Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?-Chapter 378
378 Reaching The End Of The Maze
ββ
Aquarina gathered the power of Ice Attribute within her Spirit, as she unleashed a storm of icy winds that immediately started to freeze the body of the Mimic! The ice quickly spread over the monsterβs body, leaving it completely trapped into a large ice cube.
βOh, we did it?β Asked Zack in surprise. βThat was amazing-β
Crack... crack...!
CRASH! ππ«π²πο½πππ£π¨π«π¦πΉ.c૦m
However, to our unluckiness, the Mimic freed itself and, while barely having energies, it leaped towards Aquarina furiously and vengefully. The monster barely had any stamina by now after getting hit so much yet it clung to life just so it could devour its first target.
βIgnatius!β I roared, infusing my Mana into Ignatius as he suddenly exploded with bright red light. As if a small sun had emerged here.
βGot it!!!β
Ignatius quickly used [Roll] and flew at an incredible speed towards the Mimic, clashing against the monster with all his force. The enormous hit made the beastβs shell crack at long last, breaking into pieces and exposing the red and soft flesh inside.
.....
βFiery Breath!!!β
FLUOOOSH!
And right after that, Ignatius finished it off with an explosive fiery breath coming from his [Baby Dragonβs Breath] Skill, engulfing the entire monster into an inferno of fire it could not run away from any longer.
βGRYYYEEEHHH...!β
Giving its last pitiful groan of agony, the Mimic slowly tried to run away, but ultimately perished over the floor, until it ended being burnt to a crisp.
βWell, we did it...β I sighed.
βYour Spirit is awesome, Sylphy! I never thought that egg thingy would be that strong.β Said Aquarina. βLittle Leviathan still got a long way to go to compare to him... Phew, that was more challenging than I thought a real Mimic Monster would be like.β
βYeah, was that thing Rank 3?β Asked Zack.
βNo, that was a rare Rank 4 Mimic. That thing would had been able to easily eat even strong adventurers... This is why I told you to be careful!β My father sighed.
βWeβll be...β Aquarina sighed apologetically.
βFather, why didnβt you helped us when Aquarina was almost eaten?β I asked.
βAlmost eaten? She was saved by Pyuku. Donβt worry. If something that might truly be lethal happens, I will act, Sylphy. Just as I promised your mother. I can move faster than you imagine, you know?β My father said while petting my head. βTrust your father and concentrate in your task now. This is also like my test to you three as well, so take it more seriously.β
βA test?β I wondered. πreπ¦ππ²π£π―π°Ξ½β―π.cπΌο½
Ding!
[You earned 2500 EXP]
[Ignatius] earned 3500 EXP]
Ah, the EXP. I guess I didnβt checked it before... 3500 EXP for Ignatius, huh? And he has yet to level up to Level 5. Is the EXP needed 4000? Ah, yes it is. He needs just a few hundred more I suppose.
βYeah, a test.β My father answered my question, as I quickly looked back at him. βIt is similar to the dungeon diving we did with the other heroes back then, so take it as training and more. In the future youβll even explore more dungeons than this one. You have to be prepared for the things that might happen there. Gaining experience is crucial.β
βI see, youβre quite thoughtful, father. More than I had actually imagined.β I admitted.
βMore than you imagined?! Y-You take your father for a fool or something?β He sighed.
βHahaha, of course not!β I said.
After my father stored the Mimicβs remains away, we decided to move forward once more. This time, Pyuku decided to guide us. He had some special type of extra sensorial sense that Slimes have, which help them move and not bump into things despite being blind. Because of this, he was able to easily locate where the maze continued. Although various times we got into dead ends anyways, he still led us to the end after thirty minutes.
We didnβt find any other monsters or anything else, but Pyuku proved his worth as a slimy companion quite well once more.
βPyuku thanks for helping us out!β Said Aquarina.
βAmazing, that was faster than I thought. I swear I had imagined we would stay here for hours.β Zack sighed.
βYeah, youβre a good boy. Here, have more meat.β I said, giving him a piece of dried meat.
βPyuuu!β Pyuku enjoyed the meat. Zack and Aquarina also gave him little snacks as compensation for his help.
Meanwhile, my father was looking at us with cross arms and while raising an eyebrow.
βI never thought a tamed Slime would help at getting out of mazes, thatβs new...β Said my father. βThe actual solution was using Zackβs affinity with the Wind Element. You should had simply followed where he felt the wind was flowing through. That way youβll easily find the exit.β My father seemed to make it as if this was way easier than we made it up to be.
βEh?! That easy?β Zack asked. βMaybe I should have done that now that you mentioned that, uncle...β
βWait, so we didnβt even need Pyukuβs help?β Aquarina asked.
βCertainly, Pyuku helped and let you find the exit even faster. If it was on Zack, he would had taken way longer trying to identify how the wind worked and you would had ended finding more dead ends than anything at the end.β My father said while shrugging.
βWait, what?β Asked Zack. βDamn you got little trust on me...β
βHahaha, well, now that things are resolved, papa, you said we had to take a break?β I asked.
βAh yes, letβs stay here and not go down yet. Letβs cook something quick to fill our bellies. It has been over two hours since we entered after all, are you not hungry?β My father said.
βYeah I am quite hungry for a little snack more than just dried meat.β I admitted.
βThen letβs cook Walking Fish!β My father said, quickly taking out two Walking Fishes and putting a bonfire with magic. βTheyβre actually super tasty, I remember devouring these in our dungeon explorations. It was always a delight to find them.β
