Regressor's Harem Of Vengeance-Chapter 29. Upcoming Festival.
Four weeks later, and Ray could be seen standing in the forest clearing with his Frost blade drawn.
He was currently facing three Forest wolves simultaneously and they circled around him, snarling, as their yellow eyes gleamed with a predatory glare.
Each of them was at level 7, 8, and 9, respectively, meaning that all three wolves were dangerous for most awakened fighters, but that was not the case for Ray.
The level 9 alpha lunged first, but Ray didn’t use his <<Void Step>> ability.
He didn’t need to.
Instead, he sidestepped smoothly as his blade flashed in a clean arc, causing the wolf’s head to hit the ground before its body did.
The other two attacked together but Ray activated his <<Power Strike>> ability, and his blade glowed faintly as he swung it.
The strike easily cut through the Level 8 wolf’s skull like it was paper and the last wolf tried to flee. But Ray raised his left hand, and a fire bolt shot out of his palm to hit the wolf mid-leap.
It crashed to the ground, was burned, and died within seconds.
Ray steadied his breathing as he realized he had actually defeated three wolves in less than ten seconds.
A grin spreads across his lips but his system screen appeared before him.

’I’m almost in Level 9.’
’I guess after one more successful hunt of monsters, I should be able to level up to Level 9.’ Ray uttered in his thoughts as he wiped his blade clean before sheathing it.
Over the past four weeks, he’d been hunting aggressively and every afternoon after training with Mira, he’d venture deeper into the forest to hunt stronger monsters.
Time was running out, and Ray knew he had to grow even stronger as soon as possible.
Because two important things were coming close and he needed to be ready for either of them.
Baron Harvard and the monster tide.
Actually, Ray had expected a priestess from the capital to have arrived at the village already.
He wondered why she had not arrived yet to recruit him but the only reason he could think of right now was that of the increasing tension growing between Baron Fluffybottom, Baron Harvard, and some other nobles within the kingdom.
The tension should be more than enough to make the cathedral delay on their quest to find awakened individuals in smaller towns and villages.
Either way, Ray wasn’t really worried about this because it had given him enough time to prepare for the upcoming monster tide and Baron Harvard’s visitation.
Pushing this thought aside for now, Ray focused on what was more important right now.
He looked at the dead wolves in front of him before gathering their wolf pelts.
Each of the pelts was worth at least a few silver coins each and he gathered them all before heading back to the village.
Upon arriving back home, Ray found Mira exactly where he’d left her earlier this morning.
She was busy practicing against a training dummy he had built for her and right now, she was moving with confidence.
Her spear thrusts were sharp and precise, and her footwork was clean as well.
Four weeks of intensive training had transformed Mira from a clumsy beginner into someone who could hold their own in a real fight.
Ray watched Mira for a moment as he admired the way she moved.
It took Mira a while to notice his presence but the moment she did, she stopped.
Now, she was breathing hard and her face was flushed from exertion.
"How long have you been watching?" She asked as she walked closer to him.
"Hmm, long enough to see you’ve improved, and I have to say, your form is almost perfect now."
"Really?" Mira beamed.
"Yeah, and I think you’re ready for the next step."
"What’s the next step?" Mira’s eyes lit up in excitement.
"I believe you’re ready to fight against monsters."
"You mean like what you’ve been doing every afternoon?" Mira’s expression turned serious.
Ray nodded. "Yeah, I’ve been hunting alone for a while but I think you’re ready to come with me now."
Mira gripped her spear tightly. "Yes, I am."
"Well, not today bouncy butt. Maybe tomorrow, so rest tonight because once we start tomorrow, I’m not going to go easy on you."
Mira smiled and stepped closer before rising on her toes to kiss him. "Well, this bouncy butt of yours doesn’t want you to go easy on her either."
"Very well, no take backs." Ray smiled and pulled her against him before deepening the kiss.
Even after four weeks of making love nearly every night, Ray was surprised to see how the desire between them hadn’t dimmed or vanished.
If anything, it had grown stronger than ever before and when they both pulled apart from kissing, both were now breathing hard.
"Tonight?" Mira whispered and kissed his cheek.
"Yeah, just like always."
Mira smiled and immediately skipped happily into the house.
Ray watched as her bouncy butt jiggled in excitement and he couldn’t help but grin at how he was able to have the stamina to satisfy Mira every night for the past four weeks.
A Level 8 awakener’s stamina should never be underestimated.

That evening, Ray sat with his family at dinner.
Helen had made beef stew which was a luxury for most families but she was only able to make it because Ray had been bringing home the silver coins he had earned from selling different monster parts.
Meanwhile, Emma was chattering endlessly about the upcoming harvest festival which would be happening soon. "I heard they’re going to have games! And dancing! And Big sister Mira said she’d make flower crowns with me, right?" she asked Mira.
Mira smiled and nodded in response. "Yes, I did promise to do that."
Emma then turned to Ray. "So, what about you Big Brother? Are you going to dance with Big sister Mira?"
Mira nearly choked on her stew and her face turned bright red. "Emma, we’re not going to.... I mean, we haven’t decided yet if we’ll....."
Noticing how flustered the beautiful Tauren girl was, Helen smiled knowingly and shifted her gaze toward her daughter. "Alright Emma, focus on eating your dinner."
