Chapter 231: Nothing else

The night was still by the villa, broken only by the faint chirp of night bugs outside, their song fading into the quiet.

Kael stood barefoot before the twins’ bedroom door, the black box Liss had given him clutched in his hand, its contents jingling softly with each step.

He exhaled, his hazel eyes steady, and turned the knob, stepping into the dim room, the moonlight slipping through a slit in the curtains, casting silver shadows across the floor.

Lila and Tila lay side-by-side on the bed, wide awake despite the late hour.

Tila was on her side, her back to the door, her wild black hair a tangled halo in the moonlight.

Lila sat upright, her black eyes drowsy but alert, her curly hair framing her pale face, a pillow hugged to her chest, her loose t-shirt shifting slightly.

Their black eyes mirrored the room’s silence, tense and watchful, until the door’s creak broke the quiet.

Tila’s head snapped around, her black eyes narrowing with a glare.

"You’ve got nerve walking in here like that, you pervert," she snapped, her voice sharp, her body tensing under the blanket.

Kael blinked, his hazel eyes glinting with amusement.

"Good evening to you too, sunshine."

"Don’t call me that," Tila shot back, her black eyes flashing, her hair spilling over her shoulder.

"Why are you in our room at night with that stupid smug face?"

"I missed you both," Kael said, setting the black box down near the foot of the bed with a soft thud, his grin teasing but calm. "And I had some questions."

"You’re not sleeping here," Tila snapped, her voice a low growl, her black eyes wary.

"Relax, I’m not that brave," Kael replied, turning to Lila, his tone softening. "Hey."

Lila gave a small nod, her black eyes meeting his, her voice soft, almost shy.

"Hi, Kael." Her curls shifted as she hugged the pillow tighter, her t-shirt loose but hinting at her slender frame.

Kael scratched the back of his neck, his hazel eyes steady, a weight in his posture. "I was thinking. It’s time we settled things between us."

"Settled what?" Tila asked, her voice wary, her black eyes narrowing as she sat up, the blanket slipping slightly, revealing her bare shoulders.

Kael moved to a nearby table, placing the black box down with a thud, the sound echoing in the quiet room.

The twins’ gazes locked onto it, Tila’s black eyes sharpening with suspicion.

"What. Is. That," she said, her voice flat, dangerous. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

Kael flipped the lid open slowly, revealing neatly arranged blindfolds, cuffs, soft ropes, and a few vibrating implements, their glossy handles catching the lamplight’s glow.

He let the silence linger, the tension building, his hazel eyes glinting with purpose.

"You pervert," Tila said, her voice deadpan, her black eyes blazing as she stood, her t-shirt shifting, her hair a wild tangle.

"You brought your kink stash into our room? Do you wanna die?"

"I know what it looks like," Kael replied, calm, raising both hands in a placating gesture. "I’m only here for the blindfolds. Nothing else."

Tila raised a brow, her black eyes skeptical. "Just the blindfolds?"

Lila blinked, her black eyes wide, her voice soft. "Just the blindfolds?"

Kael nodded, pulling out two soft, padded blindfolds, their dark fabric glinting in the moonlight. "Just the blindfolds. I swear."

Tila eyed him, her posture rigid, but her glare softened, curiosity creeping in.

"...You’re such a weirdo," she muttered, sitting back down, her arms folding, her t-shirt tugging slightly.

"I get that a lot," Kael said, his grin returning, his hazel eyes warm but serious as he looked at them both. "I wanted to ask you something."

Tila’s black eyes narrowed again, her voice cautious. "You said that earlier."

Kael’s gaze steadied, locking onto hers, then Lila’s, his tone heavy, direct. "You’ve been a pain, so I’m asking straight. Do you want to leave or stay here?"

Tila didn’t hesitate, her black eyes flashing with defiance. "Leave. Obviously."

Kael turned to Lila, his hazel eyes searching.

Her fingers fidgeted under the blanket, her black eyes unreadable, her curls framing her face as she hesitated. "Lila?"

She looked at him, then at Tila, her voice soft, uncertain.

"...Kael." She paused, her black eyes flickering. "I guess I want to... leave too."

Kael nodded once, his expression calm, as if he’d expected it, his hazel eyes steady.

"All right," he said, stepping back to the bed, placing the blindfolds gently on the edge, their soft fabric a stark contrast to the tension in the room. "Then let’s make it interesting."

Tila’s brow raised, her black eyes glinting with suspicion. "Interesting how?"

Kael leaned in, his hazel eyes sparking with mischief, his grin sly.

"A game," he said. "If you win, I let you both go. No strings, no rehab. You’re free."

Tila’s black eyes narrowed further, her voice sharp.

"What’s the catch?"

Kael’s smirk widened, his tone teasing but firm. "If I win... you listen to everything I say. Forever or I will throw you to the prison dogs."

Lila’s black eyes widened, a flicker of concern crossing her face.

Tila scoffed, her black eyes glinting, her posture leaning forward.

"That’s a shitty deal. What do we get if we win? Just freedom? We can get that by killing you on a random day in the future when I get the chance."

Kael shrugged, his hazel eyes gleaming, his voice playful but serious.

"That’s why I’m sweetening the pot." He paused, letting the words sink in, his gaze locked on theirs. "If you win... you get me."

"...Huh?" Tila tilted her head, her black eyes blinking, her curls shifting.

"You get to keep me," Kael said, his grin wicked, his hazel eyes dancing. "I’ll be your obedient little slave. Clean your boots, cook your meals, whatever you say."

Tila sat upright, her black eyes sparkling with intrigue, her voice low, teasing. "...Now that’s kind of a deal," she admitted, her lips twitching. "You are serious?"

"As serious as your death threats," Kael shot back, his grin unwavering.

Lila’s black eyes flicked to her sister, then back to Kael, her voice soft, concerned. "Are you sure, Kael?"

"I’m sure," he said, his hazel eyes steady, his tone resolute.

Tila leaned forward, her black eyes glinting with excitement, her t-shirt shifting as she moved.

"So. What kind of game are we talking about?"
