REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 317: The Blood Essence
After Chianxu had left, silence returned to the corridor. Hueng Long stood alone for a long time before returning to his room again.
At the moment, he was sitting in a chair, his gaze lowered slightly, deep in thought.
"I cannot wait any longer..." he muttered to himself. "The Young Master must first understand his path before accepting the inheritance... That was our plan." His jaw tightened. "But now that all eight families know about him... obstacles will come endlessly."
His eyes darkened. "He may even die before he walks his true path."
A long breath escaped his lips. "No. I cannot let that happen."
His voice turned firm. "I must deliver the blood essence to him myself."
Without hesitation, Hueng stood up and then walked outside. He then headed toward the Grand Library.
It didn’t take him long to reach there.
The Grand Library was silent as always.
Hueng did not stop at the lower floors. He walked directly to the fifth floor, the highest floor.
This wasn’t just a place to store books but also a safekeeping for all five Spirit families.
He was walking straight to the last corner on the fifth floor,, but suddenly...
His eyes landed on something unexpected. He stopped.
A book!
Placed neatly on the center table.
His pupils narrowed. He walked toward the table and looked at it closely to make sure he didn’t make any mistakes.
"This book!" He picked up the book in his hand.
This book was the one Logan had been reading. The book about Seika Solwyn’s Life.
Hueng checked both sides and found he hadn’t made any mistakes.
"Was the Young Master reading this?" His brows furrowed. "But that is impossible..."
His voice dropped to a whisper. "This is a Memory Tomb. Without the owner’s resonance, no one can see what lies within."
His gaze sharpened. "Was he... just examining it?"
For a brief moment, something felt out of place.
But Hueng did not linger. He kept the book back on the table and then turned, walking toward the last corner of the fifth floor.
Within seconds, he stood before the wall at the end of the fifth floor. On the wall, there was a circular indentation.
Hueng reached into his robe and took out a pendant.
Without hesitation, he placed it into the gap.
Click!
The wall trembled slightly.
A rectangular stone panel slid backward, revealing a hidden passage.
Hueng stepped inside. The air grew heavy.
Ancient.
At the end of the passage stood a vault carved from dark stone.
He pricked his finger and then held it over the vault, letting drops of his blood fall onto the surface.
There was a formation protecting the vault so that even if someone could get inside the secret chamber, they wouldn’t be able to do anything with the vault.
The moment the drops of blood landed on the vault’s surface, the formation engraved upon it shimmered violently.
And then the invisible formation faded.
Once Hueng was sure that the formation had faded, he slowly opened the vault.
Inside...
A translucent jar rested in a protective cradle.
Within the jar, a faint crimson glow pulsed.
Even without looking at it, anyone could tell how valuable it was by the pressure it emitted. Not a gravity-like pressure, but an existence demanding complete obedience.
Blood Essence. Pure. Concentrated.
Ancient.
Hueng carefully took it out. The Jar.
And then he placed the jar into a spatial pouch. It vanished instantly.
Without wasting time, Hueng turned and left, heading back to the Long villa.
It did not take long for him to return.
Meanwhile, within the Long Villa’s main hall, elders and family heads were gathering rapidly.
Representatives from the other four Spirit Families arrived one after another.
The air was tense.
When Hueng entered, everyone except the family heads stood up to show respect.
Wei Zhong, the Family Head of the Zhong Family, spoke first. "What happened, Hueng? Why summon us so urgently?"
Hueng did not respond immediately.
Silence filled the hall.
Then...
"The Young Master..." His voice was calm.
"has been taken."
The hall froze.
"What?!"
Chairs shifted.
A heavy palm slammed against the table.
Feng Dao stood abruptly. "Who dares?! I will slaughter their entire bloodline!"
Shen Lian narrowed her eyes. "Who else could it be? One of the Evil Spirit Families."
"I believe so as well," Hueng replied calmly. "I won’t be surprised if it’s a combined effort."
He continued. "They sent four Martial Sovereigns."
The hall went silent again.
Han Rui inhaled sharply. "Four... Martial Sovereigns?"
Hueng nodded. "Yes. That is why the Young Master stood no chance."
If only they had witnessed the battle... They would have been speechless.
Wei Zhong rose. "What are we waiting for then? Let us head there immediately and retrieve the Young Master."
"Yes!" The others nodded in agreement.
But Hueng raised his hand. "Before we move..."
The hall quieted again.
"We originally decided to allow him to understand his purpose first... and then awaken the inheritance."
His gaze grew sharp. "But today proves something. Such incidents will not stop."
A heavy pause followed. " So I have decided to give him the Blood Essence now."
The elders exchanged looks.
Wei Zhong spoke after a moment. "That is reasonable. Did you bring it with you?"
Hueng nodded once. "Yes."
Wei Zhong exhaled. "Then there is nothing more to discuss."
His eyes turned cold. "Let us go."
Spirit Mountain had long been divided into two areas.
On one side...
The Five Spirit Families lived.
On the other...
The Three Evil Spirit Families.
For ages, neither side had crossed into the other’s territory.
An unspoken boundary. An ancient balance.
But today...
That balance was about to shatter. The Five Spirit Families headed forward together.
Their auras rising.
Their killing intent suppressed but undeniable.
And back at the area where the evil spirit families lived....
The air wasn’t light there as well. One after another, figures entered the Chong family.
Dark clouds hid the sky, a storm brewing, ready to be unleashed.
