Chapter 232: Chapter 230: Specialization in Technical Fields

Just the thought of having to part with Xue Yang again left Lin Xi feeling miserable. Why did two days have to pass so quickly? If only a day had 48 hours.

"In a couple of days, I’ll have to go back to school too," Lin Xi said.

"But after I go back this time, it’ll be a long while before we see each other again." To ensure she could get into Yanbei University, Lin Xi had to give it her all.

"Study hard. I’ll wait for you."

"Then you’re not allowed to get too close to other girls while I’m away."

"Alright."

「Around eight in the evening」

Dinner was served. As expected, it was a lavish feast. The table was filled with drunken goose, sand ginger stewed duck, salt-baked chicken, handmade grass carp fish ball soup, and sweet and sour carp, complemented by a plate of vibrant green vegetables. The barbecue area offered even more: charcoal-grilled eggplant, chives, roast duck, and chicken legs. It was completely different from the food in Yanbei, but everything looked, smelled, and tasted incredible. Just looking at it was enough to make one’s mouth water.

The farmhouse owner’s cooking skills didn’t disappoint Xue Yang.

Although their time here was short, the trip was packed. They had set off fireworks, picked strawberries by hand, watched fish being caught, and even witnessed the chickens and ducks being butchered—all leading up to this bountiful dinner. The activities seemed simple, but the process was anything but, and they had participated in everything.

For a group of young ladies who had never had to lift a finger in their lives, it was like stepping into an entirely different world.

Gathering together for a meal like this in the middle of winter felt wonderful.

After dinner, Lin Xi and Xue Yang walked hand in hand through the farmhouse grounds. Si Wen and the others tactfully left them alone. Besides, they were a bit tired themselves, so they went back to the house to rest.

"It would have been great to stay for a few more days. I don’t really want to leave," one of the girls said.

"Yeah, it’s not cold here, and there’s so much fun stuff to do. I don’t want to leave at all."

Si Wen slumped onto the sofa. "If you don’t want to leave, just do what Xiao Xi did. Find a local boyfriend and marry him."

"Easier said than done. Where would you even find one? Si Wen, do you know anyone?"

"If I knew someone, wouldn’t I keep him for myself?"

The other girls fell silent. That did make sense.

While they were chatting, Xue Yang returned, carrying Lin Xi in his arms.

Si Wen and the others immediately scattered, pretending to be busy with their own things. Only after the couple went upstairs did they gather again.

Having a boyfriend really is different. You don’t even have to walk on your own. Who wouldn’t be moved by that?

While Lin Xi was taking a shower, Xue Yang called Yu Kexin.

"Kexin, when are you heading back to school?"

"Boss, I’m already on the train."

"Hmm, call me when you get to the university. By the way, has Cui Hao said when he’s going back to school?"

"I think he has a flight tomorrow. What about you, Boss? When are you coming back?"

Without Xue Yang, Yu Kexin felt lost. Even if she went to the university and got to the studio, she wouldn’t know where to start. Some people are born leaders, but Yu Kexin was not one of them. She preferred to follow Xue Yang’s direction.

"Boss, have you figured out a way to retain our players?"

"I have a basic idea, but I need to get to the studio to work out the specifics. Kexin, those people you recruited before the New Year—they should all be able to start on time, right?"

"They should be able to."

Should?

Xue Yang was clearly not satisfied with that answer. Either they can or they can’t. There’s no ’should’ about it. Still, Kexin isn’t a professional in this area. The fact that she took the initiative to reach out and ask people if they wanted a job was already quite commendable. It looks like I’ll need to find a professional HR manager. After all, every field has its experts.
