Reincarnation in the 60s: My Spatial Supermarket Brings Forth Wealth-Chapter 265: The Responsible Party
Lin Yun was furious today, Guo Meili kept bothering her. She didn’t like her, yet she had no self-awareness and insisted on causing trouble.
She kept avoiding Sun Bing, but not only was it useless, it made things worse.
Now her sisters were being hurt too. Although she usually had a weak personality and preferred to back down, today she didn’t want to avoid it anymore.
Does Guo Meili like Sun Bing? Well, she likes him too. If the person she likes confessed to her, why shouldn’t she agree?
"Yun’er, you said you agreed? Really?" Sun Bing asked, somewhat incredulously.
Because he thought Yun’er’s acceptance of his affection was just a fantasy of his, and he assumed Yun’er didn’t like him.
No matter the reason she agreed today, he knew he had to seize the chance and make her fall for him.
"Brother Sun Bing..." Guo Meili screamed hysterically, "Can’t you see? Lin Yun doesn’t like you! She only agreed to anger me!"
"I don’t care why Yun’er agreed to me now. If she doesn’t like me, I’ll work hard to make her fall for me!" Sun Bing didn’t want to be polite to Guo Meili anymore and spoke coldly.
Lin Yun stood by Guo Meili’s bed, looking down at her. Guo Meili was already on the verge of a breakdown, disregarding all her dignity.
"Brother Sun Bing, your mom said you’d marry me as her daughter-in-law. How can you betray me? How could you do this to me? Ah...
The noise in the ward attracted the doctor. Seeing Guo Meili so agitated, almost tearing her wound, the doctor quickly stepped in to calm her down, administering a sedative to put her to sleep.
"The patient needs to rest quietly. Do not provoke her anymore! It’s not good for her recovery!"
The doctor muttered a warning before leaving with the nurse.
In the ward, with Guo Meili asleep, Lin Yun returned to her own bed, while the other girls, although wincing from pain, understood what had happened.
Guo Meili caused trouble because of a man, how shameless can one be? They foolishly came here to fight for a box of snow cream.
And this man, if he liked her it would be one thing, but he didn’t even look at her properly, already having someone he likes. How can she be so shameless and cause trouble?
"Hey, juniors, we were also tricked by Guo Meili to fight you. We didn’t know it was over a man. If we knew, two boxes of snow cream wouldn’t have brought us here!" a girl with a broken arm said.
They were sophomores, in the same class as Guo Meili, so calling them juniors was fitting.
"Heh..." Lin Xue sneered, blaming them for their lack of brains, they deserved it for meddling and being greedy.
Guo Meili offered them a box of snow cream to buy their loyalty.
She thought Guo Meili had such good interpersonal relations, but it turns out everything was tied with benefits.
"Yeah! We didn’t really want to fight, we just followed Guo Meili to boost her morale. Didn’t expect you to hit us as soon as you came, defending ourselves after being hit!" another girl with a broken leg complained tearily.
"So? What’s your agenda with all this talk? Just spit it out!" Lin Xue interrupted them, urging them to cut to the chase.
"So, you should cover our medical expenses, right? We have no other intentions, just cover the medical and nutrition expenses, and we’ll let it go, tell the teacher it was just a little dispute, not getting you expelled!" the girl with the broken arm interjected quickly.
The rest nodded like pecking chickens, feeling they were letting them off instead of acknowledging their own mistakes. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"Ha..." Lin Xue couldn’t help but sneer again, "You’re letting us off? Are we supposed to thank you? Serve you for a while now?"
"No, no, you don’t need to serve us, just provide the nutrition allowance properly. With our fractures needing bone broth daily and fine grains for recovery, just pay more in cash tickets, nothing else!" the girl with the broken leg said.
It was just those two talking, everyone else silent, clearly representing the group. Guo Meili was sedated, so they kept making terms.
"You’re ridiculous! Bone broth? Where’s your shame?" Sun Qianqian fumed, glaring at the shameless pair, almost wanting to slap them.
"You have to compensate for fighting us! What’s funny about that? Surely you don’t expect us to compensate you? You’re not hurt! Besides, we’re showing leniency, not holding you accountable, just asking for some medical and nutrition fees, is that unreasonable?" being scolded by Sun Qianqian, they retorted, unyielding.
They weren’t afraid either; Guo Meili’s uncle was the town mayor, so these rural folks might just get booted eventually.
Speaking nicely got us scolded, so wait and see, they thought, justice will serve them.
"You started the mess, blocked the road with sticks, and struck first! All evidence is present! Teachers and classmates all saw! Even if we’re unscathed while breaking your arms and legs, it’s tough luck! Why should we compensate? We’ll tell you this seriously! By then, you, Guo Meili, plus you all ten, won’t just get expelled, you’ll compensate us for medical, nutritional, mental damages, and lost study time! That’s a hefty sum! Rather than negotiating, inform your families to gather funds, prep your bedrolls, and leave!" Lin Xue declared word for word.
"Nonsense, we got beaten, why should we compensate, it’s unjust!" the other side, visibly terrified, pale, rebuked.
If expelled, returning home meant getting married, their families not agreeing for girls to study much, due to decent grades they hoped for bright futures.
But now, beaten, expelled, facing compensations—a family scandal, a disgrace.
"Understand the term responsibility! It rests solely on you! Thus you owe! And it’s fair! Beaten was deserved! Skills lacking, blame none! Enough talk! The hospital air isn’t great! We’re going home to recuperate! Remember, however many days we rest, that’s how much you’ll owe us!" Lin Xue stood up, "Let’s go!"
"Big sister... Yun’er is still recovering..." Sun Bing called, his face instantly turning crimson.
As the newly upgraded brother-in-law, he spontaneously called her big sister, unsure if she’d acknowledge, couldn’t help but blush.
