"Ji Yin, there's no need to belittle yourself. As an alchemist, it's only natural you're not skilled in combat," Zhu Yin interjected. She then turned to Ji Qing and asked, "What should we do next?"
Though Ji Qing was displeased with Zhu Yin, he chose not to press further. After a moment of contemplation, he said, "Si Xi is gravely injured and needs someone to guard him. However, the time we have to explore the Valley of Rebirth is limited. All four of us can't stay here. I'll remain behind to guard him, while the two of you search for the Frost Bone Wood. Zi Yun likely hasn't gone far; it would be wise for the two of you to stick together."
Zhu Yin replied, "Very well, we'll do as you suggest." Turning to Song Wen, she added, "Let's go, Ji Yin."
Following Zhu Yin's lead, Song Wen left the area.

After traveling a sufficient distance, Zhu Yin asked, "Ji Yin, did you notice anything unusual while following Si Xi?"
Song Wen shook his head. "Si Xi's cultivation level is higher than mine. I didn't dare to follow too closely. From what I observed, he seems genuinely focused on finding the Frost Bone Wood, without any ulterior motives."
Zhu Yin fell silent, her expression thoughtful. She muttered, "Could it be that Ji Qing came to the Sea Silk Forest just to help Si Xi find the Frost Bone Wood, without any hidden intentions?"
Song Wen hesitated, then speculated, "Could Ji Qing's goal actually be the Frost Bone Wood? He seemed quite concerned about it."
Zhu Yin dismissed the idea. "Impossible. While the Frost Bone Wood is excellent for crafting artifacts, it's of little use to Ji Qing. Whatever he's after must be something else."
Song Wen, feigning curiosity, asked, "Zhu Yin, why exactly did you want me to follow Si Xi? Can you explain your reasoning?"
Zhu Yin gave him a cold glance. "Knowing too much won't benefit you."
Song Wen responded, "I have no intention of prying into your secrets. But if I don't understand the context, it'll be hard for me to notice anything out of the ordinary with Si Xi."
Zhu Yin's expression turned pensive. After a moment of consideration, she finally explained, "To be honest, I'm not entirely sure myself. I suspect the Valley of Rebirth contains an ancient relic site. Ji Qing came here to obtain something from it."
"An ancient relic site?" Song Wen's brows furrowed.
Zhu Yin nodded. "That's my guess. I hope you'll keep our agreement in mind and monitor Si Xi closely. If he enters a location that seems like an ancient relic site, notify me immediately."
Though Song Wen listened, he didn't fully believe her.
Zhu Yin must know more about this relic than she was letting on, or she wouldn't be so intent on keeping tabs on Ji Qing and Si Xi.
"Could this ancient relic be connected to the Nascent Spirit Pill?" Song Wen wondered silently.
Zhu Yin led Song Wen through the surrounding areas, but after searching for a while and finding nothing, they returned to where Si Xi was recovering.
"Did you find any Frost Bone Wood?" Ji Qing asked upon seeing them return.
Zhu Yin shook her head. "No. This section of the Sea Silk Forest spans only three to four hundred miles. It's unlikely to produce another Frost Bone Wood."
"When we first agreed to accompany Si Xi, we promised to obtain a Frost Bone Wood for him. Now that it's been taken by someone else, how do you plan to explain this?" Ji Qing said, displeased.
Zhu Yin retorted, "It was Zi Yun who escaped from your hands..."
"Enough!" Si Xi interrupted as he finished his meditation. "Please don't let my situation cause discord among you."
Ji Qing turned to Si Xi and asked, "How are your injuries?"
"My injuries are no longer serious. Let's discuss what to do next," Si Xi replied.
Zhu Yin suggested, "Since there's no more Frost Bone Wood here, there's no reason to linger. We should head toward the heart of the Valley of Rebirth and retrieve the Earth Dragon Herb."
The toxins in the miasma were weakening rapidly. During their brief stay in the Sea Silk Forest, the toxicity of the miasma had already decreased by half compared to when they first arrived.
Ji Qing asked Si Xi, "What do you think?"
Si Xi replied, "Let's go with what Daoist Zhu Yin suggested."
Ji Qing nodded. "Daoist Si Xi, your magnanimity is admirable. Rest assured, this is not the only Sea Silk Forest in the Valley of Rebirth. After obtaining the Earth Dragon Herb, we will search other forests to find a Frost Bone Wood for you."
With their plan set, the four of them took to the air, heading toward the heart of the abyss.
The closer they got to the core, the denser the miasma became. Proceeding cautiously, they monitored the increasing toxicity of the miasma at all times. Occasionally, when the miasma thickened too much, they were forced to pause and wait for it to thin out before continuing.
Two days later, they finally approached the central area.
The terrain near the core was barren, devoid of underwater vegetation, with only scattered black rocks of various shapes littering the ground.
A massive fissure dominated the scene. It stretched over several dozen miles, with its widest point reaching nearly a mile across. As the fissure extended deep into the earth, it gradually narrowed until it disappeared entirely.
The miasma within the fissure was extremely dense, forcing the group to halt at the edge.
Feeling the oppressive toxicity emanating from the depths, Song Wen's face revealed his concern.
"The miasma in this fissure is so thick. As Golden Core cultivators, can we really withstand its poisonous effects?"
Ji Qing reassured him, "Ji Yin, don't worry. You and Daoist Si Xi only need to assist Junior Sister Zhu Yin and me in eliminating the Nether Sea Ghost Hound. You won't need to enter the fissure."
"That works for me," Song Wen replied.
Ji Qing added, "Ji Yin, time is of the essence. I must ask you to begin refining the pills immediately."
Nodding, Song Wen went to a large rock, set up a Breath Concealment and Spirit Isolation Array, created a dry area free of water, and began alchemy.
Zhu Yin glanced toward the area where Song Wen was hidden by the array and said, "Ji Yin's refining of the Demon Attractant Incense will take about three days. Let's begin setting up the Heaven's Net Ghost-Fire Formation in the meantime."
Si Xi agreed. "Alright. Setting up this formation is quite complex. I'll need both of your help."
"Of course," Ji Qing replied.
Three days later, Song Wen emerged from the Breath Concealment and Spirit Isolation Array with the freshly refined Demon Attractant Incense.
Meanwhile, Zhu Yin and the others had successfully completed the Heaven's Net Ghost-Fire Formation.
On a relatively flat seabed rock near the fissure's edge, intricate formation patterns had been etched. These patterns were drawn with some kind of black spiritual liquid. The seabed's dark environment and the black rocks made it extremely difficult to notice the patterns without close inspection.
"Fellow Daoists, the task is complete. The Demon Attractant Incense is ready," Song Wen announced.
Ji Qing commended him, "Well done, Ji Yin."
"What's our next move?" Song Wen asked.
Looking at Si Xi, Ji Qing inquired, "Daoist Si Xi, when can the Heaven's Net Ghost-Fire Formation be activated?"
"Any time you wish," Si Xi replied.
Ji Qing's expression lit up. "There's no time to waste. Let's begin luring and killing the Nether Sea Ghost Hound immediately."

Author's Note:
Let's talk about writing. Many readers have asked for more frequent updates. Unfortunately, I'm not a naturally gifted writer. The number of words I can produce daily is limited, and I'm sorry I can't meet everyone's expectations.
I strive to create a vivid world for you to immerse yourselves in, which requires detailed descriptions that take time to craft.
For example, the description of the Sea Silk Forest might take you just seconds to read, but it took me half an hour of research on underwater ecosystems to conceptualize.
The Longyu is based on the frogfish. In reality, it has two short legs on its belly and likes to ambush its prey in sea sand.
The Sea Silk is inspired by kelp. Its name reflects the imagery of long strands of kelp, resembling silk ribbons drifting in the water. Even coming up with that name consumed a lot of my time.
