Reincarnated To Evolve My Bee Empire-Chapter 148: Out of stings
’What a way to die—squashed like a bug… But I’m *not* a bug!’
As I thought this, I was still desperately trying to get away from the falling shoe.
Over the swishing of wind in my ears and buzzing of my wings, I almost didn’t hear the shouts that came from above.
"Attack!"
"ATTACK! FOR FATHER!"
"STING UNTIL THEY BLEED!"

A moment later, a sharp cry of the young Jit followed. His descending leg jerked rapidly and changed trajectory, moving back up.
As I flew farther away and up, I saw him waving his arms erratically as he struggled to keep balance. A moment later, with another cry of pain, the green giant fell to the ground. Earth trembled, trees shook, and all the giants were shouting in alarm.
All this time, Jit’s health was depleting until it stopped at 〔76/95〕.
A moment later, bees began flying out from the ends of Jit’s pants. All of them were missing their stingers, and their stamina was low, but otherwise, they were healthy.
Eleven Beemarines, eleven stings. They dealt 13 damage total. A huge amount considering the size of their target—on someone bee sized that would probably be 200 damage!—but far from lethal.
Still exactly 4,5 times (100%+350%) larger than an approximate base sting damage. Only around 80 Beemarine stings would be necessary to kill a human, then—but I didn’t have that many of them! My own venom won’t be much help, either.
Malevolence’s team flew toward me; my scattered bodyguards, including Destroyer, began gathering near me again, too.
"We brought the beast down, Father! Now, should we attack? How many blows will it take to kill it?" Malevolence asked. Her eagerness was palpable despite her outward stoicism.
I looked around over the tops of trees battered by giant legs and quickly accessed the situation.
On the ground, the teen giant was shouting and clutching his leg, while tears streamed down his eyes—each large enough to fill several buckets.
Even without knowledge of this language, I was sure that half of the words were ones you didn’t speak in front of ladies.
The middle-aged Vit already moved to Jit’s side and began checking his leg, but the oldest, Rath, stayed vigilant.
He picked Jit’s stone pillar and was looking around, squinting. I felt that this man could be the biggest threat in the future—for example, if he told his companions to retreat.
Then humans would just return later, bring better protection and more people, and we will stand no chance.
I could also see that my Commandos had reached Camp Rich. A swarm of bees was gathering near its entrance, preparing for an attack—but slowly, too slowly. Fire and smoke weakened them a lot.
They were going to be of no help for a moment. Even if they were fully healthy, I’d think thrice before letting them help. Unlike with my group, each sting was going to be the last one for them. And I already lost too many of my girls today.
"Destroyer, are you up for more fighting?"
Her health was 〔17/24〕 and her left cheek was one large bruise, but Destroyer’s salute was as sharp as ever.
"I will wash the shame of putting you in danger with the blood of your enemies, Father."
I chuckled.
"Well, these ones have a lot of blood for washing, so you are in luck! See, the giant ahead is distracted. Fly to him with your squad and sting him until he falls, too!"
I gestured at Vit, who had rolled up Jit’s leg and was examining the stings left by Beemarines. He definitely won’t notice approaching bees—Jit’s wails would hide even the buzzing of their wings. Jit was out of commission for now, too, although probably not for too long.
"Yes, Father!" Destroyer turned to Malevolence. "Then you will be the one guarding Father. Don’t fail!"
She and her squad flew toward her target, keeping close to the ground to hide under the trees.
But Rath was watching, and he would definitely warn his companions if he heard Destroyer close. Or, if he saw that two of his companions were down, he could even run away.
Neither were acceptable.
I turned to Malevolence.
"Girls, you will help me corral the third giant. Surround him on all sides so I could approach him safely!"
"Understood, Father!"
’They didn’t protest even a little about leaving me on my own... What a difference compared to Destroyer’s team.’ I thought wryly. ’Good things that bodyguards would be useless right now, anyway.’ Discover more content at novelbuddy
"Then attack!"
I charged right ahead, clutching my special golden spear in my hands. Unlike Destroyer, I wasn’t hiding.
Rath noticed us and shouted something, waving at us with the stone pillar.
It was longer and moved much faster than the jacket, but thankfully, was only 6 meters wide—easy to dodge.
Then, Malevolence and her Beemarines separated from me, moving to surround Rath.
He took a step back and shouted some more, waving at us wildly, and I really wished I knew this language. Now Vit raised his head to Rath.
The giants’ bug-like faces with their horizontal jaws were too strange to understand their expressions. However, I was almost sure that his voice was concerned.
Then Vit was crying out in pain, too. Destroyer got to him!
And I was face to face with the last human, flying only 15 meters away from his head and relying on my risky plan B to bring him down. At least, the man was too distracted by 11 other bees flying circles around to notice me.
Just as I thought this, Rath spun his head toward me, and I saw my reflection in the eye that could’ve served as a full-height mirror.
This was my best opportunity to attack!
〔Electrical charge〕: 100%
I flew right at the enormous eye, pointing my spear forward.
From its tip, a golden leather-wrapped wire was leading under the collar of my armor. The wire was just long enough to not interfere with my movements.
In a fraction of a second, a chitinous eyelid fell over the massive eye, covering it—but I didn’t slow down.
My spear struck the chitin, and the soft golden tip bent.
I released the electrical charge.
