Rejected and Claimed by her Alpha Triplets-Chapter 280 - will pass
280
~Lisa’s POV
Lira froze. The grinding stopped. For a moment, she didn’t say a word. Her calm face turned serious, almost unreadable. "Revenge?" she repeated quietly.
I nodded, feeling my heart pound. "Yes. I want revenge."
Her voice was calm but firm. "On who?"
I swallowed hard. My lips quivered as I spoke. "On everyone who hurt me. On Rowan. On Kael. On Belinda. On Fridolf." My eyes burned with tears. "They took everything from me. They made me feel worthless. I trusted them... and they threw me away like nothing."
Lira was quiet. She didn’t move or speak, and the silence stretched until I couldn’t bear it. I clenched my fists and continued, my voice shaking. "I tried to forgive, but every time I close my eyes, I see their faces. The way Rowan looked at me was like I was dirt. The way Kael mocked me. The way Belinda laughed when I was in pain. And Fridolf..." My voice cracked.
The tears finally fell. I wiped them roughly, but they kept coming. "I can’t just forget, Lira. I can’t."
Lira sighed softly, setting the herbs aside. She turned fully to face me. "So you want to become powerful just to destroy them?"
I looked at her, breathing heavily. "Yes. I want to hurt them like they hurt me. I want them to feel fear, guilt, regret, everything they made me feel."
Her eyes softened with sadness, and for a while, she said nothing. Then she asked quietly, "And when you do all that... will it bring you peace?"
I froze. The fire crackled between us, the flames reflecting in my tear-streaked face. "I...I don’t know," I admitted weakly.
Lira reached out, gently touching my hand. "Lisa," she said softly, "power born from pain always burns the one who holds it. Revenge feels sweet at first, but in the end, it leaves you empty."
I shook my head, fresh tears falling. "But I can’t just walk away. I can’t pretend it didn’t happen. I lost everything because of them, Lira. My baby." My voice broke completely. "I want them to pay. At least for my baby."
Lira’s expression softened instantly. She moved closer, wrapping her arms around me. I pressed my face into her shoulder, sobbing. My whole body shook as I cried, not just from anger, but from grief that had lived inside me for too long.
She stroked my hair gently. "Shh, my dear child. It’s alright. Let it out."
"I hate them," I whispered against her shoulder. "I hate them so much."
"I know," she said quietly. "And you have every right to feel that way. But don’t let hate be the thing that shapes you."
I pulled back slightly, looking at her through blurry eyes. "Then what do I do, Lira? Tell me. How do I live knowing they’re out there, happy, while I suffer?"
Her eyes were deep and calm, like the forest after rain. "You become stronger," she said. "Not for revenge. But for yourself. For the ones you’ve lost. For your child’s spirit."
I sniffed, wiping my tears. "But how do I do that?"
She smiled faintly. "By choosing peace instead of destruction. By mastering your gifts, not your grudges. When you are strong, truly strong, no one can ever hurt you again, not because you destroy them, but because you rise above them."
Her words sank deep, but they also hurt. "You don’t understand," I said bitterly. "They broke me. They made me weak."
Lira touched my chin gently, forcing me to meet her gaze. "You are not weak, Lisa. You survived. Weak people don’t survive what you went through. You are stronger than you think."
I swallowed hard, more tears threatening. "Then why does it still hurt so much?"
"Because you still care," she said softly. "And that’s not weakness, child. That’s what makes you human."
We sat there quietly for a while.
I looked down, clutching my knees. "I don’t know if I can forgive them."
"You don’t have to forgive them now," Lira said. "Healing takes time. But don’t let revenge guide your path. You are meant for more than pain."
I nodded weakly, the tears still falling. "But I swear, Lira," I whispered, "I’ll never let anyone hurt me like that again."
She brushed my cheek gently. "That’s the right promise to make. Not revenge, but self-protection." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Her words broke something in me. I cried again, this time quieter, and she held me close. I could feel her heartbeat, calm and steady, like a mother’s.
"I’ll help you grow," she whispered. "I’ll teach you everything I know. You’ll be strong, Lisa, stronger than all of them. But not for revenge. For your future."
I nodded slowly against her chest. "For my baby," I whispered.
"For your baby," she echoed softly, and she hugged me tighter.
I couldn’t stop crying. No matter how much I tried, the tears just wouldn’t stop coming. My chest ached, and my throat burned from sobbing so hard. Lira didn’t say a word; she just held me, letting me cry as much as I needed to.
Her arms were warm, steady, and for a moment, I felt like a child again. Like I was safe. Like someone finally understood. I clung to her, trembling as the sobs came out harder, my breath hitching in between.
"I just want it all to stop," I whispered brokenly. "I’m so tired, Lira. So tired."
"I know, child," she said softly, stroking my hair. "You’ve carried too much pain for too long. Let it go. Let it all out."
And I did. I cried until my eyes were swollen, until my voice came out small and cracked. I cried until there were no tears left, just dry sobs and the quiet comfort of her heartbeat against my cheek.
When I finally started to calm down, Lira wiped the last of my tears with her sleeve. Her eyes were gentle but firm, her tone low and soothing. "You’re strong, Lisa," she said. "Stronger than you know. But now, you must also learn to take care of yourself. Pain will pass, but your body needs strength too."
I sniffled, trying to smile through my tears. "You always talk like that, so calm and wise."
She chuckled softly. "It’s the herbs," she teased lightly. "They make me sound wiser than I am."
That actually made me laugh a little, the sound weak but real. Lira smiled at the small laugh and gently rubbed my shoulder.
"Come now," she said, getting to her feet. "We need to make dinner before it gets too dark. Crying may ease the heart, but it does nothing for an empty stomach."
As if on cue, my stomach grumbled loudly.
Lira raised an eyebrow, pretending to be shocked. "Ah, see? Even your stomach agrees with me!"
I blinked, then laughed again, this time more freely. "I guess it does," I said, wiping my face. "I didn’t even realize how hungry I was."
