Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master-Chapter 1508: The Aspire Academy’s Dilemma!
Fang didn't know what to say to that. He hated to watch other humans suffer simply because of the greed of the few in power. But when he realised how the world had ended up in this state thanks to these people, he hoped the masses would finally be wise enough to discern right from wrong.
The early wave of spreading the news to various places and regions came with a chaotic spectrum of responses. The first and most astonishing fact was the method the Fox Guild chose. They didn't spread the news by sending an official, polite delegation to the kings or academy heads.
Instead, they sent normal masters and even common citizens who had already reached one of the three safe sanctuaries. These people returned through the portals, sent messages to their kin, spreading the news of the new order like a grassroots fire. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
The leaders at the very top—the emperors, the high elders, and the headmasters—heard the news quite late! They were far too busy handling the immense danger of the Scarlet Bears and trying to stop the bleeding of their own masters, as people fled toward the Fox Guild's territory. When the word finally reached their ears, it was the most absurd news they had ever heard.
"The Fox Guild has lost their minds!"
"Do they think they can use our weakened moments to take away our control and rights by birth?!"
"Screw them! Deliver my orders, anyone trying to go to the portal will be killed right on the spot!"
The response from those high in power came exactly as Fang had feared—a mixture of incandescent rage, declarations of treason, and desperate attempts to hoard their remaining influence. But it was already too late for them to change the tide!
The first move the Fox Guild made by spreading the news among common people and normal masters proved to be a masterstroke of psychological warfare. It triggered an influx more massive than anything they had seen previously.
Driven by the twin engines of fear for their lives and the promise of a new, stable world, everyone who could reach a portal passed through, heading to join the Fox Guild or one of its two major affiliated forces.
The Aspire Academy was already in the midst of a transformation. Berry's and Sara's grandfathers had been tirelessly bringing everyone together to help the two girls manage the chaos.
Yet, when the news reached them, they realised the scale of the new regime William had decreed. They immediately pivoted, picking out the most capable masters from their master pool to handle the expected gush of people eager to join their academy.
The future was already blindingly clear to these old, seasoned men. They knew this change would bring an unprecedented flood of new masters, displaced clans, and scattered rogue masters seeking a banner to fight under.
Whether they joined as teaching masters, supporting clans, or students, the Aspire Academy was about to experience a growth spurt that would have taken millennia under normal circumstances.
It was, without doubt, a once-in-a-lifetime chance. But to make things right and avoid a logistical collapse, they had to pick a stable, grand base for their expanded academy.
"Ro's city won't do it," Berry was the first to object when Sara suggested the growing city in the Scorching Lands. "It's already the primary seat of the Lockheart Impact. Adding another big force there won't help the balance of power at all. It will just create friction in the streets and competition for resources."
"I won't say no to more power in my city," Ro chuckled, her eyes gleaming with ambition. She desperately wanted the academy to open its main base in her territory. If that happened, and under Panther's shrewd instructions and guidance, and with Lina's schemes and advice, it would ensure her city became the undeniable capital of the new world.
"Lara's city isn't a good choice either," Sara said, rolling her eyes as she crossed her arms. "Lara acted haughtily enough before when her city was the centre of the spotlight! Not to mention, she already has the secret underground portal and the hidden city. That's enough to prove her worth and keep her busy. If we go there, we'll just be in her shadow."
"That leaves us with the only choice being Anjie's new place," Berry sighed, her expression souring. "But I don't like Anjie that much. She is... A quite dangerous girl. She has that royal blood in her, and she knows how to play people like instruments."
"Why do we even need to move the base away from where we are currently located?" Sara's grandfather interjected, clearly not in favour of abandoning their ancestral grounds. "The academy has stood on its current site for many generations. We have a rich history there. We can continue to live there for much longer!"
"We lack many things there, grandpa," Sara sighed, her voice patient but firm. "The world has changed. We don't have a big city nearby to support our rise; we don't have the infrastructure to feed millions.
Most importantly, we don't have a gathering of portals linked to every major place in the world. We need these assets to ensure we ride the upcoming wave and stay at the top of the world when the apocalypse finally ends.
If we stay in our old, isolated valley, we'll become a relic of the past while the world moves on without us."
"I'm still saying my new city can support your academy," Ro repeated, rolling her eyes at the girls' hesitation.
"Going to Anjie is no better than going to Lara! Anjie has the remnants of her father's kingdom—top-tier masters and established military forces—by her side. Being there won't help the academy rise; it will only help her consolidate her own power using the academy's name!"
In a very rare moment, Ro's explosive and blunt words carried a core of sane, undeniable logic, all inspired by Panther's and Lina's guidance! The room fell silent as the weight of the political reality set in.
Then, someone else approached. Panther stepped out from the shadows; he knew better than anyone that this was an opportunity he couldn't let slip through Ro's hands. If the academy moved elsewhere, Ro's city would lose one of its most vital pillars.
