Reborn with a Space: Building a Fortune Amidst Famine-Chapter 1190: Wedding
Yu Haibin understood Hu Zi. They all had families, and people like them, who didn’t even know their own last names, felt differently about belonging here.
This was something many people couldn’t understand.
Since everything was already arranged here, Hu Zi didn’t want to delay their work, so he said a few words and left.
When he arrived at the boss’s house, he saw Qi Wen chatting with his wife.
They seemed to be having a good time talking.
"Uncle Hu Zi, is everything arranged?" Qi Wen asked.
"Yes, I went to see it. It looks quite festive."
"Haha, of course, it’s your wedding day. It has to be festive."
Hu Zi also sat down, and Qi Wen poured him some hot water.
"I guess my mom and dad will only arrive by noon."
Mom had two meetings in the morning that she had to attend.
Feng Shanshan was tired now, but being at someone else’s house, she felt embarrassed to rest. Even when Qi Wen suggested she lie down, she didn’t.
Qi Wen looked at them, thinking they were very simple people, and even their clothes were old. Were they not going to wear new clothes for the wedding?
Actually, Hu Zi and his wife didn’t pay attention to this detail.
After Tan Shaoting finished the early meeting, he arranged the work for the day.
Looking at Qin Zhiyuan, "Today, Hu Zi is holding a wedding at the garrison."
Qin Zhiyuan felt helpless. The leadership was putting so much pressure on him, yet he really hadn’t thought about settling down.
Just thinking about it made him depressed. Without the right person, how could he settle down?
"Well, congratulations to him. Didn’t expect him to be so fast," Tan Shaoting just nodded. The leader had been urging him about Qin Zhiyuan and Zhang Chunsheng in the morning.
Actually, he thought whether to start a family was a personal matter. There was no need to force it. If the right one comes along, it’ll happen naturally, without anyone’s pressure. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Qin Zhiyuan went back to his seat, feeling depressed. There was an afternoon social event, which was a complete waste of time, but not going wasn’t an option. Just thinking about it made him frustrated.
Su Yuanyuan’s meetings didn’t run late. The meeting ended at nine-thirty.
Now her belly was very big.
He Yuanhao stared at her belly. It seemed like he just saw it move.
"Minister Su, are you going out?"
Su Yuanyuan nodded, "Yes, Hu Zi is having a wedding at the garrison. We both have to attend."
Actually, she couldn’t participate in the ceremony herself; she just missed the kids.
He Yuanhao knew Hu Zi too. "Getting married so soon?"
"They knew each other before, and met again this time. Both were alone, so they hit it off quickly."
He Yuanhao nodded, "That way things can indeed go faster."
He stared at Su Yuanyuan’s back, thinking he wanted kids too. But he still hadn’t settled on a partner. The whole thing really was quite frustrating.
Chengzi was driving, also feeling down. He had settled down way earlier than Hu Zi, yet now Hu Zi was getting married before him.
Su Yuanyuan knew what Chengzi was thinking. Why compare everything? It’s just a matter of a few days. What’s there to be upset about?
They arrived at the garrison. This time Su Yuanyuan went to Daqing’s office.
It’s better to avoid Feng Shanshan a little.
"Sister-in-law, they’ve already gone to the auditorium."
"Okay, then I’ll head home."
Tan Shaoting was the main wedding officiant, and then Zhang Chunsheng said a few words too.
Su Yuanyuan and Qi Wen walked together to the canteen, and many people greeted her warmly.
"Mom, isn’t it nice here?"
Su Yuanyuan nodded, "Yes, this place makes me feel quite secure."
The family sat together, with the three men responsible for serving the women.
Zhang Chunsheng accompanied Hu Zi and his wife for the meal.
Looking at Hu Zi’s prideful expression, he felt a headache. The leadership had given him an ultimatum; today was the last time. Next time, they’d directly assign him a wife.
Looking at Hu Zi’s wife, he thought to himself, this guy was really lucky to meet such a good wife.
After the meal, "When are you heading back? I’m going back."
"We’re going back too." The wife looked tired and lacked energy. Better to go back and rest; besides, no one was at home to light the fire, it must be cold.
It was just in time for them to leave together.
When Hu Zi got home, he immediately started a fire. It would take at least an hour for the house to warm up. It wasn’t that cold; the honeycomb briquettes were still burning.
Holding his wife, he said, "You better not lie down yet; the bed’s too cold. I’ll warm it up for you once I’ve got the stove going."
Feng Shanshan nodded. She washed her hands and face with hot water and felt much more comfortable.
Sipping a cup of hot water, she sat and watched Hu Zi busy.
This was her man, her husband, the father of her child—the person she would spend the rest of her life with.
Hu Zi was quick. He got both the living room and bedroom stoves running, then washed up like his wife, and only then did he strip down and get into bed.
Feng Shanshan blushed at his actions. What was he doing stripping down like that in broad daylight?
"Shanshan, what do you think of the garrison?"
"Thriving and prosperous."
"Yes, exactly as you said. I have the deepest feelings for that place. Back when the boss was in charge there, we were on special assignments. After the boss and the kids had the accident, the sister-in-law took charge there. Honestly, the fact that we could reach where we are today is all thanks to that couple."
"Su Yuanyuan is cold on the outside but warm on the inside. As long as she acknowledges you, that’s all that matters."
"Yes, the sister-in-law is incredible. Shanshan, come up. It’s not that cold now. I’ll hold you, and you’ll warm up quickly."
"Once it warms up, we must convert it to a heated bed. It’s too much suffering."
These days, she hadn’t even taken off her padded coat at the inn, which was really uncomfortable.
With both of them in their underwear under the same quilt, not doing anything was impossible. Anyway, Hu Zi was quite satisfied.
After work, Chengzi went home to start a fire. Once he’d tidied up at home, he’d come to light a fire every day, sometimes even staying over.
Today, after starting the fire, he went to the Li Family.
Li Xiaoyu was very happy to see her husband come over.
Chengzi had dinner at the Li Family. They’d already gotten their marriage certificate but hadn’t held a wedding yet, so they weren’t living together.
The Li Family treated Chengzi like one of their own.
"I went to the garrison today. Hu Zi got married. The wedding was held at the garrison today. I was thinking we’d do it together, but that guy was in too much of a hurry."
Li Xiaoyu had met Hu Zi. "So soon?"
"They knew each other before, and this time Hu Zi managed to win her over, so it was quick."
Actually, Li Xiaoyu didn’t want to have a wedding with someone else, and when the other party didn’t agree, she was relieved.
"Xiao Yu, have you prepared your leave?"
"Yes. Tomorrow is my first day back at work, so I’ll confirm it with the director once more."
