Chapter 229: A Big Twist of the Trending Story

"I want you out of here right now!"

It was not easy to be a doctor.

They saved people from Death every day, and medical knowledge was difficult to learn. Also, many people who didn’t understand the medical profession made trouble for doctors on a frequent basis.

The director would never allow such black sheep to compromise the reputation of medical staff!

"That’s right! Get out of here!

"The medical profession is sacred. This is no place for women like you!"

The probationary nurse was very embarrassed.

When she caught on, she stared at Yvonne with resentful eyes.

It was all because of her!

Yvonne’s children had disconcerted her, and Yvonne had told everybody that she was not wearing a uniform!

The probationary nurse was panting angrily, her fists clenched tightly.

But soon, Yvonne was gone from her sight, replaced by a man emanating a cold air.

Standing in front of Yvonne, Zachary looked at the probationary nurse, his gaze as flinty as a blade.

The probationary nurse seemed unconvinced. The look in her eyes instantly changed from a resentful one to a pitiable one. There were even tears flowing from the corners of her eyes.

"Mr. Leinster, I... " She was unreconciled to the situation.

"Beat it," Zachary said coldly, deep disgust in his eyes.

The probationary nurse felt as if she had been slapped in the face. She swiveled her head aside, and when she turned it back, she showed her true colors, the pitiful expression in them gone.

But Yvonne and Zachary were obviously not going to talk to the slutty, calculating nurse anymore. They had already turned around and were leaving with their three children.

The probationary nurse watched Yvonne and her family turn around. After a few moments’ silence, she struggled to push away the onlookers, returned to the nurses’ station, grabbed her bag and, clutching her collar, strode off the floor.

The crowd watched the probationary nurse leave, and their whispers never stopped. "Fortunately, they fired her. If such a person really becomes a nurse, it would be a

disgrace to the medical profession!"

"Tell me about it. There’s no telling how many people and families would be hurt if she’s allowed to stay."

"Stop staring at her!" A woman slapped her husband across the back of his head. "Do you want me to gouge out your eyes and stick them to the back of that girl’s head? You need to be careful the next time you encounter someone like her."

The onlookers were still discussing in a low voice.

...

The check-up which had lasted several hours was now coming to an end.

Sitting on the sofa, Yvonne stretched her neck and stood up.

Andy ran out of the consulting room where he had a check-up.

"Mom, Mom... " Andy screamed, throwing himself into Yvonne’s arms.

Yvonne promptly put a finger to her lips to hush him and, feigning annoyance, said, "This is the place where doctors and nurses work. There are other people here. Do not make any noises."

Andy rubbed his face against Yvonne’s chest and then, looking at her with limpid eyes, said with the air of a spoiled child, "I understand, Mom. Andy won’t do that again."

Yvonne couldn’t bring herself to scold the boy anymore.

Two things had happened during their stay in this hospital, and she was now a little tired.

But at the sight of Andy’s adorable face, she found a second wind. Smiling, she stroked Andy’s head. Unexpectedly, the boy immediately made another request. "Mom, I’m the first to finish the check-up. I wanna play with your phone for a while, Mom."

"You cunning little devil," said Yvonne resignedly as she thought that this kid never played cute for no reason.

Yvonne gave Andy her phone.

Andy sat down contentedly and began to play.

"Mom, isn’t this boy me?" Andy suddenly said to Yvonne.

...

"What are you talking about?" Yvonne curiously turned to look where Andy was pointing.

It was a trending tweet.

Its title read "The husband went to a hospital. His wife, dissatisfied with a nurse’s service, kicked up a stink in the clinic and even tore the nurse’s clothes!"

There was also a video at the bottom.

When Yvonne watched the video, she was shocked that it was her family in the video! And it was that scheming intern nurse!

She did not know who had recorded the video, but it should be one of the onlookers.

Yvonne looked at the sender’s user ID. It was a string of incomprehensible words and a suggestive profile picture.

Yvonne tapped the profile picture to check the sender’s Twitter page and found that on it were all kinds of contents about her daily life, pictures showing the sender’s arms, legs... None of the pictures showed the sender’s face, but all of them were bedizened.

Yvonne could tell at a glance that the sender was not a decent woman.

After thinking back for only a few moments, Yvonne came to know that the slanderer was the probationary nurse she had criticized a couple of hours ago.

This probationary nurse was distorting the truth!

What was more annoying was that she had also edited the video!

All the accusations against Yvonne and the others had been cut out or blurred by the onlookers’ voices!

Those who had witnessed the whole thing, of course, knew that it was a lie.

But the netizens who had not been present would get the impression that Yvonne, who sounded rather aggressive in the video, had bullied the nurse, who wept throughout the video.

Although the trending tweet was not at the top, judging from the rate at which it was gaining popularity, it was only a matter of time before the topic was moved to the top!

Yvonne scrolled down to see what the netizens were saying.

"I’m a woman, but I still want to say that some women are not competent enough, but they keep their husbands tied to their apron strings. They’d have nobody but themselves to blame if their husbands transfer their affections to other women."

"Sender of the last post, are you saying that the wife is the one to blame if a home-wrecker ruins her family? This is typical no- victims-are-blameless theory! Besides, have you not seen the video? What’s it got to do with the wife’s competence? Are

you blind or something? Can you not see how many times prettier the wife is than that nurse?"

Someone immediately demurred, "What good could her pretty face possibly do her? She’s narrow-minded. Even if her husband doesn’t cheat on her today, he’s guaranteed to do it another day."

...

The comment had received many Likes and replies. It was only too obvious that the argument was quite fierce.

Yvonne curled her lip and ignored this kind of malicious attack on others who didn’t know the whole story.

"No matter what, she shouldn’t have torn the nurse’s clothes."

"Has the situation escalated to this level? I heard that someone with a knife kicked up a stink in the hospital only hours ago, and now there’s another one? Was it that woman again?"

Most remarks in the comment area were slanderous words from brainless netizens.

Of course, there were also a couple of comments from cool-headed netizens.

"I think it’s advisable to see this matter from two perspectives. What if the video was edited? What if the truth is not like this?"

"Look at the nurse’s uniform. Although it’s mosaicked, it looks quite strange. Maybe it’s not a real nurse’s uniform."

Yvonne gave the two comments the thumbs-up.

"Am I the only one who noticed the three children on the side were really cute?"

At the sight of it, Yvonne smiled and heftily tapped the Like button. Yvonne was just about to scroll down when she paused and took a screenshot of the comment.

After running an eye over the comments, Yvonne tapped the Latest button to get the latest replies to the post.

"Andy is here. Andy is the best!"

Yvonne suddenly saw that comment and lapsed into giggles.

"You sent that comment?" Yvonne asked Andy.

Andy nodded silently.

...

"Andy is here. Andy is the best!"

Yvonne suddenly saw this comment and lapsed into giggles.

She thought, "What a cute little kid!"

"You sent that comment?" Yvonne asked Andy.

Andy nodded silently.

The two of them were talking when Zachary walked over.

Having noticed her grave face, Zachary ran his fingers through her hair and kissed her lips.

"What’s wrong?"

At the sight of him, Yvonne pouted and tossed him her phone.

"See for yourself.

"Darling, that nurse just came to me again."

The loving expression on Zachary’s face was replaced by a faintly cold one as he recalled the calculating nurse.

He took Yvonne’s phone and began to check the contents of the tweet.

After browsing for a few seconds, Zachary handed the phone back to Yvonne impassively. Then, he took out his own phone, typed a message and then sent it.

Moments later, Zachary answered a call and gave some instructions to the one on the other end of the line.

Having weathered more than one storm these years, Yvonne had great confidence in Zachary’s competence, but at this moment, she still held her husband’s arm and asked curiously, "Darling, what did you just send?"

A faint, sneering smile touched Zachary’s mouth.

"It’s been five years since the last time a daredevil like her messed with us. She’s bullied my wife. There’s no way I’m letting her get away with it."

With that, Zachary stroked Yvonne’s head and smiled, "Don’t worry. I’m not gonna let anybody do you or our children harm."

...

At this moment, the probationary nurse was sitting in her rented apartment with two of her besties.

"I’m telling you, when dealing with such an ugly woman, you have to have everyone curse her, so that even if she manages to hush it up eventually, her face will be full of wrinkles!" said the former probationary nurse through gritted teeth.

One of her best friends, browsing through trending tweets with the nurse’s phone, frowned and said,

"Well... She’s not really an ugly woman. Actually, she’s very pretty... Trinity, she seems even prettier than you."

Face of the nurse named Trinity who had tried to seduce Zachary during the day instantly went sullen.

"So what?! Are you my friend or not?!"

"Yes, yes... Her good looks won’t do any good. I’m sure she had a plastic surgery!"

The double-faced nurse’s anger was not dissolved. Instead, it intensified!

At this moment, a surprised look suddenly appeared on the face of the other bestie of the nurse, and with that she quickly handed her phone to Trinity.

"What’s the matter? Am I wrong about that?"

"No. Take a look at this!"

Another trending tweet had just appeared. Its title read "A probationary nurse abused her position and seduced several married men!"

She tapped the tweet and found that at the beginning of it was a video about her.

In the video, her uniform was torn, revealing her underwear which was of a special design and made of special material. People with enough discernment could tell at a glance that it was not a professional garb but a piece of clothing designed to seduce men.

On top of that, even the nurse’s uniform she was wearing was of a special design! It was fake!

Soon, more videos appeared on Twitter. The first video was an unedited version of the one posted by the nurse, and the edited parts had been subtitled.

The uncut video made it very clear that everyone present was accusing the nurse, and that the director fired her on the spot!

Before the probationary nurse could figure out what was going on, another trending topic appeared on Twitter. The title read "A probationary nurse seduced married men. Surveillance video of the hospital brought it to light."

The trending tweet had several surveillance videos attached to it, most of which were from the security cameras in the hospital, the remainder from "helpful netizens".

The tweets and the trending post sent by the probationary nurse had long since disappeared without a trace.
