Reincarnated as the Baron's son: My Infinite Card Upgrade System-Chapter 61: Wilson Eonak.
"Lady Erica, it doesn’t taste harmful. It’s safe to drink."
Erica heard Ava perfectly, but still, her gaze could not stop lingering on the faces of the huge men standing close to their table.
And from the looks on their faces, Erica could tell they were getting irritated and annoyed.
She tried to signal Ava with her eyes to do something about it that wouldn’t result in violence, but Ava couldn’t care.
"Are you not thirsty?" asked Ava, once again ignoring the men standing beside her.
"Oi!" one of them finally spoke with a disgusted look on his face. "Where do you get off ignoring us like that?"
Ava looked at them for a while. "Can I help you?" she asked with little to no interest.
Before they could reply, their eyes fell on Ava’s bust again, the arousing sight causing one of them to drool a bit.
"Heheh~ We can forgive your rudeness. Beautiful girls like you should not be doing that, you know. Sorry if I raised my voice."
"Yeah, yeah, my friend can be an idiot sometimes. He means no harm."
They both spoke, moving closer to Ava.
From nowhere...
"Uhm... We are... waiting for someone... can you please leave us alone?"
The moment Erica said this, she flinched. The scary men looked at her as if trying to devour her with their eyes.
"What did you say?" one of them howled.
Erica was already tense, practically sweating.
"I didn’t get that, sweetie. What did you say? Now, why would we leave such beautiful girls alone?"
The shortest one walked over to her and was about to put his hand on her shoulder.
This was when Ava’s eyes snapped.
With a single slash of her sword, she swiftly sliced off the man’s arm, allowing the blood to spray on Erica’s face.
Was everyone shocked? Yes. Confused? Also, yes.
It happened so fast that no one could follow up on the movement, not until the man’s arm dropped on the table.
And then...
"Ahhh! YOU BITCH!" the short man yelled before dropping to the ground, his face etched with so much pain.
People seated close to the scene were either shocked or pissed off, as some of them could be seen standing up from their chairs and moving closer.
"A-Vaaaa!" Erica was even more scared, her grip tight on the table.
She could see more scary men getting closer, allowing her to forget the fact that blood had just spilled on her face.
At the moment, she felt she should help the man with the missing hand, but at the same time, she wasn’t stupid enough to put herself in their midst.
"It’s okay, please don’t worry about it. Do you have everything you need for the meeting? I forgot to ask before we got here," Ava spoke.
Erica was surprised. She couldn’t understand how Ava was able to remain calm while so many dangerous people were surrounding them.
Most of the hostesses around the area had already intentionally hidden themselves behind the counter. No one wanted to get caught in a crossfire.
"Hey! You better have a good explanation as to why you just cut off my boy’s arm. And that was by no means a frickin’ request!" the man, who had already pulled out two knives from his pocket, spoke.
"Uhm, she... she didn’t mean to—"
"Did you see me cut his hand off? If you didn’t, then why point fingers at me?"
Ava chimed in, interrupting Erica while giving the man who spoke a death stare.
"What?!" The man was angered.
"This bitch thinks she’s slick."
"I say we kill her."
"Cutting off Jiko’s hand is quite bold."
One by one, more people began to speak.
All but one—the very person who had his hand sliced off.
He was still kneeling on the ground in pain, while one of the hostesses was trying to heal his hand using some medicine.
He looked up at Ava, tears already dripping at the side of his cheeks. "The hell are you fools standing there for! Kill them! Kill them both!" he yelled.
Almost immediately, as if just waiting for the order, everyone began to pull out their weapons, laughing like hyenas on the hunt.
"Ava..." Erica called out again, this time coming from a place of concern.
Ava sighed. "Please cover your eyes. I’ll end this as quickly as possible."
"Eh? What do you—"
"Die, bitch!"
One of the gang tried to stab Ava from behind and instead had a sword pierce the bottom of his jaw, with the tip coming out from the top of his head.
Of course, this was done by no other person but Ava.
She had seen him coming and spun her blade so she could easily stab him wherever she wanted.
Seeing one of their own die again, the rest got enraged and began to attack her in numbers.
The first thing Ava did was fly over the table to grab Erica and toss her over the counter to meet the hostesses.
With Erica safe, she could fully focus on eliminating the threat before her.
There was no part of her that felt the need to hold back, and that was for a good reason.
She completely hated thugs, especially the ones in pub houses.
As a kid, most of the problems she faced started with them. One in particular, when a thug stole her pet dog and took it to the pub to act as their plaything.
From that moment on, her hatred for them grew tenfold.
Holding her blade firmly, she took care of the men in front of her, cutting them open like they were mere bread.
And she kept going, using her immense speed and strength to overpower every single one of them.
One by one, they fell, unable to keep up with the fighting capabilities of the diamond-ranked knight.
In a matter of a few minutes, the once lively pub became a blood pool. No one dared to move closer to Ava. There she stood, her feet on top of the piles of dead bodies she had racked up.
Though everyone panicked, three men, customers just like Erica and Ava, remained seated on their chairs with no care in the world about what was happening around them.
"What the hell? Who is that girl?" one of the hostesses whispered, hiding behind the counter.
Erica, who was hiding, her eyes closed, began to open them after she noticed the sound of people screaming in pain and limbs being chopped off had started to reduce.
The next thing she noticed was the terrified expressions on everyone’s faces.
’Don’t tell me she killed them all... Hmm, brother is so going to yell at me for this,’ she thought to herself as she slowly stood to her feet.
She could already feel the hostesses around her keeping their distance.
"Lady Erica, are you alright?" Ava asked, slashing her blade to the side to remove the blood on it.
’He is so going to kill me.’
Erica was so shocked that she couldn’t say a word.
Right on time, the door to the pub opened, and a man dressed in a rather rich fashion with three strong bodyguards behind him walked in.
Blood, shocked expressions, a woman holding a blade, and hostesses hiding behind the counter.
"Someone wanna explain to me what the fuck happened while I was gone? Huh?!" the man spoke with a cigarette in his mouth.
"Boss!" Some of the men who just happened to be alive fell to their knees and bowed their heads.
There was no mistaking it. Erica’s eyes widened once she noticed it.
"Wilson Eonak," she blurted out.
Just like she remembered, he was a man of many things, owning the red-light district of Velmo County.
"I asked a damn question. What happened in my damn pub?!" he yelled.
"Pardon me, uhmm, something happened? Wait, no, we had a slight issue, and it was not something that could have been settled without violence..."
Erica began, walking out of the counter.
No one there dared to speak, not when Wilson was looking as pissed as he did.
It was like speaking to a hungry lion while jingling fresh meat in front of it. It was only a matter of time before it snapped its jaws.
But Erica, for the first time, her innocence played a huge part in her safety.
She stood in front of Wilson, a small nervous look on her face.
"I should introduce myself. My name is Erica Montclair. I don’t know if you remember me, but I once helped your daughter get into the royal academy a few months ago. This was about this fall, with beautiful golden hair," she ranted, her way of trying to get the man on her side while also changing the topic.
There was no excuse she could give that would justify the amount of bloodshed the man walked in on.
Thus, she tried something else.
The man in question didn’t seem too intrigued, not until he got a good look at her face.
"Ohhhh, Erica! I remember you now! Hahaha, where the hell have you been?"
