Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red-Chapter 485: Reunited (1)
It was sunny, and Adrienne had to squint her eyes a little as she stepped outside. The sun’s bright rays made her reach for her sunglasses to shield her eyes from the intense glare.
Five years had already passed, and her best friend was ready to embark on a new Chapter in her life as she and Gavin decided to marry. Adrienne couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nostalgia as she thought about all the memories they had shared over the years.
Myrtle had been her rock, always there to lend a listening ear or offer a shoulder to cry on. As Adrienne waited for her friend to walk down the aisle, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and happiness, knowing that Myrtle had found someone who truly cherished and loved her.
"Gavin is too nervous." Lennox laughed silently next to her as they waited for the ceremony to start. "I have never seen him so anxious before. It’s adorable how much he cares about Myrtle."
"They’ve waited for a long time for this," Adrienne commented, "and I’m sure with Gavin’s personality, he would want it to be as perfect as it could be for Myrtle."
Gavin was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. He had gone above and beyond to ensure every detail of the wedding was meticulously planned and executed. From hand-picking the flowers to personally designing the invitations, it was evident that Gavin’s love for Myrtle knew no bounds.
"The Si family wanted to reconnect with him, but Gavin refused to have anything to do with them anymore." Lennox continued, "He didn’t want Myrtle to deal with his family as well."
Adrienne hummed in understanding. She knew that Gavin’s decision to cut ties with his family must have been difficult, but she respected his choice to protect Myrtle from any potential complications.
"You have done the same for me, Len. You and Gavin have both shown me what it means to prioritize the well-being of your loved ones above all else," Adrienne said sincerely. "It’s a testament to the strength of your love and commitment."
"I’ve already made my peace with my family," Lennox replied. "Sometimes, it’s necessary to distance ourselves from toxic relationships in order to create a healthier environment for ourselves and those we care about."
Gavin and Myrtle were having an intimate wedding. They had made the decision to hold a small ceremony with only their closest friends and family present. From the corner of her eyes, Adrienne spotted Stella holding the hand of a five-year-old child. Adrian Han, who was fondly called Ian by everyone, was looking around him with nervousness.
From what Adrienne heard from Myrtle, since the scandal that ruined the Han family, Stella has become the guardian of Alistair and Ayla’s son. The young boy inherited the Han family’s fortune and properties, making him a target for potential threats and danger. Despite the risks, Stella was determined to provide a stable and loving environment for Ian, ensuring his safety and well-being.
Ian’s looks were reminiscent of those of his late parents, with his father’s striking dark eyes and his mother’s slight curls. Adrienne couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness for the young boy, who had lost both his parents at such a tender age. She admired Stella’s strength and dedication in taking on such a responsibility, knowing that she would do everything in her power to protect Ian from any harm that may come his way. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Ian turned his gaze and met Adrienne’s. The boy was startled for a moment before lowering his eyes to the ground. Adrienne could see a mix of curiosity and vulnerability in his expression, making her heart ache even more for him. She gently smiled at Ian, hoping to convey a sense of comfort and reassurance.
"I’m glad Gavin is getting his happy ending this time." Adrienne heard what her husband said, reminding her of Gavin’s tragic end in her previous life.
Gavin took his own life a few years after Myrtle and Dylan’s passing. Adrienne’s heart sank as she remembered the pain and guilt Lennox had carried for not being able to save Gavin in her previous life. She was also relieved that they had prevented history from repeating itself this time around.
"They deserved it," She commented. "After all their hardships, it’s nice to see them finally find happiness." Adrienne couldn’t help but feel a sense of closure, knowing that Gavin’s story had taken a different path in this lifetime. She hoped this new beginning would bring him the peace he longed for.
Lennox glanced at his wife and took her hand, slightly squeezing it. Adrienne had done her best to avoid dwelling on the past and focus on the present moment. She knew that holding onto resentment and bitterness would only hinder their progress in building a better future together.
Looking at her smiling face, Lennox decided not to share the news of her father’s passing in a retirement home. Months after Alistair Han’s death, Lewis Jiang was freed from the deadly game he had willingly signed up for. He won a considerable amount of money, but he was left half-paralyzed.
Adrienne only met him once after leaving him in a retirement home and paying for his medical expenses, but she couldn’t bring herself to reconcile with him fully. She realized that their past was filled with pain and regret, and she needed to prioritize her own well-being and happiness.
Lennox would never understand why Adrienne still left her father off after all the horrible things Lewis subjected her to. She might have come to terms with dealing with her father, but Lennox didn’t feel the same way.
It was why he delivered the news of Elise’s death to Lewis Jiang behind Adrienne. The old man couldn’t move his half-paralyzed body, but his eyes widened in shock and disbelief. He could only utter incoherent words as he looked at Lennox.
Lennox knew that this would be the final blow to his father-in-law. He wanted Lewis to suffer both physically and emotionally, unable to escape the pain of losing his beloved daughter.
Lennox had witnessed firsthand the damage Lewis had caused to Adrienne’s mental and emotional well-being, and he was determined to make him pay for it. He believed that by delivering the news in such a cruel manner, he could inflict a fraction of the pain that Adrienne had endured on her father. It was a small act of revenge, but it gave Lennox a sense of satisfaction, knowing that Lewis would never be able to escape the consequences of his actions.
