"Another student entered the dungeon."

"He is one of the current top rankers, Raylin Bloodborne. Focus a bit on him. Make sure he doesn't use his bracelet."

Yami nodded indifferently to Butto as he focused on the screen in front of him.

He and a few other observers were in an invisible room in the dungeon, focusing on hovering screens that showed every student inside the dungeon.

The number of students wasn't that much to begin with, so it wasn't hard to track them all.

The dungeon was simple.

It was a dungeon made of crystals. From the ground to the trees and even the sky, everything was crystallized.

Every student would appear in a random place at the edge of the dungeon, where the weakest monsters were located. The further they went toward the centre, the stronger the monsters they'd encounter.

'There is also that boss.'

Other than a few bosses here and there, the one in the middle of the dungeon was the most troublesome of them all.

Yami could easily defeat it, but he didn't think that any of the students would manage to harm it.

'That's not my problem anyway.'

Yami took out the donut box that Raylin had given to him from his storage.

Simultaneously, he sent a few abyssal souls to watch over the students for emergencies and kept one of them to feed him.

The abyssal souls flew out of the invisible area and separated into different directions before becoming invisible, while the one he kept transformed into a humanoid form and carried the donut box.

She was a green-haired beautiful woman with green eyes and pale skin. Carrying the box, she fell to her knees submissively and started feeding him one by one.

If someone had a good memory, they would recognise her as the boss that Yami had fought in the land of challenges — the Duchess!

Unconsciously, some of the teachers glanced at him with a hint of envy.

That was a skill he had developed in the past years after visiting the abyss a few times.

He could alter the souls he captured and turn them into abyssal souls which would serve him unconditionally.

And how many souls did he have?

A lot!

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say Yami was the strongest being under Tier-6. He was technically a one-man army.

In this room, only Butto, who was already Tier-6, could defeat Yami.

'Hmm? What's he… doing?'

Yami focused more on the screen, seeing Raylin send his raven away, save a student from a crystal wolf, and then team up with him.

"T-thank you."

"No need to thank me. We can survive until the end together."

As Raylin talked kindly with the students, Yami looked at him with suspicion.

'Maybe he wants to use him as bait or a meat shield.'

After interacting with Raylin for 2 months, he knew that Raylin wasn't too 'kind'.

He wasn't really evil, but in a small test he wouldn't team up with any strangers.

His theory was that Raylin wanted to use the poor student for emergencies. Maybe to test a monster or leave him behind if another student attacked.

'He is a Tier-4 Exalted now, but Arthur and Limitless were on this tier for longer than him.'

But as he continued observing him, even the other teachers looked at him with suspicion.

"He has just saved another student."

"He even let them take his kills…"

Their job wasn't only to observe the students for their safety, but also to judge their skills and actions.

But currently, they couldn't understand Raylin's intent.

And the raven he had sent away was what confused them more. It flew past all the crystal monsters at high speed without stopping for even a brief moment. Was it searching for bosses?

Seeing everyone in a daze, Butto clapped: "Don't focus solely on him, there are other students here."

"Oh, yes sir."

"Three other rankers have just entered, and the student Zephyr is killing everything in his sight. We have to focus on them too."

Yami nodded indifferently and focused on the other screens and his ghosts' vision at the same time.

'We will know eventually, anyway.'

•••

"Maybe the rumours were wrong…"

"Yeah, maybe he goes crazy only in friendly spars."

The two students I saved, one man and one girl, whispered behind my back, thinking that I wouldn't hear them with this tone.

'Hehe, what can I say? My senses are just superior.'

I ignored their whispers and continued running. Why would I stop them from praising me?

Suddenly, I noticed a monster. I stopped running and raised a hand, causing the students behind me to stop as well.

"Sir Raylin, is there another monster?"

I nodded to him and summoned BlackHail before drawing a normal gravity arrow.

Releasing the string, the arrow flew at insane speed before piercing the centre of a living crystal tree.

It was easy to see if these things were alive by using my spatial awareness.

And although all monsters here had an advantage against my lightning affinity, I still had wind that was a little balanced and the gravity that could crush the crystal monsters.

"It's near death now. Put your hands on my shoulder." I said as the two students behind me obeyed excitedly.

Instantly, I teleported them to the half-dead monster, leaving them to decide who would take that kill.

'Nothing yet?'

[Nothing yet.]

I sighed helplessly as I continued moving.

I had to find my friends quickly. Zephyr had entered the dungeon before I did, so I was sure he was here somewhere.

Finding another student far away, I rushed to talk with her to invite her to my team.

[I don't think she has a choice. You are one of the three strongest students.]

'You don't have to focus on these small details, you know. Besides, it's for her own good!'

If all the people with future knowledge were as kind as I was, the world would have been a better place.

Truly, what a shame.
