The morning mist still lingered over the rooftops as Elena drove swiftly in her car through the narrow-paved paths leading to Theo and Kimberly’s residence.
Her heart was pounding, not just from her hurried drive, but from the storm of thoughts brewing in her mind.
*I have to tell them. They must know before it’s too late.*
As she neared the entrance, she was greeted by a familiar figure.
Elijah stood at the gate, his posture alert, his eyes scanning the path behind her. But when he saw her, his face softened into a polite smile.
"Elena," he said, his voice warm but cautious. "You’re out early."
"Good morning, Elijah," she said, catching her breath. "I need to speak with Alpha Theo and Kimberly. It’s urgent. Are they inside?"
Elijah hesitated for just a second too long. "No," he replied, a little too smoothly. "They’re not here."
"Come on, don’t lie to me," Elena snapped, frustration tightening her voice.
"This is a matter of life and death, Elijah. Where could they possibly go this early?"
Elijah looked around, making sure no one was near. Then, with a quiet sigh, he nodded. "Come with me. Inside."
Elena followed him through the main entrance and down a hall she hadn’t seen before.
He led her into a hidden chamber behind a tapestry, where the air was thick with silence and secrecy.
"They’re not just gone for a walk," Elijah said as he shut the door behind them.
"They’ve gone to Africa. It’s a sacred journey. A spiritual one."
"Africa?" Elena repeated, stunned. "Why? When?"
"They left quietly. Only a few of us know. Something important... a rite to protect what’s coming."
Elena clenched her fists. "Then this is worse than I thought."
Elijah leaned forward. "Talk to me. I’ll get the message to them. Whatever it is, I’ll make sure it reaches them."
Elena looked at him, trying to weigh her options. *Can I trust him with this? Will he act without jumping into war?*
"Elijah, I know your loyalty to Theo is unquestionable," she began carefully.
"But you have to promise to stay calm when I tell you this. Think first. Don’t act rashly."
He nodded. "You have my word."
She took a deep breath. "Alpha Derrick... he’s planning to overthrow Theo. And he has support. Elders. Power. Influence. They’re backing him."
Elijah didn’t react. His face remained still, unreadable.
"Elijah? Did you hear me?"
"I heard you," he said quietly.
"Then why are you so calm?" she asked, clearly surprised by his stillness.
"Because," he said with a small sigh, "We expected this.
Alpha Derrick has always wanted power. What I need to know is... is the Supreme Chief Priest involved?"
"No. In fact, he’s the only one standing in Derrick’s way." Her voice cracked slightly.
"But that means... he’s in danger now. He stormed out after confronting them."
Elijah’s jaw clenched. "Derrick won’t hesitate to eliminate him and possibly with his entire family."
"So what do we do?" Elena asked. "We can’t just sit here."
"We’ll get a message to Theo. He needs to know exactly what’s happening."
Just as Elijah reached for his phone, a soft knock sounded on the door. Both of them froze.
Elijah moved to the door, ready for anything. When he opened it, his brows raised in confusion.
Standing there was Mohandria.
Elena blinked in surprise. "Mohandria? What are you doing here?"
"I came to speak with both of you," she said, stepping forward. "I saw you arrive, ma’am Elena. I overheard everything."
"You were eavesdropping?" Elijah’s voice was cold, defensive.
"Yes. And I’m not sorry," she said boldly. "Because what I have to say... is connected to everything."
Elena and Elijah exchanged glances. Elijah stepped aside to let her in, closing the door behind her more firmly this time.
"Go on," Elijah said. "What do you know?"
"I had a vision last night," Mohandria began, her eyes glowing faintly with the remnants of spiritual energy.
"A message from the ancestors. From the spirits that guide us."
Elijah frowned. "A vision?"
"Yes. One I’ve never had before. It came with force, with fire... and a warning.
The balance is breaking. Something terrible is coming, and Theo and Kimberly are the keys to stopping it."
"We already know that Derrick is plotting to unseat Theo," Elena added, watching her.
"Is that what your vision showed?"
"No. Not just that." Mohandria turned to face both of them.
"There’s something even darker behind alpha Derrick. A force older than any of us.
A darkness feeding on betrayal, division, and fear. Derrick is just a pawn... but he doesn’t know it."
Elijah’s eyes narrowed. "Then we’re running out of time."
"That’s why I need to go to Africa," Mohandria said, her voice strong.
"I need to speak to alpha Theo and Kimberly. The spirits have a message that must be delivered to them directly. No delay."
"You?" Elena asked, shocked. "Alone?"
"I can travel faster than any of your messengers. I’ll go under the radar, through hidden paths the spirits reveal to me. But I need your help to get there safely."
Elijah rubbed his temples, trying to process everything.
"You don’t need that... We have someone who will take you to them without any delay." Elijah said firmly.
"That will be very nice... We can’t delay anymore." Elena said gently, but she looked worried.
"This is bigger than war," Mohandria continued. "It’s about the survival of our kind.
The bond between Theo and Kimberly is our shield. If it breaks... the darkness wins."
The room fell into a deep silence.
Finally, Elijah stepped forward. "Then we help you leave. Tonight. No one must know."
"But what if Derrick finds out?" Elena asked.
"He won’t," Elijah replied. "Because I’ll make sure of it."
Mohandria nodded. "Then I’ll prepare."
As she turned to leave, her voice dropped to a whisper.
"We don’t have much time. The ancestors are restless. And soon... everything will change."
And with that, she disappeared into the shadows.
Elena sat down slowly, her thoughts spinning.
*So it’s not just a political fight... it’s spiritual. It’s everything.*
Elijah walked to the window, watching the fading morning light shift.
*If we fail now, it won’t just be alpha Theo who falls. It will be all of us.*
But none of them spoke again. Not until the winds outside began to shift. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
And far away, beyond the land of Africa, darkness stirred, waiting.

The night was darker than usual. A thick silence wrapped around Derrick’s temporary stronghold, only broken by the steady echo of boots gathering in formation.
Derrick stood tall before his men, his face void of any feeling. Alvin stood directly in front of him, arms behind his back, waiting for the final word.
"You will go to the Supreme Chief Priest’s place tonight," Derrick said coldly, every word cutting the air like a blade.
"I want you to wipe everything out. No exceptions. Show no mercy."
Alvin nodded once, not even blinking. "We will carry out the operation exactly as you have wished, Alpha."
He gave a short bow, turned around, and marched away. The other men followed him with precision, their faces grim.
Derrick stood still, his arms crossed behind him.
*Whoever dares stand against me... shall kiss this world goodbye,* he thought with a dark grin forming slowly across his lips.
*No one challenges me and walks away unharmed.*
As the sound of the engines roared and the vehicles pulled away from the building, Derrick turned back inside, his fingers twitching in irritation.
Fifteen minutes later, Alvin’s vehicle came to a halt in front of the Supreme Chief Priest’s grand house.
The men stepped out swiftly, rifles in hand, ready for blood.
Alvin looked around. The house was quiet, too quiet.
*Something doesn’t feel right,* he thought, narrowing his eyes.
*Where’s the usual guard post? Why’s the gate unlocked?*
"Move in," he ordered.
The men stormed the building in practiced formation.
They cleared every hallway, opened every room, flipped furniture, pulled down curtains, but found nothing.
No guards. No family. No Chief Priest.
"Search everywhere!" Alvin roared. "Bring them to me now!"
In minutes, the team returned, empty-handed, breathing heavily, confused.
"There’s no one here, sir," one of the men said. "The whole house is empty."
Alvin stood in silence for a moment, then looked around the living room. His jaw tightened.
"Someone told them," he muttered. "Someone betrayed Alpha Derrick."
He pulled out his phone, anger bubbling inside him as he dialed.
It rang once before Derrick answered.
"Has everything been settled?" Derrick’s voice came through, calm but eager.
"No, Alpha... I’m afraid someone must have betrayed you," Alvin said through clenched teeth.
"The house is completely empty. Not a single person here. Even the guards are gone."
Derrick paused for a moment on the other end. Then he spoke.
"Retreat now."
The call ended.
Alvin stared at the screen. *He’s furious,* he thought. *And someone will pay.*
Derrick paced around his chamber, one hand gripping the edge of the table.
*Which one of those elders dared to betray me?* he thought, his eyes sharp with fury.
*Who among them ran to save the priest like a coward?*
He slammed his fist down on the wooden table, cracking the edge.
"I will get to the root of this betrayal," he said aloud, his voice dark and bitter.
His eyes narrowed dangerously, his mind already scanning faces, calculating, accusing.
At the same time, in Alpha Theo’s residence, the hidden gates opened. Elijah stood tall as the Supreme Chief Priest and his family were brought in quietly under heavy guard.
The Chief Priest looked exhausted, but his eyes still held strength. His wife clutched her son close, eyes darting around.
"Thank you," the Chief Priest said sincerely, turning to Elijah.
"If you hadn’t moved us when you did, we would be dead by now. Thank you for saving my family."
Elijah gave a respectful nod. "Alpha Theo left clear instructions. Nothing must happen to you or your family under my watch."
He offered a calm smile, though his eyes remained sharp.
"Please, go inside and rest. You’re safe here."
The Chief Priest nodded, his voice quiet. "May the moon goddess bless you, Elijah."
They walked into the residence slowly, guided by the guards.
Elijah stayed back, watching as the doors closed behind them.
He turned and walked out onto the porch, his eyes scanning the dark surroundings of the compound.
The wind had picked up slightly, rustling the trees.
He stood there, arms crossed.
*Derrick has officially made his move,* he thought. *And now... it’s our turn to make ours.*
He tightened his grip on the railing.
*The game is on... let’s see who laughs last.*
His eyes, fierce and focused, remained on the darkness beyond the gates.
Waiting, watching and preparing.
