Reincarnated as a Divine Tree-Chapter 125Vol. 1 - - The Zhou Clan
The clan had long lived deep in the mountains and lacked the giant birds the Zhou clan used for travel. As a result, they needed to forge a new path.
Relocating to another area for development was never an option for Chen Xingzhen. The place where the Divine Tree grew was where the clan would remain. Furthermore, they had the Natural Blood Spring and the abundant resources of Chaotic Burial Mountain. While these conditions might not seem ideal to other families, they were essential for the Chen clan's growth.
As long as they were strong enough, their location didn’t matter. In fact, being here had its advantages—they didn’t have to worry about sudden attacks from rival families. However, building a road through the mountains was no easy task, especially given their small number of clan members.
To speed up the process, Chen Xingzhen summoned villagers from every settlement, recruiting young men and offering grain as compensation. Before the clan began harvesting blood rice, they had cultivated many ordinary fields. The grain from a single season was enough to sustain them for several years, making it the best choice for payment.
When the villagers heard the Chen clan’s call, they quickly gathered their tools and arrived without hesitation. They didn’t fully understand the significance of building the road or the clan’s ultimate goal. To many, it seemed like a thankless and arduous task. After all, they had lived this way for generations and were accustomed to the rugged terrain.
Yet, they came anyway—many even stating that just providing food was enough.
By the second day, nearly a hundred people had gathered, far exceeding the number of actual clan members. It was almost all the young men from the villages. This unexpected turnout surprised many within the Chen clan, who hadn’t realized the extent of their influence.
With the combined efforts of the clan and the villagers, they carved roads through the mountains and built bridges over rivers. Progress accelerated far beyond what they had expected.
Although feeding and compensating over a hundred workers consumed a considerable amount of grain, the expense was insignificant compared to the long-term benefits.
…
That night, the leaves of the Divine Tree in the Ancestral Hall emitted a faint glow.
It had been seven days since Chen Qingyu left.
Beneath the Divine Tree, Chen Xingzhen and several other Blood Coagulation Realm martial artists were gathered, reporting on the day's progress. Despite the large number of workers, most of them were ordinary villagers with no combat abilities. Throughout construction, they frequently encountered wild beasts, and without the intervention of clan martial artists, injuries would have been inevitable.
Fortunately, the clan had enough manpower to handle these incidents, and no major accidents had occurred.
Even so, clearing a complete road took time. In seven days, despite the villagers’ and clan members’ combined efforts, they had managed to clear only about one kilometer. At this rate, the project would still take considerable time.
However, according to recent reports, progress had been smoother over the past two days, with fewer obstacles. If this continued, their speed would increase significantly.
After hearing the updates, Chen Xingzhen turned toward the Divine Tree, murmuring, “I wonder how Qingyu is doing. Has he reached the Zhou clan yet? I hope everything is going smoothly.”
Beside him, Chen Tianyu and several others clasped their hands in silent prayer, hoping for Chen Qingyu’s safe return and the successful completion of the road.
As they prayed, a locust leaf on the Divine Tree began to glow with a faint golden light. Suddenly, a red light screen appeared before them.
They were stunned at first, but soon realized it was the work of the Divine Tree.
As the image on the screen became clearer, a familiar figure emerged—Chen Qingyu.
Joy spread across their faces. They hadn’t expected the Divine Tree to possess such miraculous abilities. Without hesitation, they gathered around to watch the unfolding scene.
…
“Phew, we finally made it!”
Looking at the familiar sight of his clan’s estate in the distance, Zhou Honglang let out a long breath of relief.
Even though they had traveled on Wind-Chasing Falcons, the added burden of carrying blood rice had slowed them down, causing them to arrive on the evening of the seventh day.
The other clan members who had accompanied him sighed in relief, their eyes reflecting the same joy.
As soon as they landed, a Zhou clan member stepped forward to greet them.
“Welcome back, Elder Huai’an.”
Zhou Huai’an gave a slight nod before turning to Zhou Honglang. “You take care of things here. I’ll report back to the clan.”
“Take your time, Uncle. I’ll handle everything,” Zhou Honglang replied, then immediately instructed the others to start unloading the blood rice from the Wind-Chasing Falcons.
These falcons had been raised by the clan since birth. They were incredibly strong and capable of flying at extraordinary speeds. While once used in battle, they were now primarily used for transport—a slight waste of their capabilities.
After such a long journey, the birds would need several days of rest. Not only were they essential for travel, but they also symbolized the clan’s prestige, second only to their totem. They had to be treated with great care.
As the unloading continued, Chen Qingyu dismounted from his Wind-Chasing Falcon.
His previously calm gaze flickered with astonishment as he took in the sight before him.
A massive estate stood at the heart of the city, its towering walls smooth and polished, as if crafted with meticulous precision. A coat of red paint covered the walls, adding an imposing presence to the structure.
At the entrance, massive redwood pillars supported the grand gate. Chen Qingyu couldn’t identify the type of wood, but a faint, pleasant fragrance wafted from them.
Glowing red stones hung at regular intervals along the walls, their brightness illuminating the area even in the deep of night.
Above the entrance, a large plaque bore the inscription “Yunmeng Zhou Clan” in bold, mysterious calligraphy, unlike anything an ordinary person could carve.
Taking in the scene, Chen Qingyu turned to look behind him, his eyes still filled with awe.
