Chapter 66: We Will Destroy The Dungeon

The Lestor village was being expanded, the builders were separating some spaces and building houses, Darius planned to enlarge the village to show that they were developing.

He had to delegate some tasks to a few clones, which he managed to increase in number. Even though his mana wasn’t growing much, he was increasing his magic level, so he was spending less mana.

This level works differently for each spell, as it takes into account the number of times a spell has been used, the more a person uses a spell, the less mana they spend.

Levels measure general skill, the skill for each spell is called aptitude, and there is a maximum for this, which is the expenditure of just 1 mana point. But for spells where the mana expenditure is high, one rarely achieves aptitude.

Twenty more houses were being built. Darius preferred families to occupy them, but it was easier to find single people living on the streets.

Gradually, the capital had fewer people living on the streets and more people living in the village.

The day before the tournament started, Darius was observing the construction.

"I have very bad news, the King wants the adventurers who are in the Capital to be sent to the forest."

"Does that include our employees?"

"Yes, but he’ll summon them after the tournament. That’s why I think we should put an end to the problem right away and prevent him from issuing a forced summons."

The summons that the King issued only asked for help and offered a price in return, it was like a mission with a reward. The forced summoning forced adventurers to carry out a certain mission, which was a bad thing, as many adventurers incapable of carrying out the mission were summoned.

Darius had five S-rank adventurers, which was more than double the number of adventurers the Guild could hire.

"Let’s get this over with, I don’t want the King giving crazy orders."

Kaly used teleportation magic and then used his invisible wings to fly, Darius could also make wings appear, he could also make wings invisible. That’s why anyone who saw them thought they were using flight magic, which was difficult to learn.

Kaly managed to find the structure and they went there. Several monsters were around, it was as if the structure somehow attracted the monsters.

The structure was a tower with several windows and doors, there were stairs inside, but nothing different that caught the eye.

"This is a dungeon, it’s attracting monsters by its core, which is a mana crystal."

Kaly cast several spells and destroyed part of the tower, but gradually it was rebuilt. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

She climbed down and used protection magic, she was using a shield of magic, and no monster could break it, because the shield was very resistant and was maintained by the mana Kaly had, which was absurdly large.

Kaly entered the tower and tried to break the floor, she succeeded, but the floor was quickly rebuilt.

Darius climbed down and created a similar shield.

"We need to break the floor and jump," she said as she was breaking the floor and quickly Darius jumped.

They were in a place with thick brick walls. The place was damp and smelled musty. Kaly started walking, she knew the direction she had to go because she was checking the mana of the place, she could tell where the mana was coming from.

On the way she killed the monsters that appeared and the edibles she took, the crystals that were on the wall were collected by clones that she and Darius had created.

Metals and crystals were found in dungeons and caves, the difference being that they were always renewed in dungeons.

They had already descended five floors and were still far from the core, there’s no way to break through the floor of a dungeon, so they were going down the stairs, which were in random places on the floor.

Each floor was more difficult than the last, as they had stronger monsters and were bigger. But for Kaly these monsters were nothing, she could spend a whole day fighting them and she wouldn’t lose.

She has a lot of mana and a lot of physical stamina, so she was almost invincible.

When they reached the top floor, they looked for the core room, which was a white room full of lights and a large sphere in the center. The sphere was white and levitating. At the bottom was a circle with some symbols on it.

"It’s an artificial dungeon, this symbol proves it."

"Like the one you made?"

"No, I just recreated some conditions, this circle concentrates mana and with that the crystals appear and little by little a dungeon is created. This structure was designed, it didn’t come about through the natural accumulation of mana."

Kaly removed the crystal and used earth and water magic to destroy the design of the circle.

She used teleportation magic and managed to get out of the dungeon. Little by little, the dungeon was losing its energy and the monsters were moving away. But Kaly wanted to take advantage and ended up killing several, only the edible ones.

Then she used fire magic and destroyed the tower, which was not rebuilt this time.

They returned to the mansion and Kaly used some pieces of paper with some symbols on them.

"What are you doing?"

"Just sealing it, that way we won’t have any problems with monsters or anything like that," she said as she used magic to make the paper stick to the sphere.

The adventurers and the soldiers of the Kingdom were speechless at the sight of the destroyed structure. Elara didn’t know what to do, since Kael had summoned the adventurers, the responsibility for the mission was the King’s and not hers.

All the adventurers began to complain and demand payment, as they hadn’t returned to their city to carry out the mission. Including adventurers from other countries, Kael was under pressure and if he didn’t pay, his image would be tarnished. He could be known as the King who doesn’t pay his adventurers, or something worse. That’s why he eventually accepted and decided to make the payment, even though they hadn’t carried out the mission.

But it was Kael’s fault, he had only summoned them to go and help the royal soldiers. They went to help, so the mission was completed, since they didn’t specify what the help would look like.

"Do you have any idea what happened?"

"No, it could have been a strong group or just the monsters who revolted and decided to destroy the structure," she lied.

Elara knew that it could have been done by Kaly and the other strong adventurers she and Darius had at their disposal. So it wouldn’t be hard to think that Kaly had something to do with it. But she couldn’t talk, as it would worsen the view Kael was building of Kaly and Darius.

The problem in the Capital had been solved, but in the other cities it continued, several Guilds were reporting that the monsters were more violent and they were concentrated around the structures.

Kael didn’t know how to solve all the problems, so he decided to use the adventurers and created the extermination mission in each of the Guilds. With this he hoped to have the problem solved.

Kaly didn’t know what was happening in the other cities. But if she did, she probably wouldn’t do anything, since she didn’t care. Darius didn’t care either, what he did two years ago was just help the Kingdom with food, but he wanted something in return, he got a bit of money and the respect of some nobles, which helped in trade. He also earned the hatred of other nobles, but little by little he imposed his strength and managed to avoid trouble.

Some problems still persist, but he manages to cope.

Darius was lying down, he was resting, and it was at that moment that he remembered that he hadn’t told Kaly to fight Shiva. He’d simply forgotten to schedule the fight.

So the fight would take place at another time, or without an audience. But it would be interesting if the fight took place in a venue with several paying spectators.

The tournament of magic and swords will take place in four months, so it would be the perfect time for the two of them to show that they were the strongest. At least he hoped that Shiva would be as strong as Kaly.

Dwarves live long lives, they are known as warriors, blacksmiths and for mining and especially for the beer they brew. They say that a dwarf never refuses a drink, but this is seen as a pejorative.

Shiva was unhappy with Darius’ neglect but agreed to have the fight at the tournament in the Capital, as many people, including the King, would see how skilled he was. It would also serve as an advertisement for his weapons store. Since they would see his weapons used in real combat, there’s no better way to show how tough they are.

This time, Kaly came along and accepted the fight.

In fact, Darius even told her, but the two of them ended up forgetting to schedule the fight. The events in the forest meant that they had less time and therefore couldn’t keep to the schedule.
