Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love-Chapter 361 - 359 Xue Yang on a Date
Lin Xi looped her arm through Xue Yang’s. "Come on, let’s go shopping first and then get dinner. I’m in the mood for barbecue today."
With such a stunning beauty leading the way, what man could possibly resist?
By the time Xue Yang realized what was happening, they were already outside their residential complex. The area was close to the school and, naturally, to a supermarket as well. Yongsheng Supermarket was the largest one nearby. It catered not only to students but also to residents from the surrounding neighborhoods. Plus, with the many tourists who came to Yanbei from all over the country to tick it off their lists, the supermarket’s business was absolutely booming.
The walk from Tongfang Residential District took about twenty minutes. Well, twenty minutes at a slow pace. If Xue Yang were walking by himself, he could probably make it in ten.
It had been a long time since they had held hands and strolled down the street like this. The June night was a deep and mysterious work of art. The stars, like highlights on a canvas, added an infinite charm to its tranquility.
Twenty minutes later, they arrived at Yongsheng Supermarket. The moment they walked in, nearly all eyes were on them.
Although they hadn’t planned it, they were coincidentally both wearing plaid shirts. Xue Yang wore a black-and-white plaid shirt over a white tank top, paired with black casual pants and black sneakers. He looked bright and handsome.
The shoppers inside the supermarket instantly split into two factions. One was the men, whose gazes were filled with amazement as they looked at Lin Xi. The other faction was the women, who stared at Xue Yang with infatuated eyes, looking like they wanted to rush over for a photo and his contact info.
But after seeing who each of them was holding hands with, their hopes were crushed. Their partners were both so outstanding that it stifled any other ideas.
At the same time, they couldn’t help but wonder. Are these two new celebrities? But we haven’t seen any promotional material about them. And with looks like that, they can’t possibly be D-listers.
Cui Hao and Yu Kexin had gotten off work early and come to the supermarket for a hot pot dinner. They were just about to head back to school when they noticed the crowd’s reaction, which surprised them. They had been to Yongsheng Supermarket many times, but this was the first time they’d seen such a unified commotion.
"Yu Kexin, I think I just saw Boss Xue."
"You haven’t seen Boss Xue in a few days; are you hallucinating? Why would Boss Xue be at the supermarket at this hour?"
"No, look! Isn’t that him?"
Following the direction Cui Hao pointed, Yu Kexin saw Xue Yang and a girl entering a jewelry store.
"Whoa, it really is Boss Xue! And that girl... could that be his mysterious girlfriend? No wonder everyone’s making such a fuss."
Yu Kexin’s curiosity piqued. If a single photo of her was that beautiful, she must be even more stunning in person, right?
"Let’s go check it out."
"Go where? They’re on a date. Do you want to be a third wheel?"
"I’ll just take a quick peek, just one. I just want to see what Boss Xue’s girlfriend actually looks like in real life."
"I’d advise against it."
"Why?"
"What did you think when you saw her from behind just now?"
"..."
Yu Kexin fell silent. What did she think? Honestly, if she hadn’t noticed the girl’s silhouette first, she wouldn’t even have seen Xue Yang. And that silhouette... how to describe it? It represented a standard she could never hope to achieve in this lifetime. Or the next. Or even the one after that.
Cui Hao pulled Yu Kexin directly toward another exit.
When they reached the supermarket entrance, Yu Kexin shook his hand off. "Cui Hao, why are you so scared of running into Boss Xue’s girlfriend?"
Given Cui Hao’s personality, he would normally have charged forward boisterously, demanding that Boss Xue buy them dinner.
"Look, just trust me on this. It’s not a good thing for you to meet her."
Yu Kexin fell silent. Was she really that ominous?
...
Inside the jewelry store, the salesperson’s eyes lit up when she saw Xue Yang and Lin Xi walk in.
What a perfectly matched couple!
She had worked here for many years and seen all sorts of people—wives, mistresses, even popular celebrities—but this was the first time she’d seen a pair so attractive. Most importantly, she could sense the powerful chemistry of a couple deeply in love.
"Hello and welcome! What kind of jewelry can I help you find today?"
"Do you have any jade bracelets?"
"Yes, we do. This way, please." The salesperson gestured for them to follow.
"Why the sudden interest in buying jewelry?" Xue Yang asked curiously.
The matching couple’s bracelet on Lin Xi’s wrist was quite noticeable; although not expensive, it didn’t look out of place on her at all.
Lin Xi giggled. "It’s not for me."
"Who is it for then?"
Lin Xi smiled mysteriously. "I’m not telling you."
Xue Yang raised an eyebrow. Keeping secrets, are we? But since Lin Xi didn’t want to say, he didn’t press the matter.
"You wait over there. I’ll come find you after I’m done."
"I can’t watch?"
"Oh, just go." Lin Xi pushed him toward a row of benches by the door and guided him into a seat. Then, she followed the salesperson over to the bracelets.
Xue Yang shook his head helplessly. He turned and noticed another guy sitting nearby; apparently, his girlfriend had also deemed him a nuisance and shooed him away.
Do all women like to shop this way?
Xue Yang was happy for the peace and quiet. He took out his phone, opened WeChat, and started going through his messages. The first was from Tony. The text was a mix of Chinese and English, showing he was making a sincere effort to communicate with Xue Yang in Mandarin. The gist of it was that the renovations for the New Energy Vehicle Market were in their final stages. The cars were already in transit and expected to arrive in about half a month. The only thing left was the name, which hadn’t been decided yet, and he was asking for Xue Yang’s opinion.
Xue Yang replied that he would give it some thought.
Next was a message from Cui Hao that had just popped up. It contained only a few simple words: "What are you doing out? Shouldn’t you be at home?"
Looks like he saw me.
Xue Yang stood up and looked around, hoping to spot Cui Hao. Instead, he encountered an unexpected person.
Wang Doudou was walking toward him with his arm around a girl wearing heavy makeup. The latter clearly hadn’t expected to run into Xue Yang here. He paused for a second before scoffing, "Well, if it isn’t Chen Ying’s lapdog. What are you doing here? Don’t tell me you’re trying to buy her a gift? Even the cheapest bracelets from Dongfang Jade cost hundreds of thousands. Can you afford that?"
There it is, that familiar stench. Foul from the get-go.
Xue Yang sat back down on the bench, having no intention of dealing with him.
