Chapter 370: Dreamscale Dragon (2nd Stage)

Unaware of the fact that she had almost ended up being taken away by the people from the Holy Light Church while in the process of going through her evolution, Scaly began to silently stir inside the small space beneath the small floating island that she had turned into her temporary home.

It had already been weeks since she had started her evolutions and by this point, a clear change had already taken place, as her size had doubled compared to what it had been before while her overall appearance remained the same outside of her wings that had taken a more solid shape albeit still overall remaining translucent and hard to spot when tucked against her body.

Rustle~

Along with her evolution having essentially come to an end faster than Scaly herself had originally anticipated, it didn’t take long before the now rather sizable dragon opened her eyes and inspected her surroundings for any danger. Making sure that she was alone inside the small space before starting to move around her now larger body with a growing sense of interest, as it was clear that she was far stronger compared to before.

Not only her strength, but most prominently her magic had grown to a terrifying extent after her evolution this time around. Reaching a point where she could directly feel how much stronger her magic had become after what essentially felt to her like a short nap.

But maybe the thing that drew the most attention after waking up wasn’t the growth in strength, but instead the simple fact that she wasn’t met with an unbearable sense of hunger like she had been in the past. Instead, she felt like she had just eaten an entire banquet on her own and didn’t feel the slightest need to fill up her stomach.

Weird as this was considering her experience from previous evolutions, it didn’t take her long to accept it, as she already knew that it was her new ability to sustain herself entirely through magic kicking in.

Still, she was filled with curiosity regarding how much stronger she had become after her evolution this time around. Wasting no time as she pulled up her own status after making sure that she wouldn’t be in any danger...

Name: Scaly

Race: Dreamscale Dragon (2nd Stage)

Dragon blood: 41% (Rare)

Level: 1/50, 0%

Mana Heart: Third Circle 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

STR: 1557 |VIT: 2937 | DEX: 1859 | M: 5272

Magic: [Dragon Water Magic, lvl 9], [Ice Magic lvl 3], [Wind Magic, lvl 7], [Lightning Magic, lvl 4], [Dream Magic lvl 5]

Skills: [Dragon Bloodline, lvl 4], [Dragon Flight, lvl 8], [Poison/Venom Resistance, lvl 5], [Dragon Claw Strike, lvl 9], [Dragon Breath (Water), lvl 6], [Corrosion Resistance, lvl 4], [Pain Resistance, lvl 6], [Swimming, lvl 6], [Dragon Heart, lvl 1], [Endless Vitality, lvl 1], [Agility, lvl 1], [Brute Force, lvl 1], [Fear Resistance, lvl 1], [Mana Consumption, lvl 1]

And the sight that met her was more surprising than she had originally expected, as her dragon blood that had been stuck at 31% for a long time had jumped all the way to 41% after this evolution. Breaking away from the uncommon quality dragon blood into rare quality dragon blood. Not that she knew what any of it meant, but a higher quality of dragon blood wasn’t anything she would complain about.

If anything, she found it a bit surprising that her dragon bloodline hadn’t increased in level alongside the purity of her dragon blood, though she guessed it might have to do with her needing to fulfill some other requirements that she hadn’t yet managed to figure out.

Outside of this unexpected surprise, there was also the new skill, mana consumption, that had appeared after her evolution this time around...

[Mana Consumption, lvl 1]: No longer do you need to lower yourself to eat the food of mortals, air alone is enough to sustain your immortal self. Allows the consumption of mana in the air to sustain oneself.

And the description was exactly what she had expected, though she didn’t exactly agree with not needing to eat other foods any longer, as she very much wanted to continue eating delicious monsters like she had done in the past.

Next up was the overall increase in her strength this time around.

Starting from her strength, alongside her vitality and dexterity, things seemed to have increased to a similar extent. Increasing by 450 each followed by the 50 from the increased purity of her dragon blood.

The outlier being her magic that had grown by 1000 plus the 50 from the increased purity of her dragon blood. Bringing her magic stat all the way past the five thousand mark, while at the same time also increasing the circles around her mana heart from two to three.

Altogether, there wasn’t exactly anything that exciting and new about her sixth evolution, as it just made her stronger overall without adding any new abilities for her to keep an eye on. Allowing her to continue focusing on the different skills and magic she had been focusing on beforehand without having to split her attention towards something new again.

In a way, she liked it this way, as her attention couldn’t be focused on too many things at the same time, a clear example being how her lightning magic and ice magic had clearly fallen behind after she focused on her new dream magic alongside her water magic and wind magic.

Rustle~

As she finished looking through her new and improved status, Scaly slowly rolled onto her feet and got up. Stretching her now far larger wings before knocking aside the rocks she had used to seal herself off from the outside world during her evolution. Soon enough, finding herself greeting the familiar colorful sky of the dreamscape that hadn’t changed much from when she had sealed herself off before her sixth evolution.

The only visible difference being that the floating continent had drifted a few meters further away compared to before, though that change wasn’t anywhere near what she had originally feared would happen before she had decided to undergo her sixth evolution on one of the small floating islands near the floating continent.

Hm? So many dream jellyfish...?

However, as she began surveying the sky around the small floating island, Scaly soon enough noticed what could only be described as a swarm of dream jellyfish in the distance. So far away that she had barely noticed the large number of dream jellyfish earlier.

[Dream Jellyfish, lvl 42]

[Dream Jellyfish, lvl 131]

[Dream Jellyfish, lvl 67]

[Dream Jellyfish, lvl 89]

[Dream Jellyfish, lvl 123]

[Dream Jellyfish, lvl 106]

[Dream Jellyfish, lvl 56]

[Dream Jellyfish...]

Even more surprising, the strength and size of those dream jellyfish in the distance was terrifying to the point where Scaly had no plan whatsoever of getting anywhere near them.

After all, outside of their terrifying strength and level, the sheer size of some of those dream jellyfish that had surpassed level one hundred was comparable to a small floating island. Making it difficult for her to imagine how in the world she would be able to kill something that massive.

Luckily, she had never thought about attacking those dream jellyfish, as she still clearly remembered from the description of the dream jellyfish that they were among the dreamscape monsters that could absolutely not be offended or attacked inside the dreamscape.

Although she hadn’t really feared them that much in the past given the fact that she hadn’t truly seen any of the larger ones. Now that she had, she began to understand why those dream jellyfish couldn’t be carelessly attacked, as she already guessed that the dream jellyfish swarming together in the distance had to do with someone who had ended up accidentally provoking these normally peaceful dreamscape monsters.

Dream jellyfish aside, Scaly turned her attention towards the floating continent not too far away and after a quick glance, she emerged from her hiding place and glided through the sky of the dreamscape with little to no effort.

Not just because of how she had mastered the ability to fly through the dreamscape with her self-created dream coat dream magic spell, but also because she felt that the overall pressure, she felt moving around the sky of the dreamscape had lessened significantly after her sixth evolution. Making it far easier for her to move through the sky of the dreamscape.

Originally, she thought this might have to do with her sixth evolution as a larger dreamscape dragon, but on second thought, she guessed that it likely had to do with her mana heart reaching a brand-new level after her magic broke through five thousand.

No matter which of the two it was, all she knew for certain was that it was now far easier for her to move through the sky of the dreamscape.

But considering that she would be spending her time on the floating continent and not in the sky of the dreamscape for the foreseeable future, she didn’t care that much about it becoming easier for her to move through the sky of the dreamscape...
