Reincarnated in the Royal Family with a Plunder System-Chapter 47: An unforeseen situation
Chapter 47: An unforeseen situation
In the capital city of the Human Kingdom.
"The King has returned!"
A chorus of cheers erupted as a blaring trumpet split the air. Streets flooded with people. Banners unfurled. Horses marched in gleaming formation. And at the front—a herald shouted the impossible.
"Victorious! Again!"
Then silence. As if the world held its breath.
From empty space above the crowd, a small golden crown materialized—shing!—spinning once in the air.
And then—he appeared.
A tall man emerged under the floating crown.
His long golden hair cascaded like a divine banner. His grim, youthful face was marred by the weight of countless wars. Hands behind his back, he didn’t spare a glance at the crowd.
He vanished.
The wind from his motion hit the audience a second later.
Throne Room—
He appeared before the royal seat. One moment gone, the next—there.
BOOM!
His fist slammed into the armrest of the throne. Cracks webbed through the marble.
"Where are the ministers?" he asked coldly.
Pop—pop—pop—
Tens of figures materialized in a flash, each one bowing low into their seat.
His grey eyes scanned the room like daggers. "I do not see Eleanor and Lysandra."
A minister stepped forward. "Your Majesty, they had a... personal feud. They’re outside the palace."
"Personal feud?" The King spat the words.
"Lady Lysandra’s son—he was kidnapped."
"Enough. I do not have time for family squabbles."
He stood tall. His voice thundered through the chamber.
"The Giant Races have colluded with the Hate Jokers. The Great Wilderness stirs. We are surrounded by enemies."
He turned his back to the ministers, already walking away.
"Prepare for all-out war."

Lysandra and Seraphina jumped from one tree to the other, their figures blurring through a forest far outside the capital city.
Trees whipped past in streaks of green and brown, the canopy a blur overhead. Seraphina’s breath came in short bursts, her legs burning, her mother always just out of reach like a memory she couldn’t quite hold.
"Mother, I can no longer keep up with you...!" Seraphina said through gritted teeth. "Go faster. Leave me behind."
Lysandra stopped on top of a large branch.
Her figure hung upside down from the tree, hair loosely falling down.
"Ryan and you have a strikingly similar aura, it is easier to find him with you around."
Seraphina breathed in deeply, hating her own weaknesses.
Lysandra looked far into the distance, her gaze tearing through the small forest into a bugger wilderness.
"My perception has covered this entire forest," she said. "He is nowhere here. Eleanor left this region as well."
Seraphina paled. "Then did Eleanor enter the Great Wilderness?"
"She probably did."
"What IS her goal, mom? Would she hurt Ryan..."
Lysandra’s face became complicated. "I... don’t know. But whatever her goal is, I am not feeling good about it. The Great Wilderness is close now, but I have this weird feeling that something is amiss."
"Amiss?"
"I don’t know what is going on, but something is definitely amiss. The animals are too quiet, even though it’s not even close to winter."
Seraphina became even more anxious. "Why would that bitch take him to the Great Wilderness?"
That was what Lysandra could not understand either. But she could think of one possibility—did Eleanor want to give Ryan his soul back?
Eleanor did have half of Ryan’s soul.
No, she wouldn’t be doing such a thing all the way here. She is strong, but there are creatures much stronger and more dangerous than her in the Wilderness.
Not to mention, Lysandra did not believe that Eleanor would be willing to help Ryan at this point.
On the other hand, Seraphina had a bold suspicion. She had often spent time in Ryan’s arms while learning math, holding him close—and although he had tried to keep the complications between their mother and Eleanor buried deep in his memory, she had come to understand it all, more or less.
After all, the bond she shared with her brother was far too deep for secrets to stay hidden for long.
Thus, she had some inkling of understanding that Ryan’s relationship with Eleanor was not so simple.
Not to mention so many memories in his mind about kissing Eleanor.
Seraphina had a bold but unamusing thought.
Did Ryan reveal his Plunder Sucker abilities to Eleanor?
Then, Eleanor had a good motive for bringing him to the Great Wilderness.
Does she want to Tame Ryan using her Beast Tamer abilities?
In the end, elite Beast Tamers could use their abilities on humans as well. And Seraphina did not think for a second that Eleanor would not do that.
A Plunder Sucker was far too good a catch.
Ryan was the best thing to Tame!
She did not even think about Eleanor just wanting to buy slaves to help Ryan plunder more skills. Even if she knew that was what Eleanor was doing at the moment, Seraphina still would not believe Eleanor did not have ulterior motives.
Ryan might be in great danger. With how gullible my brother is, he might not even see through Eleanor’s pretty face.
Not to mention whatever was ’amiss’ with the Great Wilderness.
They hadn’t even entered the Great Wilderness and things were already amiss, then what about the situation inside?
Seraphina’s expression hardened.
She became very... afraid.
Lysandra saw the changing expressions on her daughter’s face and had a bad premonition herself.
"Are you hiding something from me, Sera?"
Seraphina was just about to talk when Lysandra turned abruptly, looking towards the capital.
A bird snapped through the air into Lysandra’s hand.
"A messenger bird?" Seraphina said in surprise. "Did Ryan return to the palace?"
Lysandra crushed the bird into a pulp, making a letter bathed in blood fall out of the bird’s innards. Immediately after, she healed the creature back to life.
Then, she focused on the letter.
Her heart skipped a beat.
The human kingdom was entering a war with the Great Wilderness.
Why now?
Are the Giant races not afraid of the Shard of Infinity in the King’s hand?
Lysandra looked up, significantly more worried than before.
No wonder the forests were so wrong, the monster kings must have been preparing for this war. Maybe even Eleanor herself—who was a master manipulator that predicted everything—should not have seen this coming.
Knowing Eleanor, she probably came here to meet that old lady Yemba or that old giant Yustass.
That was Eleanor’s strongest links into the Wilderness.
But if she went to meet them now, she would be running directly into a trap made to kill her.
She herself would probably be used as hostage, but they would not spare Ryan!
Lysandra paled.
Ryan was in mortal danger.
No, no, no.
...
Meanwhile, Ryan grumpily stared at the giant Yustass. The guy seemed the jolly, easy going type. But Ryan did not have a good impression of the dude.
After all, he had tried to humiliate him in their first meeting.
"A mere 1,000 slaves are nothing, Yustass. I knew you wouldn’t care about my life saving grace in the past. Tell me, what do you want in return?"
Eleanor asked calmly.
Yustass’ eyes glowed strangely. "What I want in return?" He smiled. "I just want..."
Eleanor’s heart suddenly skipped a beat. Her pupils shrank to pin sizes. "No, something is wrong!"
"Too late!"
BOOOOOOM.
The sky shattered like glass.
Sound itself broke. Metal screamed. Trees were ripped from their roots and thrown into the sky.
Ryan could only gasp as his world was reduced to obliteration.
The entire forest was gone.
But somehow, he stood unharmed.
Around him—a shadowy creature wrapped tight, blocking every force like an unbreakable shield.
He was still sweating. Still shaking. Still alive.
"Elean—"
From beyond the clouds, her voice echoed like a divine command:
"Shadow, run."
The bird of shadow moved. The wind couldn’t keep up.
But then—
A voice in his ear.
"Not so easily..."
It was cold. Amused. Terrifying.
The shadow halted. Frozen midair.
Now the shadowy creature that was protecting Ryan was completely visible. It was a bird made of pure shadow. Yet, it had been stopped in mid air with some sort of intangible force.
Ryan instinctively used his own skills, but not a single one of them made a difference.
He was like an ant caught in a storm.
"Your enemy is me, Hate Joker scum!" Eleanor’s voice became power. Deadly strength.
The intangible force around the shadow bird was crushed into nothingness.
A faint chuckle echoed through the world. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
"Even if your boy escapes this area, he won’t survive the Great Wilderness. What can a simple Shadow Bird do? It’s already vanishing."
Eleanor did not speak.
Even though she remained silent, a giant eastern dragon appeared in the air, breaking through the clouds and roaring at the top of its lungs.
Eleanor sat on its forehead, a pair of horns having grown on her forehead.
"Yustass, are you really going to help these scum?"
"Hate Jokers are far too strong to reject, Miss Eleanor."
"I should have known you were this type of scum when I saved you."
Eleanor took a deep breaty.
She could see a clown shaped object flickering inconspicuously around the area.
A Hate Joker.
A chaotic Class of supernatural individuals who turns hatred into power. They were a unique type of being, a species of its own in a way. The more people despise them, the stronger they become. But the more they are loved, the weaker they become as well.
They thrive on misery, mischief, and malice.
And they were a much stronger race than the humans.
Hate Jokers are said to be incredibly strong fighters individually, can I survive?
I have to let Ryan escape first.
The shadow bird moved again—faster than sound, tearing a hole through the air. Nobody tried to stop it this time, after all—Ryan was inconsequential.
And in that moment, Ryan realized:
He was in the middle of a fucking situation.
