Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 718: His Presence
The Mortalverse.
In a lonely field of space positioned between two spatial storms.
This place was distraught with multiple spatial distortions that manifested in the form of constantly collapsing spatial dimensions that were being created over and over again.
Spatial storms, as they implied, were disturbances in the very fabric of space that could sometimes be very disastrous.
It usually involved the appearance and sudden collapse of one minor pocket space. This would cause a chain reaction like a ripple in a calm lake, causing more and more pocket dimensions to be created and destroyed in succession.
The result of this was an unstable space field that made it hard for anything to pass through without being turned to minced atoms.
However, the resulting naturally generated spatial distortion field was very useful if one could make use of it.
It was suspected that these space storms were the inspiration for the first Master Builder Races to build the first spatial distortion field engine.
However, the defence provided by a spatial storm was greater than that of an ordinary spatial distortion engine. Not only were powerful distortion fields being generated, but the spatial storm itself was very destructive.
It was a double layer of defence.
Unfortunately, because of the spatial distortion field that was way more powerful than an artificially generated field, it was hard to detect spatial storms without being that was adept at navigating the power of space navigating the way.
It was not uncommon for some arkships to fly directly into a spatial storm simply because their sensors did not detect it in front of them.
This was one of the mysterious phenomena that constantly kept the population of the universe at a controlled level.
But there were cases much worse than that, much worse.
In the records of the lion historian kings, there was a mention of one particular race that was developing fast on a backwater planet.
It was a race of humans, this was around the time the lions had just started getting interested in the source of the devolution seeds.
This particular human race had developed very fast, creating technological wonders and quickly colonising their moons.
The lions who had observed all this made sure to note down the ambitions and greed of the humans as well as the grandiosity of the leaders. But that was normal amongst intelligent races, it was the very reason they were able to prosper in the first place.
But the observers also made note of how fast these humans were discovering 'new' technologies. At their pace, they should be getting into interstellar travel in a few centuries.
However, in their journey to interstellar dominion, they grew impatient. The speed of light was an annoying physical constraint that their scientists worked day and night to beat.
It was more annoying that nothing that had mass could actually move at the speed of light so any technology they created would only push them infinitely close to the speed of light, but never beyond it.
The speed of light was fast in local thought fields but in the grand stage of the universe, it was painfully slow.
So these humans had begun to research wormhole technology earlier than they should have.
They made progress, and they were able to create a very small artificial black hole, which was a major milestone in science.
The problem came when they chose to use quantum entanglement to link space fields in different locations together.
If they succeeded with this, they would have successfully created their first warp gate and explored the mysteries of how cosmic factions use warp technology.
Alas, the universe had ways of stunting growth…permanently.
Their first warp gate was a success, but they ended up creating an unregulated pocket space that immediately collapsed on itself, starting a chain of more pocket spaces that were created and collapsing.
Long story short, the whole planet was destroyed by the resulting spatial storm that very day.
All the progress they had made, all the technologies they had developed, all the land they had occupied, gone before anyone had time to prepare dinner.
Such was the occasional case.
Kael thought about these historical facts as he sat down quietly on a wooden bench underneath the afternoon sun.
His blonde hair that matched the colour of his beard fluttered playfully under the influence of the afternoon sun.
His elbows rested on his knees and his eyes pierced forward. What was he thinking about?
Donned in a clean white suit, Kael waited. He had been waiting here for a few minutes now, mentally monitoring everything that was happening through his systems.
He also thought of these spatial storms because the arkship he was in right now was parked inside a spatial storm.
It was the best defense when trying to raise the monkeys in secret without interference from other factions but it was also the most dangerous spot.
In relation to that, Kael also thought about the current priority of increasing the number of immortals in the Lion Civilization.
Quin, Memphis's neglected friend, was a space lion king and he was part of those Kael wanted to test out for evolution into an immortal.
Because each lion was different, they couldn't experience the same thing.
Kael himself didn't have a problem, achieving full embodiment was already an extreme pressure on his essence of being, so he would probably have less difficulty achieving immortality.
That didn't mean it would be easy, just that he may not be required to do what others are doing.
A limit was still a limit, irrespective of how it was framed.
But others like Quin may actually have to dive into spatial storms just to have a higher chance of succeeding.
Kael was thinking of how he could get his hands on some of that honey that the bees were currently producing.
The honey has a lot of benefits that could solve most of their current problems right now.
"Your Majesty," a voice called to Kael from the side.
Kael's ears twitched slightly. He didn't turn his head to look, he was still looking at the horizon.
So peaceful.
"Your Majesty, I brought him," N'bayé said as she approached Kael, wearing her white robes and having her familiar tattoos glowing from different parts of her body.
It had been a while since Kael saw N'bayé.
Finally, Kael's eyes shifted, and with it the whole arkship.
The chamber world that they were currently in had been simulating an afternoon in a normal world.
But as soon as Kael's eyes moved to look at N'bayé, everything went dark. The afternoon turned to night very fast and the artificial stars started glowing in the sky.
N'bayé looked at the sky with a nonchalant expression, then returned her gaze to see that Kael was staring at her.
Her spine tingled and her body shivered. She felt goosebumps all over her skin, like cold ants crawling all over her.
Those were unfathomably deep. The beauty they projected was ten times more than what she saw the last time, a side effect of the Charm Essence.
But beyond the beauty and mesmerising illusions from those eyes, they were deep.
How could something so shiny be so dark?
For that was how Kael's eyes appeared to be to N'bayé, bright gold yet as dark as the abyss.
Kael's presence was powerful. All he had to do was distract himself for a second as he turned his eyes, that was enough for the arkship to be taken over by his will and respond to his inner state.
Kael's mind was in a rather dark and peaceful state, so the arkship reacted by creating this night scene.
All this happened because of the existence of a few Laws within Kael's body and his Law of Conquering was working with those laws to create this effect.
The Law of Architecture being one of them. Since Musty was dead, all the Primordials who were under him now had to defect to the All-King if they wanted to remain alive.
Since the owner of the loyalty contract was dead, they had no issues with this.
The thought flashed through Kael's mind. If he had the Laws of Machinery and Engineering, laws that were affiliated with the master builder races, then the effects would be much more potent.
Machines and buildings would literally bend to his will, just because he was there.
For now, Kael ignored the little experiment he did and focused on N'bayé, particularly on what was beside her.
Hovering next to N'bayé was a little construct. A baby pod.
A little contraption similar to a baby stroller, except this one hovered with the help of magic runes and had many regulators that made the contraption so much better and safer.
Inside that baby pod was a creature, an arthropod, a monkey to be precise.
A very small monkey with a small head and a smaller body. Its big round blue eyes looked around at the world it had been born into.
Those blue eyes contained within them a very shocking level of intelligence and wisdom. They looked around with the curiosity of a seasoned scholar, constantly absorbing information from what they could see.
N'bayé placed her finger on the edge of the baby stroller and pushed it gently so that it could drift toward Kael.
"Your Majesty, I present to you, the newborn Primordial Monkey of Wisdom…"
