Soaking in the bath, a large question mark popped into Si Wen’s head. What kind of logic is that?
"Si Wen, help!"
"?"
But Si Wen quickly figured it out. "Don’t tell me you’re planning on ’eating’ Xue Yang tonight?"
Lin Xi had previously planned to "devour" Xue Yang the moment her exam results came out. And today was the day the college entrance examination results were released—or rather, it was already the next day.
"..."
At the sight of the word "eating," Lin Xi’s face flushed as brilliantly as a sunset, making her indescribably beautiful.
If Xue Yang were here right now, he probably wouldn’t be able to control himself. Thank goodness he isn’t here, or he’d definitely get suspicious. Si Wen’s descriptions are just too explicit.
"Just pounce on him."
"How do I pounce?"
"Just throw yourself at him, then strip off his clothes..."
"..."
While chatting with Si Wen, Lin Xi had to keep a surreptitious eye out for Xue Yang, terrified he might suddenly appear before her. If he saw her chat history with Si Wen, she would suffer a social death on the spot.
However, that’s just how the world works; what you fear most is exactly what happens.
"What are you doing?"
Xue Yang’s voice suddenly came from right above her.
Lin Xi jumped, her phone instinctively flying from her grasp. As fate would have it, it landed right in front of Xue Yang.
Xue Yang’s gaze wasn’t on the phone. He looked at Lin Xi and asked, "What’s wrong with you?"
What mischief has this Xiao Naimao gotten into while I was just taking a shower?
"N-nothing." Lin Xi scrambled to retrieve her phone.
"I’ve showered. Your turn."
"Oh... okay."
Lin Xi grabbed her pajamas, took a couple of steps, then turned back to snatch her phone before she finally felt safe enough to enter the bathroom.
Watching Lin Xi beat a hasty retreat, Xue Yang thought to himself, That girl is definitely hiding something from me.
Putting the thought aside, Xue Yang opened his laptop to start on his work. To make time for Lin Xi today, he had arranged all of his tasks in advance. However, a few unexpected emergencies still required him to work overtime.
Once the bathroom door was securely shut, Lin Xi patted her chest. "Si Wen, you have no idea! I was so scared just now. Xue Yang almost saw our chat history."
"Xiao Xi, let me tell you, we have to protect our chat history with our lives. If Xue Yang sees it, we’re both doomed. Especially me."
Given Xue Yang’s vengeful nature, he would definitely find a way to sabotage me if he found out I was teaching Lin Xi to do ’bad things.’ Although I no longer need mock exam papers, I’m sure Xue Yang would find other ways to get even with me. The thought alone terrified Si Wen.
She looked at their explicit chat history. Is it really okay for me to be teaching her this stuff? Oh, whatever. They’re already together, so what’s the big deal if they sleep together? Yes, that’s right.
"Don’t worry," Lin Xi typed back. "As long as our chat history stands, so will I."
"..."
Why did that sentence sound so ambiguous? Si Wen wondered. She continued to instruct Lin Xi in an area she herself was completely unfamiliar with.
Lin Xi read the messages as she slowly undressed. She had lost some weight recently from lack of sleep, which only seemed to make certain areas more prominent. It’s so unfair. The weight came off all the wrong places. The parts that were supposed to be slim didn’t change, while other areas thinned out drastically.
"By the way, did you prepare that thing?" Si Wen asked.
"Which thing?" Lin Xi stood before the mirror, puzzled by Si Wen’s question.
"You know, *that* thing. Didn’t I tell you about it before?"
Before? The memory made Lin Xi’s face turn another shade redder.
"Someone gave some to us before. I should be able to find them if I look."
Lin Xi remembered Xue Yang putting that thing in his bag. His bag was in the cabinet in the secondary bedroom. How am I going to find an excuse to go get it?
SPLASH...
The bathtub had overfilled. Lin Xi quickly turned off the faucet, then slipped into the water for a comfortable soak.
