Reborn to Outshine My Ex and His White Moonlight-Chapter 1126: Holding the Leverage
Fan Yun immediately recognized from the sound of the car horn that the car was expensive.
He looked over curiously.
The vehicle was indeed fancy, but surprisingly there was a person tied to the roof.
"Is that a person? Am I seeing this correctly?"
Chu Yin had now seen it all, nothing surprised her anymore. She pulled Fan Yun closer gradually.
The silhouette on the car roof became clearer; it was indeed a person.
Both male and female.
"Ah!"
"I’m not playing anymore!"
But the people around didn’t care at all, instead, the laughter grew louder.
Fan Yun quickly took out his phone to call the police.
Chu Yin stopped him, "Hold on."
Fan Yun stammered, "This could kill someone, they’re defying the law!"
"How do you know they’re not participating willingly?"
"How could that be..."
In the next second, Fan Yun was stunned.
He watched as those wealthy individuals threw stacks of money at the people on the roof, who immediately stopped screaming in fear.
Such obedient behavior pleased the crowd.
Fan Yun’s eyes widened, "How could this be?"
"Did you not hear the driver say the bar has been open for a long time without any incidents? It indicates nobody reported it, or even if someone did, it was dismissed. So, why would these people keep coming here?"
There’s profit to be made, of course.
Chu Yin, too, had once felt so desperate that she considered going down a wrong path, which is why she felt unqualified to judge these people.
After understanding, Fan Yun frowned, "Then what do we do now? Just watch?"
Chu Yin checked the time, "Wait a bit longer, didn’t you notice they’re waiting for someone too?"
Only then did Fan Yun realize they had checked several times and kept glancing towards the entrance of the bar, clearly waiting for something.
Ten minutes later, another round of cheering erupted.
A few people emerged from the bar dressed up.
Upon closer inspection, Zhang Shutong and Zhang Jia were among them.
Fan Yun was taken aback, "It’s them; what are they doing?"
Chu Yin sensed something was wrong.
Sure enough, Zhang Shutong, Zhang Jia, and three others drew car keys, ran to their respective cars.
Fan Yun was puzzled, "What are they doing?"
Chu Yin hypothesized, "Have you ever played bumper cars?"
"Bumper cars? Using people as shields?" Fan Yun replied in disbelief.
As soon as he spoke, there was more movement.
They fed something to the people tied to the car roof, who then became incredibly excited.
Fan Yun was startled, "I know why no one dares to call the police, they’ve been drugged. Once discovered, their lives are over."
Chu Yin said, "Quick, record it."
Fan Yun took out his phone and started recording.
Fortunately, the cab driver had taken them to a hidden spot where they could watch without being noticed.
Once everyone was excited, Zhang Shutong and Zhang Jia started playing bumper cars with the crowd.
Screams rose one after another.
Watching halfway through, Chu Yin realized they were competing to see whose rooftop person would fall off first from the impact.
With such fierce collisions, if someone falls off and is hit or run over, they might end up dead or badly hurt.
Fan Yun swallowed hard, worried, "What if someone dies?"
Chu Yin was worried too, already pulling out her phone to call the police.
At that moment, someone fell off the car, but surprisingly, there was no expected scream.
Zhang Shutong immediately opened the car door and began kicking and beating the person on the ground.
"Wretch! Why didn’t you hold tighter?"
The person on the ground writhed in pain. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
But Zhang Shutong did not relent; she directly stomped on the person’s stomach with her high heels.
"Ah!"
"Waste! Drag her away!"
Zhang Shutong called for help.
Zhang Jia stepped forward drinking, "Don’t be angry, it’s just a game after all. I’ll buy you a drink, or tomorrow I’ll find someone better for you to play with."
Zhang Shutong turned around and left.
On the other side, Fan Yun, standing too close to the bank, nearly stepped into the void away from it, shouting briefly.
Chu Yin, frightened, pulled him down to crouch.
"Who’s over there? Send someone to check." Zhang Jia ordered.
Chu Yin hurriedly dragged Fan Yun to run away.
Fan Yun ran faster than anyone this time but didn’t abandon Chu Yin.
The pair sprinted at what felt like high school gym test speed until they reached a spot to hail a cab.
Then, they snuck back to the hotel.
Chu Yin entered Fan Yun’s room first, then immediately video-called Sang Li.
Sang Li glanced at the decorations behind Chu Yin.
"You’re not in your own room?"
"I..."
Chu Yin hadn’t explained when Fan Yun interjected.
He tugged Chu Yin down to sit, "Take a break, I’m dying here."
Sang Li squinted, "Ah Yin."
Upon hearing him call ’Ah Yin,’ Chu Yin realized trouble was brewing.
She quickly said, "Don’t misunderstand, we just went to check out the bar under the bridge..."
Chu Yin then recounted the events to Sang Li.
Unexpectedly, Sang Li wasn’t pleased, instead becoming quite angry.
"Do you even realize how dangerous this was!"
"Sorry!"
Chu Yin apologized immediately, looking at Sang Li apologetically.
"I’m sorry. I didn’t expect to encounter this today; we just intended to take a look and didn’t plan on doing anything. Unexpectedly, we ran into Zhang Shutong and Zhang Jia."
As she spoke, Chu Yin nudged Fan Yun.
Fan Yun swore to the sky, "Mr. Sang, it’s the truth. We really just stumbled upon them completely by accident."
Sang Li looked at the two of them, who jokingly called each other brother all day; the resemblance between them was slightly uncanny.
"Where’s the footage?"
"I’ll send it to you right away." Chu Yin promised.
"Chu Yin, don’t do this again; otherwise, I’ll take back my thoughts of letting you be an actress." Sang Li warned.
He’d rather have Chu Yin hate him than see her hurt.
Unknowingly, he started to understand Gong Chen from back then.
Chu Yin immediately said, "Understood, understood. I just wanted to help you resolve this matter sooner, didn’t expect this pair to play such a terrifying game in private. But there’s another thing even more terrifying."
As she spoke, she sent over the information Sarah had given her.
Sang Li only took a brief glance, and his expression turned somewhat grim.
"Who else knows?"
"No one."
"I’ll come find you tomorrow."
"Okay."
After speaking, Sang Li didn’t end the video, staring at Chu Yin as if implying something.
Fan Yun reminded, "Better head back, we’ll discuss it tomorrow. Don’t get me in trouble."
"Understood."
Only then did Chu Yin realize Sang Li was really upset.
She hurried to her room and continued talking with Sang Li for a bit longer.
Unaware, she drifted to sleep.
Again, it was that dream, the feeling of suffocation made her fearful.
Why did she repeatedly have this dream?
Is it a hint or omen?
...
The next day, Chu Yin felt muddled, she misspoke several lines.
Fortunately, with Fan Yun’s help, she made it through the morning performance.
While adjusting her mindset, she noticed the people around her were looking at her differently.
Not only her, but Fan Yun too.
Fan Yun pondered, "What’s going on?"
Then, nearby, their assistants were frantically waving their hands.
Something happened!
